Excellent!
The Teutonic Knights wore light armor so that they could keep up with the lightly armored Lithuanians and Poles, etc.

how? sure the order lost the land they occupied there but their goal was the christianization of the tribes there and they succeeded in that goal.

King of sun that they tried to convert Orthodox Christians to Catholic Christianity. Pagans at that time almost did not exist, let's say in the 12th and 13th centuries!!

That's sort of a broad criticism, and might also apply to the enemies of the Teutonics as much as any actor in military history.

@@RomanLion The thing is The Lithuanian and Polish kingdoms were states based upon their respective nationalities while the Teutonic State was, in theory at least, a religious order who's only purpose was to convert the Baltic states. Once that was no longer the case after the Union of Krewo, the order no longer had any right to exist.
@RomanLion
Жыл бұрын
@@cov.teo.8131 The Church would've never agreed that the order had no right to exist, so that's merely one perspective. Others, especially the order itself and the Church that sponsored it, would've disagreed with that idea. The views of the order's enemies aren't necessarily factual, they represent one political perspective. In political conflicts throughout history, disagreement is a fact, that's why you have war.
