Yujin is about to pull every contact and favor she has just to investigate where is his corpse/last time he was seen as one, only to spit and step on it before going back to work.

The Japanese inspired Association is modeled after Japan's famously terrible work culture. I do think that when Thelma was being puppeted by Argalia, that was a particularly egregious period for the Shi Association's Southern Branch. However, the work culture of the Shi Association definitely encourages overworking. Something that I *would* to bring up is how overqualified Yujin is. She's a Grade 1 Fixer, and, although dubiously canon, her in game key page is *ridiculously* powerful without the exhaustion passives. However, despite working like a dog, forgoing anything not work related, and rising through the ranks, she is aught but rewarded with a break. So, yeah, the Shi got that shitty work culture, I don't think that this is specifically Thelma's fault.

​@@Delmworks Especially since the Project Moon games both barely exaggerate and bring to light the reality of the society from where the game came from, as well as some other harsh truths of reality as it stands now. The Shi being overworked to the point of being obliterated or close to it is one such facet.

Funny thing is, getting booked was the best thing what could have happend to them. They finally got a break from work and while they where away Thelma got "taken care of." Now if Yujin and crew managed to return in time they can take over south section 2 as originally planned. The only thing stopping them last time was a color fixer backing their boss, but that has also taken care of itself.

A really cool thing about Yujin is that EVERY single passive she has is nerfed. Starts with 3 Dice, but one is perma broken. all dice gain 4 power, but also lose 3 power And even at 25% hp she almost matches basically every other page in terms of health. That;s even the one we get to use! Full Power Yujin is basically color fixer power, while not being color fixer.

I remember seeing a screenshot of her passives being separated in an older version of the game. If it was possible to transfer that stuff without the negatives just like the screenshot implied to me, does that mean you could have 3 die speed(at base emotion level) and +4 Final Power on a different Keypage? Because that sounds so stupidly OP it's hilarious. Smoke Builds with this must be instant death or something, lmao.

The thing that I think people need to remember is that the second and third branches weren't easily replaceable amateurs. They were experienced veterans, and replacing them would be incredibly time-consuming and expensive. So either Argalia just has that much sway... and/or the Shi was already an extremely toxic work environment.

Argalia was explicitly stated to have lots of sway because he was related to Angelica and Roland. Being the brother of Roland's wife is more than enough.

Yujin has a passive that says that is she were not at the edge of exhaustion she would have DICE POWER PLUS 4 to every dice type. The most powerful other coin power boosting effects in the entire city are conditional +2s, Yujin might very well have been color level when in good health. Edit: To make it clear how absurd this is: Activating The Red Mist only gives Gebura / Kali a +3 boost to offense dice, so a smaller boost and not covering defense coins.

Oh hey, in older preview footage for Limbus, Shi Heath actually *didn't* have any self damaging skills or anything involved with his HP being below a certain percentage. In fact all of his skills either did more damage, or gained more power if their *target* was below a certain percentage of HP. Those mechanics feel a bit more like an assassin in flavor(Not a perfect flavor win mind you, but closer to ~feeling~ like something an assassin would have)

While I certainly think there IS some degree of overwork in shi as a whole, I don’t think it’s anywhere near Thelma levels, especially since the yujin thing does imply that shi normally DOES give enough time for their fixers to recover from missions, otherwise yujins crew wouldn’t have brought up the lack of rest it would just be business as usual. Dunno what’s going on at section 5&6 but ATLEAST section 4 would be pretty decent outside of Thelma’s interference

Originally when playing LoR I wasn't really interested in Shi as I'm not a big fan of high risk=high reward type of gameplay. But some time ago I decided to make an IDs for Limbus if Shi got their half-canto(I don't know why, but I have a feeling it will be in Don's Canto), so I did my research and now I'm a big fan of them. The thing that really stuck with is how Yujin treats death, in battle she anknowleges it and thanks for it, because she knows it won't go to waste, one day she will find a moment to strike and change Shi, trying to riot now would be just throwing thoose death into a trashcan.

Hi.

