The main thing I dislike about Valorant is the fact that I can't pick which maps i'm playing. I love that about cs. Also, I feel like movement is much more fluid in csgo than in valorant(I mean when walking/running, i'm not taking abilities into account.) For me the main problem csgo had was that most people had lost a little bit of the will to play it, but with cs2 hype, player count is higher than ever. Both are good games imo, so just play whichever you prefer.

  • @TheDeividas3

the lost of will to play comes from players who have played the game for a lot of years and still didn't managed to get better and when you are the one always carrying and losing it doesn't feel good man. (talking about faceit btw)

The problem is people don't understand that if they don't want to learn utility and strategy around it that doesn't make the game bad. If i play CSGO and dislike the movment I won't say that CSGO is bad, I'll say that I don't like CSGO. Same with Valorant; I enjoy learning utility and learning strategy so I would obviously say it's a good game, other people who dislike it either have studied the game properly and disliked it (which is a fair opinion) or they haven't studied it and simply say that utility gives unfair advantages. The point is, if you don't like it, YOU don't like it, that doesn't make the game bad. There are people who do like the game and so they study/play it.

I agree with that largely, I do however think there are a lot of flaws in valorant. The economy system is deeply flawed, equal opportunities for each side despite unequal power of attacking and defending, every gun having the same kill reward makes it so pistol round decides the entire half and it's impossible to gain momentum since the jett with an op, is considered to be working equally hard for the kill as you with a stinger. Economically, force buying rarely happens, it's only eco or full buy because there's very little reason to buy mid price guns unless the balance makes them for some reason better than the staple rifles.

I prefer Valorant to CS but CS has an edge on longevity. Since its mechanics never change or atleast don't change too drastically, you can boot up the game after a year long hiatus, and after shaking off the rusty aim, you can get back into the groove of things. Your pop flashes work the same. The lineups work the same. The movement stays the same. In valorant in that year of hiatus, suddenly your favourite agent has been nerfed to the ground. And a totally new agent has been introduced that everyone insta locks, failing which they deque so they can try insta locking again. Both games are absolute blast. And I don't understand the amount of gatekeeping both sides of the competition do. What's the point?

Purely gameplay wise, nothing about visuals or gunplay/movenment, the thing that puts cs above valorant is that the things you work on, lineups, execs, set strats, etc, will always be viable and something you can lean on. In valorant they change the game constantly to the point where something you took time learning becomes obsolete or worthless. With cs the things you work on take longer, but last longer. It's like working on a god pick with mending vs constantly making diamond pickaxes, sure you can do the later easier, but it isn't permanent, and will never feel as good

The biggest problems I hope they are fixing is the hackers, ticks and ranking system. The ranks are so out of place right now, server/hit box latency, and hackers are easily present in a lot of games (unless you deny it). I know that those can be fixed, as well as faster servers. Valorant has 128tick servers, and here valve is making bank off of micro transactions but is acting like the tick problem is fixed with “subticks”. I have many hours on both games and I can truly say that Csgo players and Valorant players are their own separate takes on the different gameplay, game mechanics, graphics, movement, and so much more. In cs, more movement is involved and you'd need a sharp eye as there are no player tracers unlike Valorant. In Valorant, there are more ability mechanics which people in counter strike may like or hate. This debate cannot be settled as there are always two sides that will constantly come up with a reason why x is better than y.

The reason there are full bot lobbies in tf2 is because they join on each other to take over the lobby. If you stay in one of those almost full bot lobbies for long enough to where almost all the real players have left, they all leave too. It’s not like the bots only rely on mm to join matches at random. A bot joins if it’s not booted as people leave more join until they have enough votes to get a majority and then can’t be booted anymore. You don’t need 80% of the player count to be bots for the game to have such a bad bot problem, you only need maybe 1-2k bots. 70k players, 24 players lobbies, ~3k lobbies if all the lobbies were full, and which generally they are mostly full because people don’t like to play on empty lobbies, 6 players need to vote no to stop a kick vote, 6 bots to a lobby with 2k bots is 300 lobbies that can be held up at once, and once they’re finished with one they just move to another where there is at least 1 empty spot. Bot joins, people leave, more bots join, more leave, lobby pretty much empties, bots leave to find new lobbies. As long as your lobby has 10+ people in it you can kick the as they come in, but when there are more than 2 bots silt becomes difficult. They steal a real players name so on the menu it’s hard to tell which is the bot, and they call vote kicks on real players, and a lot of the time people just brainlessly f1.

