This is a clip I recorded from the Video Game Collecting: The Good, The Bad, the Ugly Panel at PAX East 2023. Jirard (The Completionist) explains why he bought everything from the Wii U and 3DS eShops before they closed on March 27th. The panel happened on Sunday March 26th.
This is the full uncut speech Jirard gave during the panel, going more into detail about his goal of video game preservation than the KZread Short would allow.

Well I'm not a nintendo ambassador and the games are impossible to get so yes jirard we have to mod our systems. 😢

He literally has a library of all available games for two entire consoles and is a major figure in gaming communities. In 30 years when there are no ROMsites he will have lost games available for access and reference. You've done nothing for KZread comment sections

@SATSU So in 30 years this might be relevant and not even to the full extent. Comment section is for communication, if you can't handle a differing opinion then stay off of the internet or grow up. The irony is staggering.

@@ff1500 The point is that we can use his downloads to preserve the games. It's not about 30 years from now. It's about NOW. It is relevant NOW.

Indeed, mad props to him for the insane dedication he had for doing this, it's good that these games are preserved on a piece of actual hardware, in case if something happens to the ROMS available online.
