Why Takeoff And Landing Are So Dangerous

Ғылым және технология

According to Boeing, 49% of all fatal plane accidents happen during the final descent and landing phases of the average flight, while 14% happen during takeoff and the initial climb. One of the reasons for this is altitude - the closer the plane is to the ground, the less time a pilot has to react to problems. Here's why making a plane stop is actually riskier than making it fly.

We need to agree on one thing here. There's is no part of flight that is slightly "Dangerous". You might explain something in the video about it. But with a title like that, nervous fliers might not even press play on the video, they just take the title. You're right that most fatal accidents in planes happen during the takeoff face, and the landing. But there is no part of flight that is dangerous!

Cause there's little air for the plane to glide on when landing, so it depends mostly on the speed, the tires, the stability, and the angle position when landing. This is why you can get arrested for getting out of your seat during take off and landing because it can cause a crash, best is let the staff know, or empty yourself in the airport, or hold it until the plane is stable in a high altitude. Search the accident of a taking off plane caused by a cargo of tissues that was not tied into one place.

Engine failure on takeoff... Especially in a light twin. Maintaining Vyse blue line speed and not getting below Vmca red line speed is critical.

Well, Actually if the problem occurs during take-off, the Pilot will usually make the decision to Cancel take-off or Continue depending on the aircraft speed at that time, In aviation it is called "V1". If the aircraft has an accident before reaching V1, the pilot will cancel take-off. If the speed has reached V1 (It will be announced by Audio in the cockpit) The pilot will take off the plane and attempt to land ASAP

Mid-air accident is the worse. Falling from the sky is scary. Any crashes are scary from takeoff, cruising, or landing. Not all accidents are survivable. I rather put it around 80% that most accidents are survivable and 20% of some accidents are not survivable by human or mechanical errors.
