I was a longtime Apple user, who switched to Android because of foldables and I think that by ignoring the trend of foldables, Apple lost quite a lot of customers. But, I am sure the next iPhone will have even more Emojis, so there is no need to further innovate.

I honestly don't see why the outer screen being too narrow would be a bad thing, it's meant to be easily one-handed and I find the "samsung ultra" to be hard to one hand even in one-handed mode.

Exactly! I’ll use the large screen when needed, and the outer screen should allow us to use it in the most convenient way for quick access.

I don't know why so many fold haters don't understand this simple concept. 🤷‍♂ This guy says around 3:40 it is dumb but maybe he should go back through his iphone collection and pull out a iphone 4/5 and compare the width to this. It worked then and is still usable now.

I have Z Fold 5 and love the front display, it is perfect for daily use. Unfold and use inside screen for anything else

I purchased magic v2 just because of the front screen but guess what happened? I got back to z fold 5 just because of front screen is a way better in one hand use and it also forces you to use the phone unfoldedm. Samsung's software is much better than any other foldable phones...

I just ot mine this week...moved from iPhone. My only struggle now is that it feels too heavy with the case I got. Any advice? I wouldn'twant to go back to smaller phones

Apple guy here and totally agree with you. Innovation stopped with Steve Jobs. They are so far behind. After some statements Tim Cook made about customers and politics, it may be time to change. Basically, if you don’t agree, we don’t want ya.

The M1 chip was innovation and a game changer. There is nothing on the intel side that can hang unless it's doubling as a hot plate and yes an Android phone is my main daily driver.

@selw0nk True but Apple is mainstream. Jobs said it himself, they make the equivalent of appliances. Unlike you and I, my fellow tech geek, most people just want simple that works.

I think the one reason Samsung went with the tall narrow cover screen was so that the inner display would open into a more rectangular shape. That matters because when you have a more "normal" 20:9 aspect ratio you end up with an inner display that is basically square. And what that means is that if you're watching content you're not really getting much more screen real-estate than you would just watching on the cover screen.

Idk why people hate the narrow front screen. If you used an iPhone 5s before it’s pretty much the same . It’s perfect for me. I miss being able to use a phone with one hand. And still having the option to have a big screen when you unfold . Samsung did their big one ☝️

The outer screen is not the main screen. Your main screen is the inner screen. This is how samsing made the phone. Your supposed to open it and use the inner screen

Never lead with the negatives when doing reviews of something you overall like. You list positives then go into details, mention the negatives and end with positives

1:50 That's not an auto-dimming issue at all; what's happening is that your screen is timing out to conserve battery. To fix this, go to Settings - Display - Screen timeout & select a longer time. You can also toggle on the 'keep screen on while viewing' setting available under the same menu, which does what it says. 8:50 Palm rejection is available in Samsung Notes. Open a new note - click on the 3-dot menu on the upper right - tap on 'finger drawing off'. Once you do this, the setting is remembered for all notes.

I had the fold 4 for a year with no problems what so ever and my 12 year old daughter has the flip 3 since launch and no problems with that either apart from a few scratches from dropping it. I traded in the fold 4 for the 5 😅 the 5 is amazing. I won't go back to a normal phone.

I LOVE how narrow the phone is when its closed. It gives you easier access to use the phone using it one handed and u can reach anywhere. Why have this phone to do what you want to do on the front if ur not gonna open it up to do what you want more easier with a bigger display. The fact that its heavy is something I LOVE too. When the phone's in my pocket I always know where my phone is. It differentiates from my wallet by being heavier and know easier which pocket my phone is at all times. I love that its like a candybar in my pocket too. Also the wobbly part your talking about is more of a case thing not a phone thing. Get a different case if u dont like that. I've had the Fold 2, 3 and now I have the 5. I was blown away at all the features from the S24 Ultra and I dig it but still prefer the Fold 5 due to its form factor. I dont even use all the features or need them. Thats all folks. 😃

One Plus foldable has better form factor. I use Apple and Android, my daily is Samsung Z Flip 5. You can change auto dimming in display settings. Peace

I quit the iphone with this phone as well!!!! such a great phone!

I have the fold 5 since November, everything is working perfectly. I had issues with the cover screen being too narrow, but it really became very normal to use it. I still would like for it to be a bit wider, like a 21:9 aspect, but currently it's an amazing phone as it is. It's just so fun to have something so different in a world where every phone is almost the same as all the others

I think in a lot of ways I have all the Apple products but one thing I realized overtime is that my iPhone 15 Pro Max bill exactly like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which felt like my iPhone X really tired of buying the same phone over and over again with such a lack of innovation Planning on leaving Apple system and I’m really mad at Apple for not innovating they have lost me.

After working in a phone repair store, i will never one of those flip phone, they are build to break

Apple fanboy BS! I have had the Z-Fold now for 4 years and never had an issue. Only twice the protective layer had to be replaced FOR FREE. My wife has the Flip now for 2 years and never had an issue.

yeah a brand new s23 ultra will set you back $1k, and a ipad mini with cellular is $549 so basically you're paying $100 to combine the 2 and save money with your data plan

You know, this is way better than any other phone plus tablet now. Damn good stuff! Cheap price for 2 things in one hand.

Its not diming automatically it goes into a sleep or standby mode to conserve battery 🔋

It 'dims' whatever the light to save battery, a type of screen saver/battery saver. Doesn't an iPhone do this!? Haven't had an iphone since the number 4 & would never go back. Also getting rid of Mac after having a few for 18 years due to the Sonoma disaster update (slowed everything down on a 2019 Mac, shocking update caused nothing but problems)...

If Apple made a Folding phone the price would double the Galaxy Z Fold 5 to like 3k. Another thing some apps on Android are free where's on IOS they are paid apps.

Apple never was the first on anything on the iPhone but they also put the features other phones already had but made those features 100% perfect when they did implement those features. Best believe when Apple does bring a folding iPhone it will be incredible.

The Z-Fold is INCREDIBLE. Apple smartphones don't even support multi-tasking and multi-window? No DEX. No S-pen. No themes. What's the use of a Foldable if it doesn't support multi-tasking, mulit-window and the rest. It will take Apple yeeeears to catch up with Samsung.

I also love my Z Fold 5, but I miss a lot about the iPhone. Try unlocking the Z Fold 5 at dusk with gloves on. You'll quickly realize how good Face iD is. I also really miss Airdrop & imessage. And no, even Snapdrop is not really a good alternative. So, in order to be at least 90% happy outside the Apple Cosmos, an alternative to the Macbook Pro must first be found, possibly the Galaxy Book 4 - but whether that can convince is still in the stars.

Ugly crease in between the fold screen and poor camera for £ 1800, not acceptable

I just bought one. I love it so much but I already ditched apple awhile ago. Those phone is epic. The fold 6 should be epic

How good is the battery life

I don’t care about the thickness, as long as we get more battery life I used to have galaxy edge than switch to Apple all these years I can’t wait until the z fold 6 comes out. The z fold 5 narrowness is my deal breaker.

6:40 okay I'm not exactly the strongest man on Earth, but if you're having trouble opening or closing this phone with ease you need to see a doctor. You shouldn't be struggling to pry it open with a fingernail or using a thumb to push on the bottom of it.
