As someone who is deeply interested in both art and the medical field, prefer to think that people don’t have to be pigeonholed as one thing or another exclusively. She clearly has a lot to offer and I’m glad she does both.
Elizabeth is probably that one person in the gallery who literally stands in front of the painting for 15 mins analysing every cm while making the rest of us casual browsers wait for our turn while wondering what is she looking at or looking for.

@@elizabethfilips I've subscribed you and now I'm going to start my another good habit that how to watch one video at a time. Usually i don't say like this but I'm noticing that u r literally cute and beautiful... I just haven't need to increase my video speed or any other things you are not just peaceful person for listening but also having a good level messages and knowledge what I was searching nd somewhere needed 🤎🤍🤎🍻thanks!!
I had no clue what to expect as a conclusion for this video, but I still liked it a lot. The topic is even somehow connected to other productivity videos. It reminded me of how I am surrounded by so many people at work that live in this "things are like they are and I can't do anything to change them" illusion.

That's your response after hearing that meaningless drivel? lol
It would be so lovely to visit a gallery with you! The depth of emotion you saw in this painting isn’t the impression I would’ve had, this really captured me and I’m probably going to think about it longer than I should
Fabulous description. Makes me want to see the painting myself. And shows us such a different side of your personality. Loving this.

You should make this dream become true 😀
Once again, blown away by the depth of your thought process and the way you articulate it. "How am I being executed by the structures I'm in?" Is a question I will be asking myself too, after watching this!
More of this please! You’re so happy when you’re talking about art
I loved this so much! You are so articulate and insightful- definitely want to see this painting in person now. Would love to see an art gallery vlog where you talk through your favourite paintings 😊

In the beginning of the video, i hardly tried to interpret it and i tried to understand “how does she feel hopeful about this kind of an art?!”. All i saw was nothing and in the end of the video, i must say i am amazed by your interpretation of it 😍
I absolutely love your art analysis videos Elizabeth! I remember the first time watching your art video on ‘The Birth of Venus’ which definitely gave me another perspective that I wouldn’t have been able to point out. 🤍🤍
When I have time and I’m in the area, I head to the National Gallery and take in this very piece of art. It’s such a moving painting. Also, the size of it in the gallery is quite breathtaking. Fantastic video, and nice to know someone else is moved by this art in such a profound way.
One of my favorites. Have a large print of it waiting to be framed. I could easily get on a plane...head off to London....land, go see this painting and happily get back on board a plane to go home. It is a stunning piece of work.
I love this kind of video from you. Please do more of these. Explaining other art/paintings etc. 🤗
Incredible analysis and magnificent painting! I had never seen it before so thank you for the discovery 🤗
Woahhh, thats just lit. Love the way you think. Out of just a piece of art, there are so many feelings and emotions that brim out. Amazing
Incredible and beautiful analysis. Much of where my mind has wandered the past year or so.
You're really good at explaining things. I'm not crazy about art but ai got to connect with this painting from your explanation

LOVE this video!! More art reviews please!! 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Such an interesting video, I'd love to see more videos of you discussing paintings :)
Brilliant! Thank you.
I remember looking at this painting for ages , there is so much emotion in this, she was still elegant and feminine even till her death, they could never take away her values and standards.
I love the analysis!
You are the smartest girl that I have ever met on KZread. Love you
Absolutely loved this
Loved your analysis way ! ❤
Omg, this was AMAZING! Please do such art videos more, really interesting :)
Loved it!
Thanks for carefully reviewing the painting in depth. I also like to stop by it when in the National--the blood-red colour of the executioner's tights always makes me shiver.

Loved this so much thanks!
Always a nice video 😍 Thank you for that
This painting reminded me of a painting by JW Waterhouse of the Lady of Shalot. It has the same sad atmosphere, and lady grey and the lady of shalot were both confined in towers. The reeds in Waterhouses oainting replace the straw in delaroches depiction of lady jane.
I (American) recently visited London primarily to check out the museums, and this painting really stood out to me! Thanks for the video!
Great review! Please do more - I never thought to understand paintings so much. I want to learn more.
Okay so we've already established that you are brilliant and your analysis of this painting was just chefs kiss. You are so passionate about it that it's contagious. I think this should be a series on your channel. My favourite videos of yours are the ones you talk about art or you are painting and just talking. Your productivity videos are good but these are incredible.

OH MY THANK YOUUU
The first time i saw this painting was by accident during a visit to the National Gallery. It made a huge impact on me at the time and i have never forgotten it. I agree with all of the comments asking for more art history on your channel.
I had the priviledge of seeing this painting in person at the National Gallery in London, one of the most stunning paintings in the entire room.
I loved this vid! more of theseeee :D
pls do more of these i loved it
This is the first time I've heard of this painting and it is so breathtaking Pls do speak about more paintings I feel u would have some interesting takes
Pls do more of this!!! 😭😭😭
The exact moment of this painting is what I like. It is very intense and also calm at the same time. I relate very much with the executioner tho. Those people are like living corpses, they do this for a living I guess and their humanity kinda dies in the process. Btw what are your thoughts about iconography? I love them very much!!
This was great! You 'see' so much in the painting, it's fascinating.