My guess for the twelfth association, the one that would be named in Greek due to sharing Outis sinner number (so Dodeka I think?) is that it's a medical association. This is due to the heavy ties of Greece to medicine, being the origin of the Hippocratic Oath and due to the rod of Asclepius being basically the symbol of medicine to this day. Additionally, the rod of Asclepius makes for an incredibly obvious logo, as a stick with a snake around it could easily become a twelve (rod is the 1, snake is the 2)

Shicliff is the very first unit to have attack weight in his base kit which is probably his unique gimmick besides just being low health

I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Shicliff got attack weight on uptie 4 but uptie 4 was only available after spicebush Yi Sang, who had attack weight in his s2 in uptie 3.

Most other IDs with attack weight in their base kit need to spend resources in order to gain the extra attack weight, meaning they can’t just spam it. Spice bush Sang and Maid Ryoshu, for example. Shi Heathcliff is unique in that he merely needs to be below 50%; as long as that condition is fulfilled, he can spam all he likes.

While I hate Thelma, cuz Yujin deserved better, he’s… terrifying on paper, since Yujin, Shi’s South Section 2 Director, is equated to Xiao, Liu’s South Section 1 Director in strength canonically, and Thelma is a higher rank than Yujin, and as such, is MORE POWERFUL THAN XIAO (not counting E.G.O Xiao obviously for either of the Shi Directors), Xiao could have been a color, and Thelma had to be stronger than Xiao if he was higher up than Yujin, hell, The Blue Reverb didn’t even directly confront Thelma, probably cuz Thelma could fold him, instead, he had to kidnap him while he was vulnerable (likely asleep or sedated) and restrain him, mind you, Argalia is regarded to not be great in terms of Colors as a good fighter. So Thelma could have been a Color if he wasn’t so careless with his lower branches I’m sure. So just… think about that, on how op Thelma actually is. He was just an asshole, really, but one that Argalia couldn’t afford risking a direct confrontation with, kinda shows how weak Argalia really was, or how strong Thelma actually was.

I honestly feel that the Shi were only SO overworked because of Thelma and what we see from the other IDs is just then under that rule....however....hear me out....I do ALOT of research when it comes to associations and their cultural influences too and honestly with all of their Japanese influence i feel the reason so many Shi could be overworked or just exhausted is the fact that it's most likely referencing the Japanse work ethic of neglecting yourself for your company and overworking yourself to absolute exhaustion. Maybe that's why they hired Ishy, because they saw someone who would fit into their workaholic work culture and the Shi take on several aspects of a Black Company and maybe Thelma was just the extreme version of that. I hope the Shi aren't all driven to exhaustion though cause they seem like such a amazing association and I don't want their whole gimmick to just be them being super tired. Use my brain and knowledge thoughhh I have so much City knowledge of fixers and associations i feel myself turning into Don more by the day....

You put this better than I would have, but the black company comparison came up a lot when making this video. I didn't add it in just to keep that separation from real-world experiences but it's great to see the concept still comes through. What you're saying about Ishmael taking it on is a great example, especially since she's one of the most likely to get obsessed with her work and be the one leaned on more than many others

I always love these dives in Associations and Fixers so much and I can't wait to see more! Huh, I never thought about it until now. But you might be right. Every mention of an Association I'm seeing in an ID or a Reception mentions the Southern branch. To me, it makes sense that they'd use all four of the cardinal directions. But without any east or west examples, that might be it. Nice catch

it makes sense that the shi is so exhausted because assassination work might be in high demand. it makes sense that despite how terrible the shi conditions are they must be paid pretty good and get tons of work compared to any other association at a lower grade

The funniet thing about the Shi ID's is the fact that even PMoon knows how popular it is and how everyone has been waiting for new ID's in the association to come out. I have NO DOUBT that the next Shi ID, whenever they are released, will be pretty powerful IDs ever.

It'll be a bit before we get to that, though I'd love to. For now though, we were talking recently about The Pinky in my Discord. Apparently the Liu IDs all fight some bushido-style syndicates that may belong to them. It's 100% in speculation territory, but with the armor being so jagged, and the Ryoshu art showing a potential for enjoying masochism, they could be of the most outwardly brutal Fingers.

my headcanon is that if yuyin and the rest didnt get overworked they would have all started with 100% hp and yujin would have +4 dice power and 270 hp, and having guaranteed boundary of death rolls.

As someone who just started playing library of ruina a few days ago, i can certainly tell you that Kizuna/Extreme Fatigue is truly a peak experience. By the way, 2 Health Hauler Restore 2 HP on every successful hit.
