When your team is a collection of available players rather than managerial selections, you can't/shouldn't expect anything. I actually understand why Ten Hag persists with this transitional heavy style because he can easily play Amrabat, Mainoo, and Amad and keep the ball but keeping possession is one thing, and scoring and winning games using that possession is another. Our squad certainly isn't capable of the latter with all the injuries AND also the majority of players being panic buys or makeshift loan signings or players from the previous 2 managers who played a completely different style. Our injuries ARE NOT AN EXCUSE. The circumstances are extraordinary, really. It's uncomparable to other teams and utterly shocking how this isn't highlighted at all. 65 is a crazy number. Man City lost 3 games out of 4 when Rodri was out, we all know Liverpool's injury-ridden seasons, Tottenham's title charge lasted only till October because "4 starters" got injured against Chelsea, Newcastle players got injured "due to tiredness" from last season and as for Arsenal, acc to the media, they apparently lost the title last season because "one CB", Saliba, got injured. Technical players, physical players, positionally flexible players, training facilities, recruitment team, stadium infrastructure, overpaying for players, underserved high wages, unnecessary lengthy contracts, no constant style due to change in managers, some lazy and unmotivated players, change in ownership = Problems! Solution = Sack ETH!? Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City are title challengers this season and all 3 clubs have the longest serving managers in the PL. No coincidence, there must be a reason. Something to ponder over right!?

The fact that we were able to pefrom like that against a team who are competing for the title in the last game of the season given the catastrophe of our squad and several players in make shift positions they have never played in nor have any business being there tells me ETH is the man to take us forward. Just imagine what he can do with an actual squad backed by a structure finally being in place that can recruit and sell effectively. Just look at what overachieved last season with all the issue we had just due to the fact we had 2 players available most of the season with Martinez take your pick of the others lol

The guy just dumped the successful squad he has last season, he ruined all that with new signings this season, all due to his over confidence and Underestimation of intense football in PL! Now team lacks proper structure & style. The only thing that ten hag's grateful this season is injuries(an excuse that would save his job), but also bro forgot about the he lost 4 of first 7 PL with no injuries during 2023-24 season start!

Your a clown, so your just going to ignore the last 10 games ETH performed terribly looooool we played better coz Amad is much smarter and better than and Anthony and Amrabat is good at controlling the game. Fans have wanted them to start more consistently and ETH never tried them properly once, which is why he has to go. He is a dumb manager and takes too long to learn. We have needed control all season and a double pivot of maino and Amrabat was obvious the answer but it has taken ETH 95% of the season and injuries for dumb ETH to figure it out smh he has to go asap!

Positions we need: 2 centrebacks (that can play and track back) 1 DM - ball carrying (that can play with back to goal) eg. Lobotka 1 winger minimum: mitoma A striker: sesko or verdat muriqi

Honestly we should have 3 more CB's in the squad. 2 new with Kambwala perhaps. Maguire and lindelof need selling to give the youngsters a fighting chance if we can get 3 in. We need atleast 4 central midfielders. Mainoo is all we have. Bruno and Mount will stay. We need 3 more, atleast 1 on loan. I'd say Amrabat should stay as a bench option next year with a 2 year loan deal till we can afford to replace Bruno and McT We need a versatile FB and I'll not 3ven talk about the wingers. We just need creators

excellent analysis as always. It does beg the question as to why EtH has waited this long to implement a system like this considering the midfield problems all season? It has limitations, but at least resolves the huge gaps? Yesterday also highlighted the importance of Bruno in the final third, and a offensive overlapping right back who can provide a serious threat. Lack of end product in final third from everyone was disappointing, Amad being the best of an average bunch yesterday as far as cutting edge is concerned.

Because without transitions we don’t score as many goals. Our players can’t score through sustained possession. If he tries to do that we would defensively be solid but won’t create any chances/score. Think about the times he’s gone more pragmatic this season, we either don’t score in those games or we win those games by one goal. He goes transitional(I.e: more open) to create more attacking opportunities since that’s what suits our offensive players. That’s going to happen when you have this Frankenstein squad in the middle of a rebuild. I’m not saying it’s right but I can understand why he makes some of the decisions he does tactically

@@niiadoteysackar3140thought I'd come say exactly that. We either keep possession and loose by a single goal or lower scoreline. Or we play on the break and loose via mistakes. Its a loose loose situation

I mean it was a decent enough performance but all we saw really was United doing the fundamentals, something they’ve lacked so many times this season (apart from the goal!). The midfield was balanced and we could finally at least see something different from ETH tactic wise making sure Mainoo and Amrabat were both back as CDM and adopting a 4-4-2 defensive shape when Arsenal were attacking. Started to lose shape at the end on account of us trying to go for it but I guess that was always going to happen. The forward players just have to be better. Garnacho is not the player everyone thinks he is and neither is Hojlund. Sick to death of this cop out of not getting any service when he can’t hold up the ball or create space and has such a bad first touch. Even if we beat Newcastle on Wednesday I think we stay 8th because of GD so United all but surely finishing there this season. Regardless of what happens in the FA Cup and if he stays, from the first game next season it needs to look good otherwise the pressure mounts again. I feel like United should buy Amrabat. Who else we going to get for £20m with the wages he is on and what he can offer as squad player especially if Casemiro is going in the summer.

Arsenal's nervousness helped a bit in this one; perhaps too much respect from them. Following the rumour that "a dressing room source" doubts whether any of the remaining games can be won, I personally doubt UTD will even score. But, er, the silver lining is the room for learning - almost all that is left, and it does look like some thinking was occurring... And, anyway, you never know. Feel strange, especially with the last game being the Cup Final. And against City to boot.
