We are fed up of this blatant corruption. We want a public inquiry. Fully independent. Or an election.
David Johnston puts his retirement in question from the mere audacity of him taking the job knowing he is a friend of jt. jt also hired his sister in law to protect Canadian Ethics but truly protect jt non-ethical ways.

We need a public inquiry by a bipartisan individual not any family friends, relatives or acquaintances of this PM NOW!!!!!!
Mulcair is absolutely correct! Appoint another or just go to a full public inquiry!
is margaret trudeau not available to conduct the investigation, I'm sure she wouldn't be biased at all
I think Trudeau should investigate himself. He’s a very ethical leader and knows the difference from right and wrong. Just look at his 8 yr record.

Telford should be in PRISON with DRAMA TEACHER......
It’s weird to me that the government stresses the avoidance of conflict of interest or the mere appearance of, but that doesn’t seem to apply to anyone else higher up.
We all said the same thing . We want a public inquiry now !
David Johnston..a special corrupteur!
I do admire Mr Johnson career and agree he has no place as a judge in this matter. I do however not believe dodging questions as a public servant is an admirable quality.
Ah, Canada's hereditary aristocracy insulated from accountability and equity yet again.
Why oh why is Trudeau still in office?
She won't answer anything saying I cant answer that because of security concerns....
As usual our pm goes around the law and ethics by appointing DJ , DJ should also have known to decline this appointment no matter how impeccable his reputation is, I guess that impecable reputation is about to take a big hit.
As a lawyer he must recognize how our judicial system is compromised. It’s very frightening.
This information on Johnston is not new. As soon as Johnston was named it was raised in Parliament by the official opposition this is clearly conflict of interest. Get with it.
Johnson should do the right thing and step down, pretty sure he doesn't need the money. Maybe JT should get his mother Margaret to investigate the trudeau foundation.

He can quote what Pierre Trudeau said "fuddle duddle" lol

@Forgiveness or Love thank you for the correction. It will be MUD if he doesn't recuse himself
I don't think Mulcair quite understands. The Conservatives are perfectly aware that Telford with refuse to answer questions or deny factual evidence just as she did in the case of the WE scandal. Mulcair himself makes that statement. Conservatives are also strongly aware that in other countries federal inquiries are courts which can mete out contempt of court punishments - as was done with certain Trump officials. When Telford goes into her act, Poilievre will immediately use this behavior as proof that Canada is broken. Simply the fact that Mulcair takes such pleasure in Telford's past antics is of itself proof that Canada is morally broken.

Johnston is a legal expert. He obviously is aware he has a conflict of interest in this process. So, what is he trying to accomplish. It must be big for him to put himself in a position of ruining his heretofore excellent reputation. Or he is protecting himself because he was involved.
Given the ties to trudeau, Johnson should have declined rap job to begin with.
Of course he needs to step down. Family friend investigating family friend. What pray tell could possibly go wrong.

Banana Republic. A cold banana Republic.
Conflict of Interest
Mulching is 100% correct. The best Judge in the world cannot preside over any case where they have had any direct interest in. (Even indirect would normally disqualify a judge.) It’s a matter of judicial ethics. The same has to be said for an investigation like this. Because there is a possibility that the Rapporteur will discover materials or information that leads to criminal investigations there can’t be the slightest sniff of conflict of interest.
The level of incompetence is continually finding new highs with this ethically challenged leader.
Mulcair impresses me more now than he did when he was leader of the NDP

I feel like I'm being gaslit the way the NDP under Layton and Mulcair was like an independent opposition party. But now the NDP is totally different. It's like they watched American politics, and decided they'd rather be Bernie Sanders than Jack Layton, and so now that's what they are.
Watching this video a few days after Telford's testimony, Mulclair is bang on with his analysis. Telford hid behind 'National Security' excuses. What are you hiding Mr. Trudeau?