Man , she sure died beautiful and young and innocent. I guess its the only simple reason why this painting still remembered and relevant... Thanks for the video ma'am ! oddly you also got her beautiful smile, jokes aside 😘
Liz make more videos on explaining various paintings like this ... The anger and emotion in your voice is felt in this video ...let it out
Wow! I've found productivity videos helpful for organisation, even as a woman in my fifth decade, but I have noticed that they are also empty of meaning/ purpose. This was one of the best videos I've seen on you tube and what a surprise. Your commentary brought to mind Rwanda and the atrocities there, alongside the research done on 'bystanders' and the impact they can have on the course of events. And Angus Macqueen's 'Gulag'.... another example of people sleepwalking through atrocity. And all this just from a painting. I remember you speaking about doing a podcast or similar recently and this is exactly the kind of thing that came to mind as needed. There are lots of strong and worth listening to male voices in this space, but I haven't heard so many women. Here you show such ability to do that. The painting also strikes me with the message that every generation has its sleep walk through wrong doing. We are blindfolded in the time we live in, only those coming after having the eye outside of time and place to see clearly and act on the lessons of history. Maybe the painter is the only one who sees and makes an attempt to change the world with his art.
For me, the painting that always stays with me is "El fusilamiento de Torrijos".
Your drawing is almost there! I hope you finish it in the podcast.
Beautiful
Please can you do more videos like these, love listening to them
beautiful
Would rather listen to you talk about art. Great analysis. Maybe more videos like this in the future!

A very interesting meditation on this art work.

You formulate your thoughts in such a fascinating and interconnected way and I feel like you must be so interesting to talk to.
you can see thousands of paintings in just a single one !
You’re so smartttt
More art exploration please!
I recognized this painting even from the thumbnail and am thrilled to hear you talking about it! The only time I ever visited England was on a family trip when I was 16, and although I was studying fine art, art history, and literature, I hadn’t come upon this piece until I saw it in the National Gallery. When I did, I just fell onto the gallery bench - conveniently set out in front of the painting - and sat there the entire time that my family toured the gallery (ie. hours). Although I did a quick run-through afterwards just to say I visited ‘the gallery’, the truth is I basically just visited Lady Jane. You conjure up many memories here, as well as exude a passion that gets snuffed out all too often in life. I commend your confidence, Elizabeth, and the decision to go after your dreams despite your apprehension. Many kind thoughts and much support coming your way from across the pond.
Ah! One of my all time favourites, I spent half of my 20s in front of that painting, my eyes glued to the masterful brush strokes that created the life like satin of her dress. The Wikipedia page for it explains who all the people are and its more gruesome when you know. The paintwork of that dress for me so far is the only rival to Van Rijn skills.
That's well explained.
Great video just wanted to clear up: The Man Behind Jane was Sir John Brydges, the lieutenant of the Tower. He is guiding her calmly to the block as a final act of kindness because she couldn’t find her way alone with the blindfold. And also I feel that none of these people could have done anything, Lady Jane was to be executed by the order of Queen Mary (Bloody Mary) and disobeying would be risking their lives and someone else would have been made to Carry out the execution. I personally feel that they felt the could not fight the situation.
It's very interesting. Please do more art videos 🙏

Why not creating a channel dedicated to art? Very interesting video! PS : well done for your french pronunciation :) A french viewer.
This was so beautiful! Can you make a video about how you went ahead with becoming a medical artist?
This was a really interesting take on one of my favorite paintings. The way you describe the despair of the women in the painting as the viewpoint we're meant to sympathize with makes me think of the Oath of the Horatii by Jacques-Louis David (who taught Antoine-Jean Gros, who taught Delaroche). In the Oath of the Horatii, David contrasts women acting emotionally in opposition to Roman men preparing to kill or be killed, but this time we're meant to sympathize with the men. Interesting how perspectives can change over just a few decades.
I like your all videos. Please make more videos. Love From India ❤❤❤
Impressive👍
Again nice video
We want more
Yeh, this is one of my "beeliners" in the National Gallery. Massively impressive painting. There was the men in the Privy Council hoping to manipulate her then turning on her when Queen Mary made her comeback. One important thing you left out, and I didn't know this at first either, was that Queen Mary offered her a full pardon if she converted to Catholicism. Jane refused and so the completely "lamb to the slaughter" thing in the end doesn't ring true entirely and Protestant's then an now see a certain resolve on Jane's part in this painting TO BE EXECUTED. The Protestant Martyr. There is a bit of militancy in her action which isn't immediately apparent. NOW, to the painting. It's a masterwork of composition and contrasts. Sharp edges: the block, the axe blade, the X composition all setting up the contrast with the soft, clothe bound rounded head. More contrast with the dark grey green background and the strong orange and blue white. All roads lead to the block. Now there's a message. I remember the first time I saw this in person, I unconsciously positioned myself directly ( about ten feet back ) in the center of the painting to view it. It really is like entering right into that room. I also remember not being able to take the pathos of the thing very long and was relieved to move on to whatever painting was next. I have no idea what that may have been but I do remember the relief. The National Gallery so so good; probably my favorite. Moroni is the only other artist I MUST see when I'm there along with the Renaissance unfinished works. After a whip round to the National Portrait Gallery and a pint or two I consider my day thoroughly well spent. One last Calvanistic thought. Why does the axe man look a lot like......Jesus?
A painting with lot of informative ,wow 🤩
The painting looks incredible🌻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a lovely day 😊
You are someone who make me see stuff that I would never have notice.
Great👍
Under the title, "We Will Leave in the Winter", your art is incredible. When I first saw your art on that drawing, there started something in my mind. "How can I help?" I asked and it said to write a poem about that picture. So, Miss, if you don't mind, I want to compost as a sonnet under the same title as your art and I want to use your drawing as an inspiration.
Did anyone else feel goosebumps at the painting of the old couple in the start of the video? A couple meant to live and die together. What happened to people like that. Where did they go in today's day where everyone is disposable?
You made me cry with the painting descriptions 😢😢 . Mood went off knowing it . Next time, please make some happier captured moments in your videos on someother happier topic . Thank you 🙏
