i guess the title should be "why MY tf2 videos take so long to make" #tf2 #teamfortress2
actually no it would be better if it were "why i should stop being lazy"
thanks for watching. i feel i should reiterate this but i absolutely don't consider myself an expert in any form in any of these programs. this is merely a breakdown, not a tutorial video. you can follow my advice or whatever, but in some cases it may not be that good and what i say should not be treated as like, the best possible way to do something. that said i obviously appreciate your nice comments thank u guys lol

I really respect your commitment to using whatever program is necessary to get your brain images into an mp4 file. I also appreciate the bit about following tutorials - honestly, the majority of my self-teaching process was having an idea in my head, realizing I didn't know how to make it happen, and then finding a relevant tutorial. How can you learn/improve if not by doing things you don't know how to do? No shame in that imo. Also thanks for making Blender look useable, it makes me feel like I have no more excuses to avoid learning it lol

thank you lazy :) i think youre absolutely right about the tutorials thing, my personal issue (that i could've definitely expressed better in the script) was that at one point i felt like my editing "style" was not a style at all and i was just copying everything from tutorials and i came up with nothing original. tutorials are undoubtedly great, and i owe the majority of what i know to them. especially that blender stuff as it was and still is so much information for such a relatively short amount of time. hopefully you will find blender fun, as thats the main reason im so stoked about it

@@Fishtank.That's such an interesting point. I think your style is incredibly apparent. Your videos are super unique because you put so much effort and time into creating specifically what you have in mind. (Lazy does so aswell). Which is ofcourse a video filled with jokes and associations that are particular to you. But a part of what allowed you to translate those ideas into video is the tendency to find fitting tutorials. Maybe a foregone conclusion but to me it's a strength rather than criticism.

As a fledling editor, the amount of learning you have to do to be able to work at all with any program is insane, the fact that you balance image, video, effects, modelling, sfm, 2x map creators and more is beyond impressive, without even mentioning the actual effort and creativity you display with these tools. Love your stuff man keep it up.
Big respect for each video you upload, we know the amount of effort you put behind them and thats why its so entertaining, your sense of humor and editing style is why we love you.

thank you for being my biggest inspiration, fishtank. all of the other video editors that I used to watch have either only been posting low-effort content or have stopped posting entirely. You’re the largest reason that I have to keep editing and it’s really encouraging for me to see the processes (and failures,) behind these edits so that I know that I’m not alone.
You may consider yourself an amateur, but you're unironically a role model in my eyes. I'm another amateur with much less skill, and I'm hoping to reach your level someday. Thanks for the videos and all the inspiration.
not many editors would share their methods/sfx/music/transitions and techniques they use to create their content so tysm for sharing, very insightful!
This was really realy cool to see as someone whos looking to improve their edits with more complicated ones. Very insightful, kinda makes me realise that I can be doing a lot more.
I myself have no idea when it comes to editing, it's just extraordinary to see how committed you are just to make one joke in your videos. Can't wait to see what comes next!
Your videos just have a vibe that I love, looking forward to seeing you get more used to making your own edits to see how far you can take it :)
Amazing stuff, awesome to see the tools and tutorials used 👍
Not gonna lie, these kind of videos make me appreciate creators with massive editing in their videos so much more. Thank you for putting out so much content for all of us and I hope you have a great year
It's so much fun to see your videos man, the edits and transitions are always crazy creative. Thanks for letting us get a glimpse behind the scenes! It's really inspiring :)
The insanely high quality videos you make are always an absolute joy to watch! And the time it takes for you to make the videos means I get really excited each time your name pops up in my subscriptions feed :D
I love your videos and they clearly come from a place a of great creative integrity, but I do have to say, in terms of sponsors, the audience cares WAY less than you think. Trust me. Do them. Viewers either don't care, or are happy that you are able to make more/better content for them. Don't let pride get in the way of creation

your TF2 edits were a blessing to find and watch this year, thank you
Love your videos, always a joy to see em appear in my feed.
Love the effort, skill, and passion you put into your craft. Trying to perfect edits is so time consuming which makes me burnout, but it's worth it in the end to have such a clean and tasteful video that can be rewatched forever.
Gotta love the time and effort you put into your videos. Definitely one of my favorite KZreadrs. Congrats for the 100k c:

i adore your content !! i dont know anything about editing but the amount of effort and commitment u put into ur videos is insane ! keep up the great work man :)
Had fun watching every video. In general, love your work! 🙂
thank you so much this was really detailed! >:D!! I love your video editing to bits and it always made me want to go try again every time I see you upload. I make videos myself for the joy of putting in the work and seeing the satisfying end result but lately I’ve been stumped by the sense of mediocrity I feel in the process of making things and them not coming at as I originally imagined. Seeing this tutorial of the process of the things you make especially the ones that only show on screen for like 3 to 8 seconds helps me appreciate the creative process and hopefully I’ll dive in again. Your work is amazing mr aquarium

