I had two problems with this show: 1- Ruby isn't able to show emotion. 2- The encounters with Alice would always end up the same. She does something evil, fights with Batwoman and escapes...by the 3rd time it got really boring.

Batwoman was supposed to be protecting Gotham but she kept letting Alice get away. She kept trying to find good in Alice and Alice kept killing people after Kate would let her go, including their step mother. Batwoman was a terribly ineffective hero. That was when I gave up on the show. Her interaction with Kara and Barry in the crossover was stupid. She spent 5 minutes with her and acted like they were best friends with her. She got a huge role in the crossover despite having no powers and little experience. She was almost useless fighting anti Monitor I can’t believe they are going to bring in a new character with no connection to Batman and call her Batwoman. That is stupid.

Curtis was worse. Yes Curtis we know you're gay. It's your only personality and character trait. If he'd been an interesting character who happened to be gay but had more to him than that and if some of his storylines had been about it but not all of them that would have been fine. But all he did was constantly remind people he was gay and joke about his balls.

The reasoning behind revealing her to the teen was pretty good I thought. The teen´s saying, Batwoman cannot now, how it is to be a lesbian with homophobic parents. If Kate didn´t reveal herself that girl would still think that everybody is against her and there would be no character change for the girl. It´s not always the right decision to put somebody in jail, especially when we are talking about teens. When you can see a possibility to change in character and habit without jail or prison, it´s good that we just appeal for kindness, maybe also they have to do counselling hours or something like that to monitor bad behaviour before it´s getting that bad. Also, she didn't want to kill the people on the train, she wanted to stop the train before any possible crash.

From what I'm hearing it sounds like the show wants us to believe just about ANYONE can be Batman so long as they have the suit. Yeah, a bat suit doesn't allow you to go toe to toe with the man of steal. That's experience, and brains that very few people in existence have.

I actually really liked him (of course not as much as Ford but you can't beat Ford's Han Solo he's a legend) and he actually does show us how good of a pilot he is when he gets chased by the imps in that Kessel scene. And I don't really remember being told Han was a lady's man... Maybe I forgot but idk about that one

Thanks for the review, Michael Joe. Watching the show, I have to add several other reasons I don't think it's as good as the other Arrowverse shows. It's not a bad show, but could be much better. Reasons: 1. As you mentioned, Kate is somewhat cold and confrontational with everyone and doesn't make you root for her as much as the show intended. 2. There isn't enough world-building. They literally have the whole Gotham, with maybe 10 recurring characters and hardly any villains worth mentioning. 3. The side villains. Nocturna, Duela Dent, Magpie and several others are wasted as one-note episodic threats with maybe two scenes of dialogue. These characters are so much more in the comics. 4. No connection between the supporting cast. What's the relationship between Mary and Sophie? Even better, did Mary have any more complex scene with Jacob? Did Katherine? Without Kate Kane in the middle, they don't hold any cohesion. 5. Unfocused central conflict. There is a great story in there with Kate and Alice, but it goes back and forth for too long and every time they randomly chat in the alley, you lose the sense of emergency or that Kate has any desire to actually capture Alice. The other conflicts feel undeveloped, like Jacob operating a private company raiding Gotham like it's GCPD. And literally nobody has issues with that. 6. Treating Luke like a joke because he's a tech guy. Kate crashes the cave like she owns the place and bosses him around. That's not how you make allies. The writers treat it like a quirk. 7. Color scale. This may seem irrelevant, but de-saturated tone makes it boring to watch at times. 8. Get rid of Rachel Meadow's voice-over. It's annoying. Now, there are upsides and well-done story-lines. Alice is a particularly interesting villain, even though she sometimes feels out of place with her outlandish style when the world surrounding her is so plain. Tommy Elliot ''becoming'' Bruce feels promising, but without Kate around, this likely may also be a missed opportunity.

The thing is how many times was it that people didn't like a character and then shocker they get character development no way but seriously she could have become great if they have her more time Kate Kane isn't a character that builds character development over night it takes with here a long time and something serious happening I think she would have become a great character such a shame

I liked the sister vs sister thing. Wish it would’ve all been wrapped up in the first season because that plot really interested me

So this new main character is the entire grab bag of character traits, even to the point of contradiction wildly disceplined but also an ex-drug-runner who will kill you with her bare hands.

Well this show ain’t making it through 2 seasons no chance they should of sacked it off once the actor left the role and hope she will stay for cross overs like they how they cancelled Constantine but kept him on as a character. Honestly changing the whole character is the oddest idea I’ve heard of and don’t think there’s a way they could make it go smoothly. Thought the show was alright early on and went down hill but this just killed off the hole show

Quick theory about Batman: Batman accidentally kills the Joker and ends up feeling the regret of breaking his code and everyone he couldn’t save (like kates mom) so he left.

It´s in the series, Luke reveals to Kate that Joker was killed by Batman like that (I watched the show in German so maybe wrong translation): "Why do you think the Joker didn´t appear in the last seven years after Batman's disappearance?"

When I heard batwoman I was so hyped but when I saw the trailer I was like 🤭

Also that new character just. . . Seems so obsessed with stealing milk. . Is she going to become Catwoman? Please no Like, honestly all they had to say to change the actor was something like "Oh crap, Oliver's fusion of earths ended up switching our Kate!"

The only thing I can say on behalf of the show regarding Batman's disappearance is that the show is told from the characters' perspectives. For them to say that "Batman abandoned Gotham" can therefore be interpreted as exactly that, an in-show *mistaken* perception of the Batman's decision, whether forced or not, to leave Gotham

They wanted her to look the part as a Lesbian. I saw a couple episodes and the emphasis on her being lesbian is heavy. Plus Ruby Rose was already short haired but I don’t think she would have objected to letting her hair grow or just wearing a red wig

What’s really bad is that BATMAN NEVER RETURN TO GOTHAM……. And it still sucks jeez I wish Batwoman gets canceled and starts a CW Batman Series where Bruce Wayne finally returns to Gotham and decided to bring back Joker like in the comics

I agree with you on everything except Solo bro. I watched Solo and I felt like the actor captured what Han Solo would be like as a young man. He didn’t do a Harrison Ford impression, he did his own thing and it was great. Anyway, everything else, I agree 100%

Solo was good, it was a fun adventure movie in star wars, it just never felt like han from the movies, seemed like a different kid, but thank you! :)

Batwoman sucks ass in the comics. In my eyes, this show was a pretty faithful adaptation in that regard. Stargirl is lookin pretty good so far, I'm lovin' it 👌👌👌

LOL Totally agree, Batwoman was never a good character to begin with considering she is basically a Female Batman whose a Lesbian with Guns. I've seen Batman Bad Blood & she wasn't compelling at all, her Backstory was so poorly written.

2 things that need to happen. 1. Stop with the agenda. Batwoman in itself is a character that supports the LGBT community, there's no reason to shove it down our throats when the character itself is written so well and supports that in the comics, subtly goes a long way. 2. Fan service the shit out of it. This is a series that the creators should be having fun with. Special cameos of characters to be introduced for a later show, special events in comics, stories, ect. There's no reason why we should be getting the bottom of the barrel character-wise in this show. I love the character, but the show is horrible.
