You can't just ask someone "Whats the single worse trauma you've been through?" In a room full of people, on live television, and expect them to react positively even if this is faked that's just not a good way to help someone like this.

@@dedeferreira98 Yeah and that's great, they can still do that without doing this in front of a live audience. Especially when someone is so vulnerable and may not understand fully what they're truly getting themselves into. A lot of support can come from being on a show, and a lot of hate and toxicity can too. The majority of the time that he has guests on with sensitive issues like this, it's done in a private room with him. In my opinion is was held in front of an audience specifically to try and trigger her. DID is especially sensitive and misunderstood as it stems from early childhood trauma. I'm not opposed to bringing awareness, in fact, I think we need more awareness because it's highly stigmatized. I think Dr. Phil helps tremendous amounts of people. But it's also a national TV show that exploits people with conditions. I just feel like it wouldn't hurt them to be a little more sensitive especially with how much they benefit from troubled people.

What is known at this stage, is that a shockingly large number of people fake it for one reason or another. What we know at this point is that people with other mental health issues "think" they have it and thus act it out. Some have it because they want to be part of a group, some have it for various other reasons. But reality is that a lot have it because they want to have it, or need an answer. They shouldn't have to talk about their trauma in public, ESPECIALLY not on live TV. A better question to ask should be, "why are you here today?" and talk about the present, not the past.

Honestly, Dr Phil should've made it more like a private interview (not on stage in front of an audience), that would be really horrible for someone who has been so much trauma to then talk about it in front of a glaring audience (most likely would have people who don't think DID is real too). Jerica is definitely struggling, disociating and not answering his questions.

That question is so inappropriate. The trauma caused her disorder. Asking about it on a spot before audience is not ok. She kept shutting down and kept shifting into stronger identity that will say "we are fine" till she got to the one that's strong enough to say "we can't talk about it". So sad to watch

This is what the side affects look like from someone who has suffered emotional and physical abuse so severe that their mind shuts down in a sence as a protection mode for her own mental stability at that moment... When it occurs its like a switch you must turn off even though you know turning it back on will prove to be difficult or maybe even immpossible you shut it off anyways so that you in a sence remove yourself from the trauma if you cant protect your body in those moments of desperation you must at least try to protect your own mind and sanity she did what she had to in order to survive that moment but now she deals with the struggles of turning back on that light and facing that moment again in grave detail she is still far to afraid of the memories she will be looking at. Doesnt have any familia support she doesnt feel tge support she needs so she isnt prepared for that moment yet she is clearly trying but sometimes the world needs to understand that the worst cases cant be healed by people who have alot of degrees and book work credentials on this matter the worst case victims require only one thing to truly help them and pull them back out from this darkness and guide them through it and what is that one thing you ask?? Another true victim of these horrible acts and crimes that has already truly been in her shoes and fought their way out. For only those who have been there can truly guide someone out of that severe of darkness and back into the light only someone who has truly felt and lived these horrible feelings and faced all the same struggles someone who has learned to control them instead of letting them control you only that type of individual can save the worst abuse cases. May the Gods shine upon her and bring someone who she can relate too into her life someone who can truly commit and guide her through each obsticle she needs someone she can call and reach day or night only another victim could ever truly understand or be willing to commit their selfs and time that is needed to helping her all hours of the night and it will be needed nights are the worst for victims. I cant say for certain because i havent spoken to her personally but she ubdoubtably shows signs of familia or close friend long term abuse childhood trauma as well as fear for what could still accur let us all 🙏 for her mind to break free of these chains and for her to find the strength and courage to fight back to see that she has the chance to control it to make it bend to her will and not be trapped as victim to its will.

I know what this is like somewhat, I'm an OSDD system and often times I'll forget a question my friends just asked, or I'll think I did something when I actually didn't, or I'll just zone out altogetger, my friends even tell me sometimes I talk in a different accent sometimes. I dont know exactly what its like, my disorder isnt as severe as most others. I do forget a lot and I do hear voices and get impulses and all of that scares me a little and I can kind of see how all of this, all of us might drive people away. I've talked to my parents about this, and they dont believe me, nor do my siblings or a fair number of my friends. I'm not even sure if I believe it myself, but when it gets to the point where you look in a mirror and the person staring back at you is a stranger, thats kind of the breaking point.
