Never saw other movies but this looks like a good movie I won't miss.

Watched the movie today and they did such justice with a memorial to Cameron. The movie was beautiful and the soundtrack is on point!

Movie was lowkey horrible, im pretty sure they half assed it, I saw the green screen backdrop in the shot with Cinderella and her daughter. And they did them so dirty with those wigs gurl. And the jam packed action and all that into the last 20 minutes???? Cmon?!?! They are frickin DISNEY, they have the budget to do better, like DUDE?!?!?! Btw, you seen the lion king broadway show where they put in a kid that had no talent for any acting or singing???, they basically just did that but gave the girls a little acting and some sucky random songs. But I can say the memorial to Cameron was really sweet.

the old cast will be missed and the 3 movies will always be special but the new film is just a good. i cant wait to watch it

Really miss Carlos. I’m so sad he died. I thought that’s why they were not returning and it might be but it’s just so sad. I’m gonna miss Mel so much she was Rotten to the Core and so is Evie and Jay and Carlos, but Mal Mal was the Most evil out of all of them. Who agrees with me like My comment if you agree with me

Maybe she changed her mind whole grieving. Also sometimes celebrities are coached to speak positively about a franchise they’re in even if they don’t actually agree with what they are saying. Especially Disney actors

Its hard to tell, I feel like, in a way, Camron Boyce would want them to finish the story they created, but in another way, it does feel wrong to make another movie. Like, im sure it will be an amazing movie. It's just hard to think of it as descendants without the og vks.

well the original VK's story ended in the special, Descendants: A Royal Wedding. at the end, a voice over for Mal said something like "our story may be over, but I know one that's just starting" and panned over to red painted white roses and a rabbit hole (reference to Alice in Wonderland). so from that point on, it was known that any future movies wouldn't focus on Mal and her friends anymore, but new characters

Me too and that's why I'm not going to watch descendants 4 I saw a clip from the rise of red and it was like where the heck is the original cast

I believe this movie will be a hit on the newer generation that didn’t grow up on the original descendants it was okay in my opinion but it just didn’t really hit me like the older ones did

The CGI in this movie is a lot better then what was in the other 3 movies

I Understand Everyone Is Excited About The 4th Movie Of Descendants But I Think It Would Be Better As A Spin Off. Not As Descendants 4. Yes, The New Generation Needs To Be Embraced But I Think It Would Have Been Better If They Just Made It As A Separate Portion. Descendants 3 Had The Perfect Ending And I Don’t Think All Of This Needs To Be Added On To It, Not To Mention The New Things I’ve Heard There Adding Would Make The Original Story Line Confusing.

I miss the old characters in descendants 😭😭😭😭😭😭 rip Cameron aka Carlos

They can’t even call it descendants without the main cast but it will still be a great movie

to simplify they all decided that it’s not right to make it without carlos and that it would be although nostalgic it would be quite traumatic

It’s going to feel like a whole new franchise without Kenny Ortega, and it definitely wouldn’t be the same without Cameron. Rise of Red looks pretty good, though. I’m excited.

When I first heard about time travel and meeting the new(technically old) villains involved, I'm surprised I'm not hearing that young Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella are not involved in this one 😯

It’s a shame but it’s their decision I honestly can’t wait for the Rise of Red Even because Wonderland is one of my favorite fictional worlds Everything is just so bonkers and wonderlandiful in a great way

I think you should release it to the theaters and make it out a movie p epix like Disney Plus it'll make a better appearance DVD hits everyone not just in certain places

I know its strange to not see the original Cast on screen and they made the descendants what it is today and no hate to the new actors you all did a greatjob but I just cant imagine descendants without the amazing original cast and to Cameron you will be truly missed thank you guysfor carrying on a legacy that so many people love and to the original cast I truly hope that we will get to see you reprise your roles but we totally i understand if you don't want to with lots of love❤❤❤❤

I'm not really particularly excited for descendants 4 for many reasons but I hope it's something watchable. I also don't think it needed a fourth like alot of other series but I hope it won't be as bad and atrocious as Kung fu panda 4 🙏🙏 hoping it won't 😅

I respect there decision and understand why they did not want to come back. Although I have to say I have watched it and it is a totally new movie. The producers should have just made a whole new movie and new movie series. The plot is very different. Although good the movie does not feel like a descendants movie.

As much as all of us old school DKs (Disney Kids) who are now probably DPs (Disney Parents) wiuld have loved to see the old cast that we grew to love... I guess it would be same as with any other movie that may have lost that one person that STOLE our hearts. We have to give the NEW generation a chance to rise and show their talents so we can fall in love with someone new. I feel that pain too that it wouldn't be the same without Cameron but its like that sad saying goes "The SHOW must go ON!!!" So bringing in new players to the game would give us something to look forward to. In my opinion. I hope we can embrace tgem the way we did the original.

I love the way they told an original story, and didn’t try to redo it. It’s a lovely movie, no hate to the new movie whatsoever, it feels right they didn’t have the original characters.

The movie finished with descendants 3. They're right. Without Boyce and without the og cast it's just doesn't make any sence 💔

While I understand why all the original characters are not going to return, it would have been amazing to see them. The original characters will always be in our hearts. RIP Carlos (Cameron Boyce) you will forever be missed.

For the people wandering about the royal wedding Disney released in animated royal wedding. So that was the royal wedding that everybody got❤

I just watched the movie and in my opinion it could do wayyy better. Like I thought soo many plot twists for the plot but they just go for the most simple and easiest way to save Orendont (ik I spelled wrong) with no twists. Nothing compared to the other movies

I think the real reason why the original Descendants cast wasn’t supposed to return in Descendants 4: The Rise of Red is because of Cameron Boyce’s passing in 2019. It’s true that the new cast was actually very different. Kylie Cantrall was the fitting choice for Red. I was even lucky that China Anne McClain from A.N.T. Farm and Descendants 2 & 3 returned to play Uma. Even Ruby Rose Turner from Coop & Cami Ask the World made the choice to star in Descendants 4. I still love Kylie Cantrall because I’m a huge fan. Especially since I really enjoyed the movie. And if I ever get to watch all four Descendants movies, I’ll definitely have a fun time.

The title descendants means the children of Disney’s heroes and villains. Despite the fact that the original cast is not coming back the rise of red is still focusing on the children of Disney’s heroes and villains. So it makes sense they would continue with that title.
