There is evidence for demographic change in Britain, maybe even earlier than in Iberia. The previous genetic type was "Sardinian" (Vasconic-1 in my terminology, pretty much the first farmers of most of Europe) and the new genetic type was similar to Basque but actually pretty much like modern "Celts" of the islands, which is a very similar but not strictly identical type (both I include into Vasconic-2 category, more admixed with Paleoeuropeans). Vasconic-2 is quite apparently associated with Bell Beaker and probably also related cultures like Artenacian and the genetic roots appear "French" or probably "Aquitanian" to be more specific (more research is needed anyhow). So it was not mere cultural shift: there was population replacement and it was not yet the Inodeuropeans (Celtic) invasions (those only happened in West Europe and Italy since the late Bronze Age, Iron Age in the British-Irish case). They were related Vasconic peoples but a different sub-population, one that was lactose tolerant, carried quite modern genetics (R1b-S116 for instance) and were archer-merchants apparently (Bell Beaker but the archer part is also very apparent in Artenacian, by contrast Indoeuropeans were rather into battle axes), they were also megalithic or similar (collective or clannic burials) and that surely explains the relative cultural continuity in terms of ancestors' cult and megalithic "recycling".
