to me, seeing that the end-domes and the titanium rings were recovered quite intact, and also noticing that the acrylic window was blown out inclusive the retaining titanium ring that held that window in its place and its bolts, that tells the story all to well. The carbon fibre part of the vessel crushed in on itself and then the air inside this compartment blew out the acrylic window from the inside out like a champagne cork. All that with such a force that it even dismounted the retaining titanium ring and the bolts holding it. What I really can`t get my head around is, that they did just parallel layers of the carbon fibre and not criss-crossed them. Most likely this wouldn`t be strong enough either, but it for sure would have increased the amount of pressure the hull would have been able to take by a lot.

the air bubble pressure pushing on the window would not exceed the pressure on the other side of the window. however, the the water and elements of the hull started moving the acceleration may had built up huge momentum to blow the window out. the same thing if the window broke, the rush of water inside could’ve caused shattering of the hull and an out burst. but from the wreckage it looks like the first happened

The only one I feel sorry for is the 19 year old boy. Yes he was an adult at 19, but he would not have had the life experience to know that he shouldn't have risked it. The 4 old men I have no sympathy for. They should have known better. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Darwinism in action. Another father-son pair were apparently originally going to be on that sub. But that son and his friend figured out that something was wrong with the sub, so they backed out.

That carbon fiber hull flexed inward and ejected the titanium cover & glass porthole sounds about right when i think about it. Only a fool would build a submersible out of carbon fiber, it's good on land for a few years, but eventually that resin will become brittle, and start to separate, and anyone who works with the stuff will tell you quick that it doesn't hold up well in water and salt water & being under that kind of pressure. I make carbon fiber for vehicle applications, hoods, spoilers, ground effects ect. ect. no matter how thick anyone makes the carbon fiber, it will flex on land based applications like vehicles, and putting two different materials (titanium and carbon fiber) like that together and expect both materials to perform the same is absolutely ludicrous. I started looking at the design of this particular submersible when i saw in another video of the man using a wireless X-Box gaming controller to operate the submersible, i knew right then that guy was a fruit cake, and crazier than a bag full of cats. How anyone would pay to get inside that thing is pure mind-boggling.

I am so sorry for the lives that went down innocently. But i am so glad that fucker who was responsible was this went down as well. Am I a bad man for thinking like this? EDIT: They were killed by ~10ms, best human reaction is around ~25ms. I hope that fucker was quick enough to realise that he is fucked. I will pray for all the people apart from him.

What is the point of publishing videos that have zero new info? 1000s of these are floating around right now. Only a few channels are doing actual research and engineering!

I wish they could take the creators estate to reimburse families of the deceased and rescue efforts. No one in his family should profit from his stupidity and manslaughter.

reimburse the search team companies and governments first. the families knew the risks and well 'adventure tourism' for the rich it just reeks.
