Why the Honda CL500 is so Much FUN To Ride | In-Depth Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Even though Honda's new CL500 is build on it's existing 500 platform, it tries to differentiate itself from the crowd with it's looks and the amount of FUN it can pump through your veins.
We take it through it's paces all around and discover what little secrets this small motorcycle is hiding.

    Too much exhaust system for me, AND that stupid misplaced turn signal and horn location keeps me away from Honda. Otherwise, we need more do everything mid sized bikes like this.

    Good grief... Dave's right!! It's three bikes in one. Haha... i just couldn't put my finger on it but he's cracked it. 😂 Still going to get one in the near future, though, but without all that awful white plastic.

    Your reviews are good, only if you could, also, test the LIGHTS - in darkness ( most "reviewers" don't do ). For some, it is not an issue. They either, young with good eyesight, or never ride in dark.... But for some it IS pretty important. I mean - ALL the bikes you test - not only this one.

    I have a green one without the white bits and with the black seat. Absolutely love this bike! My only complaint is the hard seat…your ass starts declaring war after about an hour.

    I pick mine up tomorrow....as a chilled alternative to my BMW K1600gt, for exploring the many pretty but extremely rough country lanes in my area (which the test ride showed it to excel at). I found it great fun to ride... so much so I dropped the idea of a Triumph Scrambler 400x as for me a 400 single can't really compete against the well proven 500 motor...the Triumph looks great but thats not my primary consideration and I like the look of the Honda in the flesh too (somehow mich better than it looks in videos etc).

    Congrats! Have a question for you, how are the vibration at speed after 100-110 km/h? I notice a high frequency annoying vibration at this speed at 6th gear. Curios is it all the same or just the one I have tested?

    @@jermanyatko Thanks....I noticed some mild vibes (bearing in mind I'm used to the silky smooth 6 cylinder I'm used to), but nothing that bothered me at all. I had considered the Himalayan 450, but the vibes from that were on a whole different level compared to the Honda. I will report back again when I've done a few miles.

    The general public may like quick shifters for their convenience. But the original purpose of quick shifters was to improve acceleration while drag racing. Low horsepower motorcycles can use the most help with acceleration. Therefore the lower the horsepower the more sense a quick shifter makes.

    Welcome back, we missed your sly humor. Time to try the new Kawasaki Eliminator 500 (451 in US), they pretend it is a cruiser, but the middle foot peg position betrays that. It is really what we used to call a Standard.

  • @erniecolussy1705

    @erniecolussy1705

    The Eliminater line goes back to the mid 1980's. It is a drag style or drag race style motorcycle. The first Eliminator was based on the Ninja 900 engine. The Eliminators have a length and low seat height similar to cruiser style. Think length and low for limiting wheelies when drag racing. The handlebars and foot pegs are more similar to standard or nake sport style. This is to hang onto the bike when accelerating. Of course very few really buys these later Eliminators for drag racing. It is frustrating that so many dealership sales personnel don't know the history or other details of the products they sell.

    I couldn't help but notice that exhaust, seriously I thought the end can on my GS was big but wow the drag on that bad boy must cost about 20 mph top speed. They're trying to create a new section I think called the parts bin special

    The engine 46cc.. It is NOT a lot. How did it jump to 500cc suddenly? Variable displacement? How about the rear foot pegs? Different distance from the center of the bike! That (46cc) engine is far from the best honda can do. Reliable, but not what I expect from honda. And that raised exhaust... try mounting your side boxes. Those hoses by the rear wheel are something that I've always known, what you moaning about?

    Grade "A" for presentation especially for your first review back. We know Honda can make some really stylish bikes that handle, sound great and are value for money but I don’t think this is one. If it was a girl it would be the last one chosen at the closing time of the bar. Your an artist on reviews but the model posing in this video is rather dull.
