Hi there, Liron here!
Today we'll discuss watercolor flow, and why it DOESN'T MATTER.
This may go counter what a lot of people believe, and a lot of the ideas that are spread out there in regards to watercolor.
Perhaps this provides someone the motivation to create with complete freedom.

I love your watercolor philosophy. You try to break down the barriers in our minds. I get it. We don’t have to follow the conventional rules on watercolor to achieve a masterpiece or just a great painting. What we need is a solid understanding of watercolor and how it works. Then we can arrive at the destination through whatever methods we choose. Your approach and thought process has helped me tremendously in refining my own style. ❤

I often struggle when painting in larger scale like A3 to keep the flow/ wetness where I want even if pre-wetted, it frustrates me.. watching this video gives me a bit of comfort.. thank you.

Very happy to hear 🙏😊 Yes, when you work this way - your paper might as well be the size of an enitre wall 😂 It's about the cumulative effect of all the areas painted individually, leading to a beautiful result.

I love the nuance in your color. Flow is fun, but it’s not what makes a watercolor painting. You can paint in isolated dry strokes on dry paper, overlaying them like a mosaic. It still looks like watercolor. Once, however, I managed to make watercolor to look not watercolor-like. The irony in that was that I painted it wet on wet.

So, your most important lesson is "Follow your own path"? 😊 I think it is great advice, because the only thing that makes us really good are those 10000 hours of practice and fear of failure causes paralysis, and we end up doing nothing.

With the caveat - I truly believe the time spent isn’t the most important factor. A lot of this can be achieved in much shorter periods of time (: Thought speed of growth is not something to aspire to. It’s a byproduct of other things. Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@@LironYan I agree with you that being intentional in your practice is more important than mindless volume. I was just using those "10000 hours" as a figure of speech and I think of them as being spent doing your own thing: your unique search and development. You said it a lot better 🤷
