It seems most likely they did but we don't know in what capacity, there isn't that smoking gun which would really knock the debate on the head.

Try and getting on Study for Antiquity and Middle Ages channel. You could grow your viewership, and I think he would like your British content. Message him.

Cooking tubers, roasting nuts, toasting seeds, steamed leafy greens; the cooking of the easily gathered plants increased nutrients needed for human brain growth. Scavenging meat was a messy nasty job left for the more deranged members of the tribes.
