Yes, the outside door handles are disaster, I' ve broken front right handle first day after buying this car :D Luckily with Pattex 5 minutes epoxid glue, the problem was solved. But besides that, the car is great: quite, lots of space and quite good power (2.5). Greetings from Poland ;)

I refuse to get rid of mine. Got an 03 Altima. Had issues with a bad catalytic converter and the original engine seized. Got a JDM engine sent from overseas and went from a 2.5 to a 2.0 engine. Drove it for a while then i didn't...joined the military got a subie and haven't driven it in about 3 years. One of the other cars got totaled and i dont want a car note so im giving up the subie to the Mrs. and going back to the Altima. I have to paint it and upgrade the radio to touchscreen. Just fixed the AC, replaced the crankshaft & camshaft sensors, o2 sensors, and i think it needs another catalytic converter. Considering bypassing the cat and going straight pipe. Thoughts?

Worst thing is center console ac vent breaks and I changed exhaust manifold with header cause I’ve heated lots of bad thinks about engine failures cause of suction of catalytic converter pieces into the engine so I bought a header also another problem head gasket just last year and it happened on winter and I’ve done it within a week when Iam free took the head facing and put just new aftermarket head gasket cause it’s slightly thicker than original one and I actually bought the original but advice from my friend he is a mechanic just to change with aftermarket and I kept oem in my store in case it failed recently but it’s still about a year and everything is fine, and I’ll sell cause everything is fine Ac compressor changed three times once when I bought it 2009 from agent ,2021 twice from junkyard Some coils burned cause of my brother pressure-washed the engine these are majorthings other than that everything is ok only tie rods , brake pad serpentine belt thermostat, radiator changed 3 times since 2019 till now cause of leak , control arms on 2015 as preventative maintenance , front schlock absorber changed once on its life on 2015 also but rear changed many times every 3 years Iam changing And still driving like a champ it’s not too much for that long service and still working 👍👍👍

QR25DE has a kamikaze pre-catalytic convertor on it. I'd be wary of that. My 06 Altima had engine failure at 50,000 miles because the pre-cat fell apart and got sucked into the engine tearing the cylinders up and burning out all the oil. Nissan replaced my engine but I got rid of the new pre-cat and put a header on instead. Car has actually been very reliable since then so I can't really complain but the design flaw with the pre-cat is extremely serious so I'm not a fan of the QR25 and wouldn't buy another one no matter how reliable it is now. It's shame about the flaw though because really the rest of the car is quite nice. No complaints about the comfort or feel of it. The worst I can say about Altimas outside of the cat issue is just that Nissan uses horrible paint/clear coat. In no time Altimas start to look half rotten as the clear coat disappears.

I checked and found the compressor was not kicking in as I was starting AC. I checked freon and the pressure was too low. I refilled using a 50$ freon bottle from autozonr and compressor started working as it should. If you're out of gas, the Compressor wont start. So, I also have a leak in the AC line. These cars are the worst.. Mines burns oil for no reason. I did a whole engine rebuilt and still burning oil. I have a p1273 code that doesn't want to go away even after doing relearns and etc. And after fixing everything.... And the are bad on cats... I hate these damn cars...

I bought mine new and have only replaced the cam sensor. It's a great car, but you have to do the scheduled maintenance. That's maybe your problem.

Avoid these vehicles when they accrue over 125K miles. They are notorious for having problems (limp mode issues) with the CVT transmissions.

This video is total bullshit. To anyone considering buying one of these turds, be aware of a few things. First, the 2.5L engine has a fatal flaw. It leaks/burns oil badly as the mileage gets higher. Eventually you will be adding a quart every gas fill-up and if you forget, your engine is shot. Second, the JATCO auto transmission isn't much better. It starts slipping around 100k and typically needs replacing around 150k-175k.

My 05 Altima has 196K and hardly burns any oil. After 5k miles or so might burn a half quart. Never had any major issues.

Mine doesn't burn oil and if you service the trans like you're supposed to, it keeps working fine.
