Why We Don't Like To Travel ✈️

Музыка

We're not big fans of traveling, we are home bodies and we like to piddle around the house doing our hobbies. Of course we've been on trips we've enjoyed and I'm sure will go on more in the future. Comment below and let us know if you love to travel and if so, where and all you've been. Also comment below and let us know if are like us and aren't crazy about traveling. I had an uncle who would not travel. He was in WWII. He served in Africa, Italy, France and Germany. Maybe more. He said when he was there he swore that if he was lucky enough to make it home he would never leave again. He stayed true to that. He never left his little town in Alabama for the rest of his life.

I am the same way now! When I was a younger woman, I rode my Harley all up and down the east coast. Many times. alone. My husband and I loved seeing new places. Now that I'm 63 and retired, I don't wake up thinking "where do I want to go today?" I wake up thinking about my garden, canning and preserving, my animals, picking blueberries and blackberries, what to cook for dinner, all the simple things. It stresses me to go to the grocery store now. Can't wait to get back HOME. God is so good, and I feel so blessed by His provision.

How can I travel with two 100-pound dogs? Really not leaving them. Catch lots of crap for not going. I used to travel and liked it back then.. now days not so much just causes me anxiety to drive 2 hours to my brother's house.

Traveling is exhausting, expensive, stressful. All that prepping, packing and unpacking. I especially dislike airports; they are so stressful, especially since 9/11. I lost my husband in the airport on the way to Jamaica. I cried. Lol. Travelling by vehicle feels like it takes forever. It’s difficult, if not impossible, to take your pets😢 It’s hard on children. I travelled in the 80’s by air and it was sooooo much nicer then. I am sorry you girls missed that time. I am 62 now and I love being home, sitting in front of the TV and watching The Pressley Girls and Celebrating Appalachia. I travel to North Carolina every time I watch you and it is wonderful. ❤❤❤❤

I can understand. As a french, i travelled in europe, asia, parts of the Us, caribbeans among some other trips. I met my wife in japan while travelling by bicycle, but i enjoy less tourism /classic travels, i am fed up with polluting planes, crowded places, i never liked guesthouses or hotels, which always seem to me not a natural way to travel or live. I can still enjoy some forms of wandering or "more natural" ways to travel, such as bicycle trips, or by sailboats, since i am a sailor. But i appreciated more and more to live peacefully, and we can find freedom in many ways, not just in the frenetic tourism. The first freedom is in our mind

I live in a condo building right by the river. There is a beautiful outdoor pool and garden. Summers are very nice in Montreal and I totally avoid travelling from may to October. People are always asking if and where we’re going to travel during the summer months. I always say that we’re staying home. We have everything nearby, golf course, lakes, mountains, amazing bike trails, the city is beautiful during the summer. I have travelled quite a bit in the past and I’ve realized that being at home is the best. Travelling for me will be limited to warm places to avoid some of the winter.

My parents bought me National Geographic as a child. So I've spent most of my life dreaming of travel. But we were poor, so our only family vacation (1962?) was once from south Florida to Highlands, NC. I remember walking under some large waterfall fairly close to Cullowhee. Spent 10 years on submarines in the Arctic. I just left the Virginia area after 30 years, retiring to Wyoming. It's so peaceful. I plan to explore the wilderness and the Rockies for my final years on earth. But when I finally get home, I'm perfectly happy relaxing, cooking and engaged with my hobbies.

I LOVE to TRAVEL, but I’m also a major HOMEBODY! Sounds like a contradiction but for me it means I’m happy at home, I’m an introvert, I love baking, cooking, gardening, crafting… all things done at home. But I sure enjoy seeing new places, love road-trips, flying, trains, cruises, camping, renting nice vacation homes, staying in plush hotels… Lol I LOVE IT! Btw, I usually travel alone and so I only go when & where I want when weather is just right and everything lines up easy breezy. I carry a peacemaker when I’m not taking public transit.

You both are so precious. I don’t enjoy airplane traveling anymore. It used to be fun, but since TSA, it is annoying. It is fun to see beautiful places and meet new people. Also, lots of people seem to like our southern accents. When a lady in Philadelphia looked at me like I wasn’t smart, I told her “Just because I talk slow doesn’t mean I am slow!” Then she laughed with me.

I never want to go to the ATL airport again. It was complete chaos, I had no idea what I was doing, where to go. I got yelled at and told to keep walking when the dog was searching everyone...I was so nervous I didn't even realize there was a search dog until it was right beside me, I was confused. And when I stepped into their machine it went off and I got searched, but I had nothing in my pockets.

