Would raising these goats for meat be a good idea?

It would be a waste. The fiber is very valuable and you shear them 2x a year for their whole lives. Towards the end the fiber is less desirable but still sellable. They are fine meat goats but that’s one payout after a year or two of feeding them, also they are smaller and more expensive than other meat breeds. Unless you want terrible meat from a senior animal for exclusively personal use after shearing them 10x
