    He doesn’t throw with anticipation. He can’t throw guys open. He doesn’t keep his eyes downfield. He has proven that in many games against college level competition. He was a NFL bust in college bro. You should’ve taken Penix cause you needed a ready to go guy. If you had the right coaches and ability to sit a guy a year you could’ve taken Maye. I’ve thought the same. JD is actually fairly comparable as a passer compared to burrow. Both called their own protections at the line, both called audibles, both were excellent going through reads and progressions, both had excellent ball placement, accuracy, and deep passing, great footwork, both had just slightly above average arm strength… the fact that they both had excellent receivers and broke out after transferring to LSU is only a small part of their similarities. As a runner obviously there’s no comparison, but that’s a plus in Jayden Daniel’s favor. Regardless, if JD were a white qb who was somewhat mobile but not a serious weapon on the ground would we be having this same discussion? I don’t think so. When we look at a qb we look for pre/post snap adjustments, reads, footwork, timing, accuracy, ball placement, release quickness, leadership, and arm strength. Besides arm strength JD is the best at all of those other things in the draft. All of that translates to the nfl. Drake may isn’t good at half of those things and is the more likely bust imo. You can tell that they’re trying to reduce JD to an archetype rather than evaluate him as a passer by all the people who are trying to compare him to RGIII. If RGIII was as talented at reading defenses and getting through progressions as JD is he would still be playing in the nfl and the shannahans wouldn’t have ever had to run a read option offense his rookie year.

    Valid points on getting hit and not looking to pass and extend plays. He has slid and knows how to because he’s shown it. He needs to learn not to rush up the a-b gap and be fine taking 5-10 yrds towards the sideline. He’s a much better passer than people give him credit for.. all 3 of of the guys at lsu got better together.. Jayden had to get comfortable in the offense. Also you kept saying 2500 yrds when to me it read 2900 yrds in 2022.. don’t know if you are intentionally misleading by saying 2500 in 2022 and then a big jump to 3800 in 2023 when it was 2900 to 3800..

Obviously, we can look at all the QBs drafted and find weaknesses or reasons for them to fail. Caleb didn’t have the type of season this year that he had in 2023. Sooooo. Only time will tell. Great QBs are made great by receivers that can catch and run routes at the least. Good QBs at the least need a oline and time to throw. We never know how any of these QBs will transition to the NFL. Nevertheless, all of the QBs can be judged positively or negatively if you looking for criticism

  • @clintpreslar452
    @clintpreslar452Ай бұрын

    I think he’s the riskiest pick in the draft. McCarthy is risky cause he was never asked to do much, but at the least he can be a solid backup. I worry about Daniels getting injured and throwing to short. He could get away with throwing short of receivers when he had amazing receivers that could get tons of separation, but in the NFL defenses will not allow that separation and only the elite of the elite like Justin Jefferson can get that. Not the mention Washington’s oline let Howell get destroyed in the backfield a ton last season. Luckily for them Howell is kinda stout and good at taking hits, so it didn’t get him injured. Daniels should be able to avoid sacks better than Howell, but I don’t know if he can avoid being injured, especially if he runs into some of those elite defenders in the league. I also like to look at the talent qbs had around them and there wasn’t a better receiving core than LSU last season, so you have to factor in how much that helped Daniels numbers. Put him on a team like UNC like Maye and I don’t think Daniels comes close to those numbers. I think he is tremendously talented at a college level, I just don’t think it’ll workout in the pros where everyone is bigger, stronger, and faster.

    I'm amazed how this guy says he will be a bust before taking a single snap. He very well, maybe, but an argument he made was how bad he was after Brandon Left Arizona. You can make that claim of most QB's if their receivers can't get open. As a QB, he still has to get the ball to the receiver, and it's much easier to get it to someone who can beat their opponent. He may have had better receivers at LSU, but he demonstrated he can he the receivers when they beat their guy. It's a team sport, and if the pieces are around him, he will be fine, but if they aren't, he will struggle like most QB's would in that situation.

    There is bias in this comment since I'm a Commanders fan but I have the ability to look at things objectively... this is surface level review of Jaydens career, you mentioned the covid year and then used that to take a jab at him for playing with Aiyuk, okay and then you failed to highlight that he does take care of the ball and improved on that after he had a down season with 10 tds and 10 int.. I just dont see how you can call him a bust when there has been grow in his career and he has experience, been starting QB since Freshman yr of high school.. I will say his biggest flaw is pocket presence and thats gonna be a issue with us cus our OL isnt up to par, also he will have to understand he needs to get down and protect hiself in the league.. but most of the guys he will face in his career hes seen them in college so hell be fine.. just wait and see, you should be assessing Derek Carr skills since you have a Saints hat on.. I wouldnt be surprise if Rattler gets out there and goes crazy lol.. EDIT: I JUST REALIZED YOU THINK JJ MCCARTHY IS THE BEST QB IN THE DRAFT BUT CHEKCING YOUR OTHER VIDS.. HELL NO LMAOO

    Well, Joe Burrow was the exact same, and he also had Chase and Jefferson to throw to. He also has a stacked WR corp now. If Jayden Daniels fails with the Commanders, it will be the supporting cast around him, not the player himself. Once it clicks in your head and you can see the throws, if he's delivering it and putting were it needs to be and the targets are not coming down with it, that's not on Daniels. Plus, he would be a MUCH better QB in Vegas with the Raiders and the weapons they have than in Washington with the team they have even though Jahad is A BEAST! The O-line in Washington is a concern for me. They have some solid weapons, though! I don't know who the RB is, but they have 2 WRs in Dotson and Terry. But that O-line will be a problem

  • @CKNash1871
    @CKNash1871Ай бұрын

    So you said that Jayden Daniels was propped up by Nabers and Thomas (I am assuming also Lacey) I would agree if they only played with him 23-24 but in one of his lesser seasons 22-23 they also played with Jayden Daniels and did not put up numbers, so it appears that the maturation of Jayden Daniels and his WR in 23-24 created a Heisman year, not his WR alone as they were just good in the prior year and it could be argued that Jayden Daniels elevated their game. Also, you mention B. Aiyuk, his numbers were not chart-topping, good but not great, definitely not Nabers/Thomas's 23-24 numbers but more their 22-23 numbers. This leads me to believe that Jayden Daniels is the constant. The only part I agree with is that running in the NFL sliding is a must, but he could just do Russel Wilson side line to side line and never get touched. Note: RGIII years turned bad not because of injury but because of managing injury i.e. Mike and Snyder, instead of having smart leadership who protect assets he was allowed to play hurt this is with future Hall of Famer T. Williams. Also, know that the Commanders drafted Kirk Cousins who by the numbers is one of the most accurate passers (So Washington had a fallback plan even if it was supposed to be Russell Wilson/who won the Super Bowl). Choosing the QB did not ruin 2012 it was poor management of the team (which is different now so How do we know what will happen- Chase Young did not get the RGIII treatment hmmm). You gave past data to say he is a bust, believing Drake Maye (inconsistent but could improve Trevor Lawrence) or JJ McCarthy (Run Heavy team - Kirk Cousins 2.0) would have given a better shot No, they interviewed them all and chose who was best for them. Saying Daniels is a bust over JJ McCarthy and Drake Maye is your perspective the numbers do not show this great margin of difference aside from the Heisman year which neither of the latter has. Whose better SEC, Big Ten, ACC? JJ McCarthy managed not to mess up the Championship but the running backs and Defense of Michigan won the game QB managed and the Commanders do not need a game manager (Vikings said as much with Kirk Cousins even though they have 2.0 now) Just saying Check the facts first and give an unbias opinion.
