Why The West Is DESTROYING Religion

Ойын-сауық

Watch the full Real Talk With Zuby x Michael Shellenberger episode here:
• Michael Shellenberger ...
In this conversation between Zuby and Michael Shellenberger, they discuss the modern manifestation of religious impulses in secular society. They observe how various movements, from woke culture to pandemic responses, often adopt religious fervor. Shellenberger notes a softening of views towards traditional religions like Christianity, even among former atheists or agnostics.
They explore how the rejection of traditional religions hasn't led to the expected hyper-rational, kinder world but has instead left a void filled with secular, often divisive beliefs. They touch on media portrayals of religion, noting a lack of positive depictions. The conversation extends to the emergence of new secular "religions," such as the UFO movement, which draws in those seeking meaning outside traditional religious structures. Overall, they reflect on the human tendency towards religious or spiritual seeking and how it manifests in various forms in contemporary society.

Anyway, I'd be a little wary of accepting uncritically anything _these_ guys say - or that anyone says on KZread, for that matter. But the idea that there's a "ruling class" which is anti-religion - rather than _using_ religion for their own economic and political power - is just silly.

One of the features of the West that distinguished it from every other civilization on earth was the separation of religious and secular authority. This was imperfect, and the two sides overstepped their boundaries, but the idea of a balance of power was always there. Separation of Church and State was not an American innovation, but rather restoration of the situation as it stood before Henry VIII's state takeover of the church in England. Beginning in the 19th century, ideologies that required no check on state power began to emerge. The religious sphere thus became the enemy of the state, and governments began strangling religion to remove that check on their power.

The softening of formerly hardened hearts toward faith, particularly Christianity, is encouraging. I often found myself getting very frustrated throughout the last 15 or so years with the militant, aggressive atheism that has been so arrogant and condescending in its caricatured portrayal of religion. Disbelief doesn't bother me, but berating those who do believe was never a good look for them. They became exactly what they claimed to hate. Also, granted the fact that their worldview has had a chance to play out and fail miserably, I think a lot of these new, aggressive atheist types are eating an awful lot of crow in that they're not nearly as vocal on social media as they used to be. Hopefully they've come to their senses. Perhaps some may, dare I say, even find God in good time.

Science has massive limitations and it doesn’t contradict the Bible. Essentially, the crux of my argument is this: there are inherent limitations to the scope of scientific inquiry, particularly when it comes to understanding the complete origins of the universe. This limitation stems from our inability to observe the universe from an external perspective - an insight which may not have been previously considered (I bet this bit never occurred to you). People who fetishize science seem to advocate for an unquestioning acceptance of the idea that it is entirely logical to conduct experiments within the very entity whose existence we are trying to ascertain. This is while they concurrently suggest that the universe spontaneously emerged from nothingness in a void of non-space. This presents a paradox that needs to be acknowledged in scientific discourse.

Of course God forgives you this is foundational!!! As believers in Christ, our righteousness is not based on our own works or efforts, but on the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ, and more specifically, the finished work of Christ on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:22, Philippians 3:9). This positional truth is the foundation of our assurance. It reminds us that our salvation is secure in Christ and that we can confidently approach God, knowing that we are accepted, loved, and blessed in Christ because He has purged our sins and presented us without a spot to God (Isaiah 61:10). Every believer is saved whether they have the assurance that they are saved or not. Our security is not based on our assurance, but assurance comes from knowing how secure we are (Romans 5:17). So we need to grow in the knowledge of what we have in Christ and what He’s done for us. This shifts our attention off ourselves and onto Christ, and this is how the “race” is run. We set aside burdens, cares, and sins that easily entangle us and look to Jesus. We are not looking at our feet; we are looking at His face! (Heb 12:1-2)

