In all seriousness, I don’t see what she’s saying here as a true threat. We took out these loan when we were CHILDREN. We didn’t know what we were doing, we just knew that if we wanted to get a higher education for a “higher paying job” we’d need a degree. I feel as though going into loans and contacts now as adults we are aware of what we’re signing up for and have actually done some analysis before signing on the dotted line. If anything, student loans are in their own lane because we feel as though we got bamboozled. For many, it didn’t provide them the high paying job they were bated with. Yet, we’re on the hook for full payments and interest. And on top of alllll that, where was all this backlash to PPP loans which were just rushed through. So much so it’s littered with fraud. Like, come on. You hate poor people and are scared to lose power, just be real. Too much upward mobility is bad for the current ruling class. They like thing JUST THE WAY THEY ARE. And you should too, peasant.

Yes!! Thank you…this reminds me of the talk surrounding extending unemployment benefits during the middle of the pandemic. There were comments, primarily from the wealthy, that felt continuing to provide people with unemployment compensation would encourage them not to work. Absolutely ridiculous. It always amazes me that the wealthy find a way to insert themselves into anything that involves giving financial support to those most in need. Meanwhile, you have countless big corporations receiving tax cuts and bailouts.

It isn't anything new to show compassion by lifting some of the burdens off the shoulders of people that are struggling.
