Mixing in the world has gone up drastically. Languages are also evolving and may become unrecognisable from now. Humans may or may not exist unless we make immense technological progress to counter the disadvantages in those millions of years.

Indians don't feel offended when African people make fun of us or our Bollywood because we know that Africans understand us more than anyone and it doesn't come from a place of malice. The Chinese however, are a different story. They definitely are some of the most racist c*nts in the world.

India in todays geographical term was 6 times larger than today. Always we say Jambudweep (whole asia, some parts of africa and europe), then it comes Bharat Khande which means (today's India,whole Indian subcontinent, myanmar, tibet, afganistan and parts of Iran). @@jacku8304 Learn history. There were lots of kingdoms whose borders fluctuated over thousands of years. British invasion and colonisation was only a part of Indian history. British tried their damned best to subjugate and rape India. They never fully colonised India. The names by which people of India call their country is Hindustan or Bharat. India is also used and actually derives from the ancient Greek name for India which itself is derived from Indus River.

I think you are misunderstanding what is geopolitics and what is geology... Techtonic drift is not a geopolitical phenomenon. The plates of the Earth's crust don't shift fast enough to have any significant impact on 'geopolitics', except in case of earthquakes, which are indeed caused by the built up stresses in the plates. To put it in perspective, The Himalayas were formed 50 million years ago. The first migration of Humans out of Africa occured no more than 130 thousand years ago.

In Australia, they had to adjust their online maps because Australia is moving. All the markers for where stuff is stayed the same, so the effect was it looked like you were driving on the sidewalk (or through the building) as opposed to the street.

As a Keralite so sad to hear that we are going to lose our precious precious coastline when Africa joins us. We already have huge mountains on our Eastern side the Western Ghats. So are we going to be mountain locked by having Mountain on our Western coast too?? And no sea coast to enjoy. What will happen to our food habits? Our love for sea food? Oh no!!! Thank you. Just to add, it covers all the way down to Malawi. It cuts through Malawi into two parts from north to south. Actually Lake Malawi (Africa's biggest fresh water lake) is a rift valley lake. The lake shares the same features as Lake Tanganyika, another rift valley lake in Tanzania.

I am from Kenya and I have seen these earth cracks widening by the year!!! Sometimes you wonder where to construct the house!!

I'm from Northern plains of India. This land was depreciated when himalyas were forming maybe the deepest point on earth surface(excluding deepest oceans) at that time. Later on soil made from Himalayan erosion filled this area over millions of years, Now my city has elevation of 400m. Maybe Ganga plains are most recent land formed on earth(Because himalayas are youngest mountains) if you don't consider volcanic eruption.

Also mountain building would occur before the land masses made contact. The oceanic crust would be subducting under India long before the sea between India and Africa is forced out of the way. That would form volcanic mountain chains where the subducted crust finally melts and is able to break through the Indian plate above, not at the point of contact. Earthquakes happen at the point of contact.

The entire theory is based on plate tectonics and not geo-politics. Moreover, it is all based on probabilities...and no one can say with absolute certainty that East Africa will merge with the Indian subcontinent...in the next millennia or two.

Interesting, but there's honestly a general problem I've noticed with the simulations of tectonic plate movements of the present and the future. They don't really take into account the possibility of volcanism, the frequency of eruptions, and how much the landmasses can change due to them. While yes volcanic activity is seemingly random, it can'rt be denied the role it plays in the formation of our landmasses. I think splitting the African continent into two like that is premature as we don't know for sure if those two will break apart like that and due to what i mentioned, volcanism, it's more likely the African continent may come to grow in size due to what divergent faults and plate boundaries are, a point of weakness in the crust for magma to fill in. My example is the Rio Grande fault in the Western United States and all of the volcanic fields and systems that have surfaced due to it, also the volcanic island chain of Hawaii. Rio Grande is the better two of these examples due to it's subsequent divergent faulting. Even though Hawaii only has volcanism due to an underlying hotspot, the fact remains you can't rule out the high possibility that both Shield and Strato volanoes will form due to this faulting in the East African Rift Zone. Too simulate those future plate moments without any consideration to volcanism is premature if I'm being brutally honest.

You have a highly distorted perception of the earth. The highest mountain is less than 9 km high. and we are talking about shifting of 1500 km landmass. It is literally a dat (a millimeter) compared to a six inch scale (ruler) you use. 5 dots here or there don't make any difference.

Splitting Africa into two parts will definitely be beneficial. Because there are lot of African countries are land locked. Splitting the continent will eventually get coastlines in those land locked countries.

The fact is that it is interesting that part of Africa is splitting off, part of California is creeping North, but none of these very slow changes are going to affect us.
