They still do some shows, and im subscribe to both KZread channels, a podcast called comedy trap house. They talk about current events, stock new material they're working on, and sometimes mental health. Eman still getting money doing his thang. He be on the 85south show a lot. He also said he was approached by some people to do weird to be bigger when he was starting out, but he was scared, so he didn't do it. He continued to make a lane for himself. Spoken Reason past ended him enough said SJ was just caught when the Internet and the world were changing. They stuck it to him.

    Chris Rock is correct this is guy is a professional he can tell the do's and don't of being a stand up i don't think he was putting shawn down. he was telling him you not ready to be in front of an audience because you do sketch comedy but you never done Stand up performance. it's a whole different ballgame it's a form of art taking any situation or just anything and make funny. also be able to at least 20 mins on stage to give a great performance and be quick with it. deshawn couldnt take the constructive criticism from rock and let his ego get in the way of it. you had an opportunity and he blew it.

    Current IG/KZread comedians can learn from this situation. If you get a shot, don't mess it up. Humble yourself, be able to take criticism and don't make decisions based off emotion. When he deleted his first channel that was a huge mistake. The L's in the video are overwhelming. I got secondhand embarrassment from all the cringe moves he made.

    I have a friend that does stand up and he is hella fun. He has been doing it for 15 years. I asked him why don’t you do a comedy special. He said bruh trying to make people laugh for an entire hour is no easy. I think Shawn thought he could do take his 3min comedy dnd stretch it for an hour.

    It's crazy what happened to both Deshawn Raw and Spoken Reasons. These dudes were at the very top of the KZread game in 2011. But in the end, a combination of Ego (SpokenReasons) and Pride (Deshawn Raw) led to their downfall.

    He said "hollywood is kinda gay" and deleted his videos. He was funny in videos and thought that would translate into stand up, then when he started getting into the hollywood scene he saw how sketchy and strange it was and wasn't down with it. With all of that combined he backed away from everything.

    Very similar story to Brandon T Jackson, got a co-sign from 2 legends in comedy Eddie Murphy and didn’t want it. Deshaun raw had A Chris Rock co-sign and the KZread comedy on lock before vines and what we know now but for lack of better terms he fumbled the bag and when you hear his explanation it sounds weird to say the least.

    I had no idea any of this happened! I'm from cali and went to college in the I.E. around the time he was poppin so I was very familiar however I didn't really keep up and by the time instagram/snapchat took over daily social media life I forgot about him. Glad to see he's working and making a come back

    I found that the best early 2008-2012ish KZread "stars" (for lack of a better word) were the most memorable when they made a few good videos and disappeared. Best example I know is Chad warden. Made a couple of videos and never resurfaced. Didn't try to monetize on it or run his image dry. Went on to live a normal life. Fame can make someone crazy. Others know to walk from it.
