I've had my set of Core Fitness dumbbells since October, 2020. They're still going strong with no issues. I agree 100% that Core Fitness dumbbells are the best option if you don't need to go above 100 pounds total.

Decided I'm going to get these. I have the Ativafit dumbbells and they're like the bowflex 552's but made entirely of metal and they go up to 71.5 lbs. They get the job done, but man, I hate the cylindrical design and the spindles on the end makes it difficult to get into position when they rest on your thighs for pressing movements. So awkward. Those core fitness dumbbells look slick and awesome. Thanks for recommending these.

If you want heavier weights, also take a look at the Nuobells. I LOVE them, but they are pricey and don't fit the Hyperbell bar. Here is a review I made: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kY2uwbmjk7a6acY.htmlsi=icNAm2NXkZ98XQsF

Same, I do wish Core had an upgradeable option. The Nuobells are also awesome and my preferred, just pricey so that is why I recommend the average person go for Core if they just want to build some muscle and stay in shape, without paying twice the price.

@gamerbody - do you recommend the Hyperbell Ez Curl Bar or Barbell for the dumbbells? On your website, you only have a link to the Ez curl. However on a prior video you recommended the barbell.

  • @GamerBody

For my needs, the EZ Curl Bar. BUT, I am potentially getting the barbell again so I can do back squats as the weights on them are something I can control and take off if needed. It might require more reps to get to failure, but that would mean the EZ curl bar would just be a bonus in the end (since you can use the barbell version for curls and skull crushers as well).

love the videos but I'm just left with the notion of should I just bite the bullet and get Nuobells over the Cores if I want a full dumbbell option so I can seek to grow into higher weight presses, squats, and deadlifts? Thanks for all the time you put into the info you share!

If you have the funds, and don't want to use something like the Hyperbell, I agree that Nuobells are the best option overall. I do miss them from time to time as the ones I had were great.

Average Joe's youtube teardown of the Nuobell and Snode AD80s made Snode look like a better investment than the Nuobells. More resilient internal hardware and easier to repair. I have no idea whether it will work with the hyperbell, but Snode gives handle dimensions of "Length 4.53in, diameter 1.42in" in case you need to calculate compatibility. If saving money, Powerblock Elite EXP goes down to $300 sometimes, which is cheaper than any of these, and can be upgraded later... provided you're okay with the handle+cage design.

Nice, I had PowerBlocks in the past, and the reason I didn't go with them after moving across the country was the handle design. I still loved my Nuobells but since my move, haven't repurchased them. I do have the "newer" version of the Core Fitness Dumbbells though as I still really like them, and they work with the Hyperbell.

Thats pretty much the equipment I have in my home gym and looking to optimize by combining the best of all, plus is fun to mix things. Cheers from Mexico

What makes these stand out from other similar style adjustable dumbbells , they are more compact in length, and even smaller in lighter weights, they only get bigger when you add more weight. Majority of other popular brands are very bulky even at minimum weight.

Up to about 30 reps gives results if taken close to failure says recent studies... Going slow like this guy and higher reps means a lot can be gotten with 50 pounds and for a few lifts you could have a pair of plate loaded ones to go heavy...or a barbell...

@@calingog2645 Mainly because I really like using the Hyperbell, and I am moving to more bodyweight options (with a backpack) if I use dumbbells. @@GamerBody Cost more than their 50's but probably less than their competitor's 80's, okay, point taken. Used 90 pound Powerblocks seem to go for $500 sometimes around my area so for new it seems like they'd sell a mess of them unless the heavier market is smaller than we think...I like Powerblocks personally but they put many off due to form factor.
