To date, the F15 is over 110 and 0 in air to air combat... however... when a single F22 was sent up against F15's flown by F22 pilots.... the F22 went 40-0 against the F15s.... and this is why the F22 is considered the 'scariest thing to take to the air since the Cretaceous Period' because as good as the F15 is.. the F22 is even better...

As far as i know. The F-15 is the only fighter to land with one wing. In Israel there was a F-15 and another fighter training in dog fighting. Unfortunately there was a mid air collision. Causing the other fighter to crash. The pilot in the F-15 realized the more speed he gave the F-15, which had one wing. The more stable the F-15 became. The pilot of the F-15 hit the gas, flew the one wing F-15 back to base. Made a successful emergency landing. Engineers from all over( mostly American and Israeli) to study the F-15 with only one wing, and how it landed.

Yes I have heard of this and it’s mental that it managed to actually fly with only one wing.

In WW2 the Corsair, Mustang and P-38 were designed because we had enormous losses from German and Japanese fighters. After Sputnik was launched our space program went into overdrive. The F-15 was built to counter a perceived threat to air superiority. Lately though, we’re ahead of everyone by using stealth technology. Moral of the story: we keep working through problems towards a goal, even if it’s impossible.

Intriguing. The pairing of the only 2 military planes not to be shot down - it's hard to imagine any one being able to beat them in combat. The 2 planes never to be shot down are the SR-71 BlackBirds ( Spy Plane ) and the F-15 Eagles ( Fighter Plane ). The SR-71'S gets the intelligence and then the F-15'S are configured for their missions and off goes the Eagles.

Once again, they claimed Mach 3......it only ever pulled 2.8, nose down and the motors chewed themselves apart if the pilot tried to keep it there....this includes the improved Mig-31 as well. Russians never live up to the hype.

Hey brother, as one vet to another, keep up the good work. Your reactions and perspective are quite interesting and entertaining. I also have a point of clarification for you in terms of the information presented in the video, mostly because I was lucky enough to call some members of the F-15 and SR-71 project mentors while in college. Energy maneuverability theory was the brainchild of a certain John Boyd, who basically wasn't involved in anything other than very early development of the F-15, and he (along with his supporters) wanted the F-15 to be basically a gun fighter. His proposed design spec involved no radar, no missiles, and even proposed no substantial internal fuel tank; having the plane rely on external fuel drop pods. As such, while most of this video is correct, John Boyd and his theory were not a significant part of the development of the jet. He and his group of like-minded individuals called themselves the "fighter plane mafia", and operated more as obstacles to US combat aircraft development than they did as visionaries. A perfect example of this would be Pierre Sprey, who claims to have designed the F-15, F-16, and A-10. He had no hand in any of the designs that would be chosen for military service.

This really just shows how intel analysts are paid to OVER-estimate enemy capabilities. It's always best to assume your enemy is more capable than they actually are.

The F15 is a beautiful beast of a fighter jet. The F22 is a gorgeous fighter jet and is obviously the best fighter jet in the world, but the F15 just screams power. The fact that it has a rate of climb of 50,000ft per minute is incredible. That means it can reach its service ceiling of 60,000ft in less than 2 minutes... and the fact that the F15 is getting a second iteration in the F15EX Eagle II, with essentially the same airframe, speaks volumes as to how good the F15 airframe is.

MiG 15 used the jet engine designed by the British in WW 2. Licensed it to the USSR after the war.

For the US fear is what has led the greatest projects in history. Definitely not the best motive sonce we don't do nearly as well at anything without some potential violent conflict motivating us.