Known by who as the "Dark Ages," the same kinds of thinkers that push trans-sexualism a "trans" concept borrowed from the "Dark Ages" concept of "trans-ubstantiation of the Catholic Church? Russiagate was preceded by the fake news labeled "The Dark Ages." Let me ask you something, and I majored in the science 🧪 🔭 of biology at a secular university, I've heard the East of Eastern Christianity had the "lights" of cities like Antioch. This I don't deny, but think about that "framing" 🖼️ as they call it in psychology (the great classic propaganda film, "Birth of a Nation" was "framing" by Klan sympathizers). A city here, a city there, with absolute exclusion of vast swaths of rural areas between cities like Antioch and Alexandria "lights" for all 🤨. And in contrast it was said the "West" descended into the "Dark Ages" with scattered monasteries here and there? Hmm... 🤔 Let us consider that criteria. What monasteries did the Apache have? What great cities did the Apache and Lakota the have? What universities did they erect? What stonned Cathedrals with the architecturally revolutionary domes or simply artistic masterpieces of architecture did the Comanche, Apache, and Lakota have? But so-called "historians" (an art on par with "The Birth of a Nation" more than a science) and "scholars" never call pre-European Plains of the now USA "The Dark Ages" before the Catholic Spaniards arrived (who transfered horse technology 🐎 to the Plains Indians). The "Dark Ages" is one of the dumbest terms historians (centuries after those periods) ever came up with. It verges on being an oxymoron since pagan Germanic tribes sacked Rome, causing the city to fall from approx. 1 million residents to approx. 50,000 residents, resulting in a collapse of tax revenue and workers for infrastructure upkeep, and those pagan Germanic tribes the Romans called "Barbarians," thus how could Europe the have been a de facto "Light Ages" when it was full of Barbarians. Celtics, Vikings, Germanics, these were all white Apaches. Historians like to conflate a non-existent Europe with the Roman Empire. The Catholic Church created Europe as a concept and the Church spread aspects of "Rome" throughout Europe including the Latin Language, Canon Law it derived from Roman Law, Church Priestly vestments (which are modifications of ancient Roman male clothing), architecture like the Basilica, and administrative governance called "dioceses." The "white man" today just ASSUMES prior to Catholicism all white men were just "naturally" brilliant and there were no white barbarians, that one united Europe existed full of learned, jolly, white people. The Dark Ages do exist... it's called today's USA with massive homelessness, opioid epidemic, male prison r_pes and violence, firearms shootings all over the USA, and college educated population that thinks a woman can have male genitals and ejaculate sperm in another woman.

You go to such extremes to validate of Faith that your Lord left you. No evidence of. He didn't mind going out proof with Paul and Peter and the people in the Bible! But I guess that well ran dry! The truth is, if there is a God he didn't write the Bible. That book is so screwed up! There's no way a God wrote it.

It's the open hypocrisy of every religion that the religion itself refuses to address that we don't like. If it's not the open hypocrisy of the figurative/literal congregation, it's the hypocrisy of the God/Diety we cant stand even if the core message intent itself is true and good.

Matthew 6:2 - Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet as the hypocrites do in the synagogue or on the corner of the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly I say to you, they have their reward. Matthew 6:5 - And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corner of the streets that they may be seen by men,. Assuredly I say to you, they have their reward. Matthew 6:16 - Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. Matthew 15:7 - Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, "These people draw near to Me with their lips, but their heart is from Me, and in vain do they worship Me, teaching as commandments the doctrine o men." Matthew 16:2-3 - When it is evening you say, 'It will be air weather, or the sky is red', and in the morning, 'It will be full weather today, or the sky is red and threatening.' Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky but do not know how to discern the signs of the times. Matthew 23:13-15 - But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! or you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men, for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows houses and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much of a son of hell as yourselves. Matthew 23:23 - Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint, anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, faith justice and mercy. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Matthew 23:25 - Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion, and self-indulgence. Matthew 23:27-29 - Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like white-washed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Luke 12:1 - Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Scribes which is hypocrisy. Your problem is not that every religion refuses to address hypocrisy, it's that you refuse to accept that you're also that hypocrite; Isaiah 9:17 - For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. God's not the hypocrite, you are. That's why you just lied and said Christianity refuses to address hypocrisy when passage after passage says that the hypocrite is under greater condemnation. How could you say something so obviously untrue if you weren't a hypocrite?

I tend to look at things like this… in Daniel it appears Rome was final beast. The Gospel conquered Rome. All that was Rome (the west) converted to Christianity. This was the death blow to the final Beast except that wound was healed. This healed Beast ( Satans imitation of our Lords Resurrection) attempts to accomplish what it failed to do in its earlier carnation. We’re living in the final phase and it comes as no surprise the nations of which the Church was built upon are now the target. Obviously, not doctrinal, just how I see the spiritual war being played out.
