Of course we will enjoy your video. We always do. And this is a particularly honest review too. The S9 would not appeal to me and I think it is a deeply flawed camera. I will stick with my Fuji's and Nikon Zf's. And speaking of the Zf, I just picked up a new Viltrox 85mm 1.8 Full Frame Z-Mount lens and so far I absolutely love it. Have a good weekend, Phil.

Thank you soo much!! 🙏 Viltrox has really amazing lenses at awesome value for the Nikon Z mount. Had the 24mm for few days to play around and was really surprised at the excellent performance. Enjoy your new lens! Speaking of the Zf, a small teaser for you - I finally ordered an adapter and it arrived. Was able to play around with my Zf and my Leica lenses - just beautiful. Am spannendsten bei Panasonic ist Real Time Lut. Hoffe und wünsche Panasonic viel Erfolg mit dem Lut Feature in Verbindung mit der Lumix Lab App. Das könnte die anderen Anbieter dazu bewegen hier auch mal was vernünftiges zu bringen. Danke für deinen Interessant Kanal. Ist abonniert!

It’s always frustrating seeing a new camera release, and immediately think “a mark 2 of this would be great”. A B-Cam for video shooters seems like its best use case. Hope you’re doing well!

Thanks man! I’m still struggling to understand this release without being too negative about the S9. I also thought a B cam is a good use, but seeing how people do interviews for example, where B cams have great use, the record limit is just a no go. And just to record reels and TikTok dance clips paying 1500 bucks … I don’t know 😅 hope you and your family are also doing well :) I’m literally on my way to the zoo with both kids WITHOUT my wife - let’s see how things will go, have a camera on me just in case, since I still need some sample stills for my upcoming video 😀

It’s not even an z cam for video, my pocket 3 doesn’t have a record limit and this thing has what 10 or 15 minutes? lol they need to push that firmware update to salvage this launch

Red Digital Camera, Sony Camera, LUMIX Camera and Alexa shooter here. Video wise the image on the S9 sensor (it has the same sensor as S5ii) is superior to the A7C in two aspects. 1.) Highlight areas of the images captured on the S9 sensor has a smoother rolloff, and can be cut and mixed with images captures Red Cinema and Alexa cameras easily. The Sony sensors have “crunchy” highlight roll off and harder to mix footage with RED cameras even if you use the same exact lens. 2.) Just Like a RED Cinema Camera the S9 records in 6K. You can capture videos on the S9 and then when editing you can ZOOM into the image 35% and you will still have the same amount of resolution as the A7C. If you’re capturing documentary or wedding videos… and you want to capture shots in 50mm but down want to miss anything that might spontaneously happen you can use a wide 35mm, and zoom in when editing to get the a 40mm, 45mm or 50mm focal length and you will still be left with a 4K image. With the A7C if you zoom into the image when you edit you no longer have a 4K image. It is below 4K now

Totally agree with you, video specs the LUMIX blows almost any camera out of the water, because of the price. The in my opinion the S5II is the best camera for professional use as you described it. The S9 is somehow marketed to aim at short form content creation and here I think most people just don’t care as much about video quality, because the audience of short form content can barely see the difference of well graded iPhone footage and a professional camera, specially when watched on a small phone screen. If you throw in photography in my opinion eyes the A7C has a bit of an advantage. But as I said totally agree on your opinion regarding the video specs of the LUMIX. All I see are complaints about the time limit. I understand it's not ideal, but LUMIX implemented this to prevent overheating. I hope LUMIX ignores all of this criticism. I can work with predictable 10/15/20-minute limits, but unpredictable rampant overheating during shoots is unacceptable. I’m looking at you (every single modern Sony camera under 3k aside from the fx30.)

It‘s great the S9 will fit for your use case. For me personally I record often beyond 20min because I do a lot of mistakes in my talking head shots. Therefore the S9 is not for me, although I really like the small form factor. Thanks for watching!

A7c (mark 1) rocks...Panasonic has lost it for me...They do not seem to want to continue the GX9/mark11 plus the OM does not have any new Pen F model...I have sold all my M43 gear...(even before the S9 came out ). I got tired of waiting for Panasonic or OM...Anyway Sony makes just as many small bodies with lots of smallish lenses...Cheers.

100% agree. The A7C is still an amazing camera and one of the more modern compact size full frame cameras, which still has class leading AF, if someone priorities AF. I still cheer for Panasonic trying to get into the small camera body market, but this S9 just looks weird to me, specially combined with the marketing strategy.

I do not understand this "LUT hype", it's nothing new, i have been creating my own custom LUTs in my E-P7 for 2 years (directly in the camera, changing each color separately as well as contrast and shadows) and I can even save 4 custom color and 4 custom b/w luts in the camera itself. And yes, it works for both photo and video, even in 4K uncropped.

Lol the S9 wouldn’t have made it, since I recorded about 20min 😂 And the colour skin is simply not good because I’m partly colour blind and just suck at colour grading 😅😀

@@IntrovertAmateur I just hope the price of the S9 drops drastically. It’s definitely a good VLOG camera , but it’s too expensive ~ $799. It’s basically invincible. Do you need a camera? Nowadays, almost everyone has several cameras that can take pictures. But I don’t even have a camera to take videos~

@@ROOOMC I think even at 1000$ it would blow the competition out of the water, but at its current price totally agree with you, too expensive, simply because it‘s in house competition S5 II (sure you would lose the form factor) cost currently the same price on the used market.

@@IntrovertAmateur if they lower the price by 300$/€ and remove the ridiculous record limit and this camera would be really compelling. But no matter the price point with 15min in 4K it's dead in the water for me, no matter how much I like the ibis and the rest

I think the Lumix Lab app is gonna creep up on people. The S9 will be a slow burn, but I think once people get their hands on it, and see how much TIME it saves, it will pick up steam for sure. Updates to it will be on the way also.

hopefully all the S9 negativity doesn't stop future developments on compact cameras or trying to explorer and innovate into different product niches. I would rather variety in products then every manufacturer just making the same derivative product lines, its the only way I'll see my perfect camera ever being made.

I believe if Panasonic enables the S9 with more recording time via firmware, the negativity might get relative. Since in my opinion there is definitely a market for small cameras with full frame sensors I just hope other companies look at this S9 feedback to develop an even better one for the future.

The lack of an EVF is a deal breaker for me. I too like small and compact bodies. I was hoping for an updated GX8. A full frame GX8 would have been acceptable. The S9 is marketing to content creators. I hope Panasonic is successful. If they had included an EVF, mechanical shutter, and a hot shoe the market for this body would have been more successful. I know this body is aimed at videographers. I don’t like the flip screen. I prefer the flip screen. The recording limit of the S9 is understandable. The small body size prevents a fan or other cooling techniques. I don’t want to wait a year for the Fuji X100VI. As a result, I am taking your advice and purchased an A7C with the 35/2.8. This is a cheaper full frame Fuji X100VI. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
