Swiss did an amazing job recreating the flaps failure.

Flap over failure is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. one id prefer engine failure over.

In the one flap being stuck at 40, on approach you can use the alternate flap to extend all of them. Right?

There is a sensor in the A330 at the flaps and when it detects that the flaps are deferential it just locks them so that de differens is not that big and you can land

Next to a redundant system there usually is a sensor that detects flap asymetry, If it detects asymetry the flaps will stop in their current position to not further increase the asymetry.
