Why the PRS Custom 24 is the BEST Guitar I've Ever Played...

Музыка

As a guitarist with over 40 guitars in my collection and the owner of Spirit Dance Guitars, I've played hundreds of instruments throughout my journey. But none have bewitched me quite like the PRS Custom 24!
In this video, I share my personal story of how the PRS Custom 24 rewired my brain and redefined what a truly incredible guitar can be. From the moment I unboxed my first turquoise PRS Custom 24 on my 50th birthday, I knew I had found something special.
The build quality, playability, tones, and versatility were unmatched, and the connection I felt with the guitar was instant. A few months later, I couldn't resist adding another to my collection - a stunning 2020 model in faded blue whale.
Join me as I dive deep into what makes these guitars so extraordinary, comparing the two models in my possession and exploring the perfect combination of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and innovation that sets PRS guitars apart.
Whether you're a seasoned guitarist or just starting your journey, this video will leave you inspired and craving the experience of playing a PRS Custom 24 for yourself.

Agreed - the Pattern thin is amazing. My 2003 has the Wide thin profile which is ever so slightly different, but by very little. The surprise for me was that the Pattern Regular is just as comfortable and I barely register any difference between the two. Have an awesome day!

@@jayguitar Yes... the Regular is VERY close to the Pattern Thin Specs to the point most couldn't tell any difference. I've been researching the 2024 PRS Hollow-Body Vela to have something different in my stable and I was really happy to learn it has the Pattern Regular Neck. I tried the SE Hollowbody II Piezo with the Wide Fat Neck and didn't like it. It was just too much work.

@@JTB-- I can imagine the wide fat won’t work for my hands either. Also I find that the SE necks feel fatter than the core series, plus there isn’t much roll on the edge of the fretboard.

Sometimes the hype is real, im usually a doubter, but when i played a custom 24 i couldnt believe the difference in my playing and how much i liked it. I worked hard to get 2 raises and eventually bought a brand new one. To this day it blows me away more than any of my strats or Les Pauls and it kinda baffles me. Its like my playing comes to life apart from me. So weird. It truly inspires my playing.

Hi Jay. I used to follow you years ago until I decided to cut way back on my KZread time. A couple of times recently I thought, I wonder what Jay is up to. Today I checked, and this was the first video I found, and it has special meaning to me. I had bought a core series Custom 24 maybe a dozen years ago and had passed it on to my son so he had a good guitar to learn on and enjoy. Sadly, we lost our son in 2022, so I got the guitar back. But in a week, our son’s best friend is coming to visit us, and he’ll be going home with that guitar. No better place in the world for it.

Usually the best guitar to a person is the one they connect with in many ways. I had a Red flame maple top Jackson Performer back in 2002 that was damaged badly by my granddaughter, who knocked it over off its stand and broke the neck and scratched the body horridly when it hit the table and an end table that snapped the headstock. I could not be mad at her because she was only 2 years old. But I wish I still had that guitar. HSS and it just sounded amazing!

I've been lucky enough to own quite a few "top end" guitars. The two I now play more than anything are my trusty old Hamer (USA Centaura) and a PRS Custom24 35th anniversary. The PRS is just ridiculously good at everything. The Hamer has a lot of nostalgia attached to it for me, and is great in it's own right, but the PRS is actually faultless.

  • @Scott__C

@@Scott__C Itr is shame i admit, but from a standpoint of hard working semish pro musician and guitar tool designer etc like myself who is not rich, well i can afford some Hamer guitars ☺. All of them are great to be honest depending from the model people like, and for me personally they were the best US made guitars ever. PRS is good, but Hamer is another level. Standard is above gibis explorer, after all people forget that Hamer were made by people who were improving the best era Gibis. Their modern shred guitars were groundraking.

@@jayguitar I hope you get one for yourself, up to few years ago you could find them even under 1k$US, today they usually cost more, but still since it's a bit forgotten brand some brilliantly made Hamer shredding guitars can be found a lot cheaper then PRS. PRS a sort of copied Hamer a bit, if i remember correctly he was working with them for a short period of time? Maybe i messed up infos in my older age lol. Enjoy in your PRS it0s great looking and sounding guitar. P.S. i like your ESP, and i like even that Vintage JHS LP that you have they are great guitars and silly cheap. Old Robin guitars also, BC Rich MIJ from late 80's are also brutally good, luckelly not expensive ☺..Oh or i should say they are terrible guitars becouse maybe someone will read all this. So please don't get any of those guitars, or ESP Korean neck-through? No they are not good at all ☺

I have a dozen guitars and the 3 Les Pauls I have a nearly unplayable for me even my Custom Shop R9 VOS the necks are so tacky to me. I need the slide...