Man, I can't imagine doing this like multiple times in a year. Your videos are great and the time you take for the quality of content is amazing. Quality over Quantity man.
I love your videos and personality, waiting is not costly.
i love the bit about using tutorials to learn not copy, i always try to do that, if im making something in blender or whatever i'll always trial and error it, if it dosent work i'll get a tutorial up to give me a nudge in the right direction but then take over from there, yes it's scuffed, yes it's a headache, but it's worth it in the end
Very cool and insightful video. I wish I had the patience for edits like this.

YES! Thanks for the useful description and video, Cheers!
I've been a Blender modelist, artist, animator for a few years now, but I've been looking to work on my editing portfolio. Thank you for the resources, information!
Wish I had as many skills in video/image editing as you do, seriously man, you're an example to all of us who wish to one day get a proper grasp on making TF2- or really any sort of content - happy new year, amazing video.

thanks for letting us peep behind the scenes, very cool
I don't think your a sellout, yoou put 110% effort into your ad segments than every other person I watch. And maybe it's because I don't edit and know nothing about it, but I don't think there's been a dip in quality at all. In other words, I'm always interested in what you're doing
I love your editing style

Honestly probably the best editing in the tf2 community +rep
wow you’re so good at editing thats so cool haha
13:16 the fast PvZ theme played on keyboard made me laugh, but the transcribing of the song notes to the animation was super impressive detailing
Yo that 2fort in zombies thing was pretty dope, been learning the mod tools myself for the last 8 ish months and I'd love to make a TF2 map into there at some point, so seeing that it's somewhat doable is pretty nice to see.
i gotta say you're an inspiration, im kind of the same in the "i want to do smth i'll just watch a tutorial for 2 hours going back" field and you really got me into trying to learn how to edit/do everything it's crazy the amount of efforts you're putting in a video and it really shows, i can watch a video an infinite number of times and not get bored (i think i know every joke that comes in all of the videos but i still laugh that's saying something) i also really love the references, jazzpunk, franz ferdinand, borderlands, you have such great taste and most importantly, a huge good sense of humour. you also made me discover freakbait on spotify and for that i am so thankful, legit boppers this comment doesn't really have sense because ngl im high but i wanted to post just to say i admire you for all you do, you're the only youtuber i put when i go to youtube when i dont go down a rabbbithole your friends also sound like really cool people, fucking love bp and the guy who got the voice of mint (the guy in the videos of octo i forgot his name) thank you so much for the videos, for providing such awesome content and for posting a perfect q&a showing your wizardry editing skills (and linking the tutorials too what a legend)
19:31 you can really see his dwindling sanity when the text “**** this!!” flashes on screen for a second

You're so talented. Do you have a background in music at all? That lick was clean.
Seeing how hard you edited makes me really want to translate your video into different languages, so that more people can know about this epic teaching material. (Although I can't do it, youtube won't allow me to do it, because they completely banned translating other people's videos in 2020)
I wasn't a huge fan of the contents Style Denise all this video and all the cool effects on mist and now I wholeheartedly believe you are the best tf2 KZreadr
Gods damn, this is a shit ton of effort. Massive respect!
Your video inspires me a lot
I'd like to see some weapon breakdowns by you
I really love your sense of humour and the variety of edits you make for your jokes. So i have a question for you "Chumcontainer". First of all how do you come up with all these complicated edit ideas that require you to use multiple diffrent programs and maybe learn a new way to use them. And secondly the thing i myself stuggle a lot with is how in the world do you keep being motivated to do all those edits you come with. Its a skill i most want to learn. To be able to fully commit yourself to an overcomplicated joke / high quality shitpost and keep committing until the project is done. And please dont just say crack or supercrack i have ADHD i take supercrack daily to function.
12:24 WAIT IS IT THE CATAWAKE IM THINKING ABOUT?? HOLY SHIT your music taste is nuts