I was late to the airport and when I got to where I was going I did the worst thing. Sooo embarrassed. Home is always the best place to be. The only thing that helps me is praying. I love the way you are. You both embrace who you are and you know what you like and don't like. You don't allow others to cause you to change to fit in or please them. I have struggled with so many different situations. I am becoming more this way, like you if it doesn't work for me or someone else is in charge, I do not like it. I want my things and my choices to be mine and the Lord's alone. 😊

I understand your sense of feeling uncomfortable about traveling. The only thing I can tell you is that you are missing some of the world's great places. I've been to Italy, Croatia, Germany, and then in the USA, California, Michigan, Maryland, and other states. I remember standing in Rome and thinking "I'm standing where Julius Caesar stood". I'm glad you visited my home state of Massachusetts. Hang in there ladies, the world is a great and fascinating place. Much love.

I’m comfortable at home sleeping in my own bed, taking a shower in my own bathroom, etc. But I do enjoy having a vacation from time to time with my family but I’m so anxious to get back home! Everyone is different. Just stay true to yourself ❤️❤️❤️

You guys had me laughing throughout this video…totally relate! Keep in mind any extra culture you would learn going afar will only have you appreciate your home and your Appalachian roots all the more. You are sitting on a gold mine already with your fresh mountain scented air, fresh homegrown food, clean well water, the evening quietness long lost elsewhere, lack of light pollution so you can gaze at even more stars, and the love of an incredible family with high moral values and tasty popsicles! Then you go and add a joyful Olive into the mix and a place where even slugs choose to live their lives. Keep up what y’all are doing! You are continuing to bless so many doing these videos to expand others’ cultural knowledge of your locale, when you think about it. We’ll keep praying for Miss Cindy and for your strength to see her through her earth’s journey. 💝

We’re retired now, live in Canada and have friends, family and neighbours all around us who travel (all types of travel). We have airline passes on a major airline as my husband was an airline pilot and we have travelled a fair bit. However, we have come to the realization that we don’t like travelling anymore. Fun “travel” for us is now camping in our small trailer with our dog, away from many people. I love our little home and puttering about. It’s a blessing that we both feel the same way as spouses and it’s freeing to admit it. Thank you for discussing this subject.

I just got back from traveling and I was scared to go but so glad I did, it was well worth the effort to go venture! And now I want to go back where I was! Seeing new things, appreciating the experiences travel teaches us is worth it - including noises and arguments outside your window (for 40 minutes in another language!) when trying to sleep at night, oh the things we go through traveling when we're stuck sleeping somewhere! The rest of the trip made up for even that fiasco! God be with you in your travels as He has been with me so faithfully.

Very close to where your friend David used to live. It’s nothing wrong with not wanting to travel, it’s not as glamorous as it’s made out to be. It’s awesome to see other parts of the world but there’s no place like home.

You have said all that is in my own heart. I want to be home in my own bed at night. I don’t care if everyone else loves to travel, do new things, see the world famous monuments. I applaud whoever does it. I have anxiety about crowded places, unfamiliar faces and roads. Just thinking about the stress associated with getting from point “A” to point “B” makes me hyperventilate. I enjoy being back home in East Tennessee but I don’t enjoy going there. The older I get the more I dread the trip even though it’s less than 200 miles. I know people who love going on cruises and any kind of organized sightseeing trips. Not me. Send me a card from wherever you are. I’ll look at your pictures and listen to your stories and be duly amazed. But I’ll wait for you right here on my back porch. If I could magically get where I’d like to be, I’d probably be helping your mom and dad in the garden and have a popsicle. Then I’d go sit on the porch and talk to Granny for a while because she and I are from the same generation. You and your family are like family to me and watching your videos are vacation enough for me.

This is so timely for me. I love going on trips *when I can* but I feel like most of my friends live to travel and frown on people who don't as much as they do. It's become a way of bragging and showing financial status by going places and posting about it online. And, it's exhausting! My grandmother spent virtually her entire life in Virginia. She may have gone to New Jersey at some point, but I'm not sure. But she was a wonderful woman who gave my family so much joy and happiness, and she seemed truly happy most of her life. I always think of her when people put so much weight on travel. There is not a thing wrong with loving your home and wanting to spend time there.

Totally understandable. I love being home, but I also love going new places and seeing new things. It feeds some sort of curiosity I have inside me. I’d really encourage you to visit Europe at least once. As others have said, it’s magical. I’ve visited England, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and some Eastern European countries. The Provence area of southern France is my favorite. Go to Nice (pronounced Neece) France. Walk on narrow cobblestone streets and enjoy fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh croissants, and the most beautiful beaches. You will love it. ❤
