thanks for the absolutely overwhelming support guys i appreciate it to hell and back! i didn't think that such a goofy stupid peepee poopoo dumb rant about some label would be so respected! there'll be more videos coming soon! (i've posted a community poll you should check that out because stanley is lazy and they think that this is the best idea to involve people into voting for something. oh how foolish they are)

about this evolution thing, you should check out what NCS is doing now. They basically ditched their prog house style and generic fb they used to be known for, and are doing some interesting stuff now imo. They‘re even releasing a new sublabel, so NCS seems to have been going through that evolution that Subsidia hasn‘t been able to. August won‘t really show this because they brought back classic NCS tunes for their birthday, but in general NCS has been going in an interesting direction this past year. I recommend checking out their stuff especially thru April to July 2022. Also I must say that NCS is a really community-driven label nowadays. The team keeps a lot of contact with the community and takes suggestions and ideas a lot from the fans which is cool Edit: Yeah came back to this in 2023 to say that NCS fell off HARD

I love the shitpost type of editing, and I’m trying to use it in my videos. The shitpost editing in this video just makes it better, and I’m excited to see your future videos in the style you’re doing right now.

My take on how the dubstep scene could evolve: evolving... just backwards... as pewds would say. Let me explain here. Imagine old dubstep getting a facelift with the new technology we have; there are already examples of this right now: badklaat is breaking away from his older heavy briddim style to make classic dubstep on wheel and deal records; and it sounds pretty dang good imo. I get we all want dubstep to evolve constantly, but at that point it just turns into a fad. TL;DR It'd be cool to dig up the old archives and see how innovative past artists were back then with less tech, and use the tech we have today to up the quality while still maintaining older quality. Idk really this might just be a completely shit take.

look at the launches of monstercat and halcyon. monstercat 001 had 7 songs in it while halcyon sound vol 1 had 8. while monstercat 001 has aged pretty poorly, sound vol 1 was pretty good, and halcyon as a whole is consistently good imo

by the way just for some feedback on your new video essay ideas, I personally think it would be better if some of your bits here and there had more screen time so that people could actually see what you are saying (e.g, when you memed soulfulhouse and radioshow, still don't know what those are), and when you were listing night tunes that you liked, I had to slow down the video to .25x to be able to pause it at the point where I could read the list. just a thought

0:11 Soulful house is an OG form of house that infuses soul music (usually in the form of soul and RnB samples but even original soul music instrumentation) Its actually where deep house kinda sorta came from...... think of deep house as a dummed down version of soulful house Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

I rarely visit subsidia as a label, I've seen every dawn dusk and night comp but only ever returned to dusk 3, and the only subsidia releases I had any remote interest in were Caster's Sinner Sanctum (Morning Star's fall is fucking BAE) and UBUR's Odium (fucking heat). the rest is just boring, I hear nothing remotely new from night, like ever, it's all just BRRM BRRM BRRM BRRM with an annoying EEEEEEEEEEEE or AAAAAAAAAAAA in the background that makes me want to swallow my lampshade. Subsidia needs to do a yes move or just rework it's entire concept

Try "The Darkness". Its kinda generic, but the first 8 bars of that drop, idfk how but they made briddim plus chiptune I think. And I genuinely got neck cramps from how hard I went to it

i'm sure it's gonna be about the 'quantity over quality' ideology that's been there since the start. I mean just look at Night Vol. 1. 62 tracks and the majority suck. Willing to see your take on it though.