In my opinion, Valorant doesn't feel like a competitor to CS GO at all. The only thing they share in common is that they're both in the FPS genre and have low TTK. But other than that Valorant deviates too much from some key principles that are the foundation of CS GO. Things like no agents, no/limited aim down sights, heavy focus on utility etc. Add on top of that more superficial factors like skins and graphics, there is practically nothing left to compare.

Dota was a warcraft 3 mod, riot co-founders were part of the team that develop said mod, then they took the fun parts and remove/add some mechanics to make it more accesible to the public. In the other hand Ice frog did a deal with valve and dota 2 became a thing. At the end of the day, Riot gets something that has a high mechanical or skill complexity and make it more accessible to mainstream consumers, their last IP it's going to be a "dumb" down version of fighting games, and so their MMO will be a WoW clone, whatever they do it will be beneficial to us as consumers, because the competition will need to improve for fear of losing their market share.

What are you talking about? Dota 1 was released in 2003 and League of Legends in 2009. LOL is a copy of DOTA1, not DOTA2. In 2013, Valve made dota2, the same way valve made cs2. You saying DOTA2 was released in 2013 so league of legends is not a copy of DOTA, is like saying CS2 was released in 2023, which is why Valorant is not a copy of CS. What you can say is the fact that RIOT did not copy Valve when they made LOL, which is true, because DOTA1 had nothing to do with VALVE at that time. But at the same time, Valve has all the rights of DOTA. So in a way, even though Valve did not own DOTA1 at that time, since they bought the mod, they own all the rights, you can still consider DOTA1 a valve game. But at the end of the day, LOL still copied Dota. Is not an original concept.

Except that Counter Strike is a titan of a name compared to Dota, everybody and their grandmother knows about Counter Strike. CS Go just has one issue: It's inaccessibility. Accessibility is what catapulted League and helped it win, but I still don't think it's comparable. I am glad Valve is making a big effort to make Counter Strike more accessible in CSGO2 though, because the game has a bit of a gatekeepy feel to it, despite the fact that it seems simple. The other huge thing is that even if you don't play either game, Counter Strike is a WAAAY more exciting esports viewing experience. It's simple, it's clean and understandable. You can have somebody who doesn't know CS, watch a match and understand what is happening. Good luck understanding Valorant, it's weirdly convoluted.

As a TF2 player who is making a small shift into CS Him saying TF2 is dead hurts my soul for anyone who cares even by the time the video was uploaded Tf2 was never dead Saying TF2 was dead because of Cheaters is like saying Counter Strike is dead because of Cheaters TF2's bots at their maxiume terror made up about 10k players max Thanks to that broney cheater getting arrested TF2s bots have basically died down now and i'd say we probably old have 1k bots now TF2 cheaters make up about 3-7k max right now The reason why tf2 bot ciris was a problem was because the bots were programmed to go in groups of 3-4 on each team making it impossible for the bots to vote kick (it also didn't help that they were mic spamming ear rape and more) The TF2 bot crisis is basically gone now and while the player count right now is "lower" it is usually around the 80-90k range Thats arguably due to CS2 (since both I and all my Tf2 steam friends have been playing the fuck out of CSGO) and also School starting for people But the TF2 Economy is strong and the Playerbase is still strong Also TF2 has community servers and as long as community servers is a thing this game will never die in the traditional way (aka being shut down for good)

Valorant is a MOBA shooter like Overwatch sprinkled with a tactical FPS element. The problem with that is Valorant's predefined role. CSGO doesn't have one but the teams and the community makes one and you don't have to be stuck on that role if you don't want to. You don't want to be the entry fragger on the team? Go ahead no one is stopping you. Want to be the AWPer even though there's 3 of you who buys the AWP, go ahead no one is stopping you. Everyone has a choice. With that said, let's not forget how you can't pick maps on Valorant. That's just plain stupid. I'm not surprised if Valorant goes the destiny 2 PVP route. They think that the gunplay is good so they're going to introduce new OP agents and they'll go back to the trappings of a traditional MOBA.

tf2, the game that valve want to stop developing but somehow people keeping it alive. with a very small number of employees, they'd need to handle and focus their manpower on other projects. tf2's spaghetti code even makes it harder to develop and make update with. they would need to make the game from scratch again and better with source 2 engine so they could develop it easier. they could've also do the same thing as they did with cs2; that is to make a new tf2 game while also keeping the gameplay 1:1. though since valve is cooking other new games beside cs2, i speculate the development for tf2 is quite possibly small since they're using their manpower for their other projects.
