I tried speedreading for a month and while my speed almost tripled i found that the faster I read the less enjoyment I get. Id say It’s good for work, documents, Articles etc, but when you’re reading for pleasure just take your time and immerse yourself. Let your subconcious choose the speed you want at any given moment in the story. I found that while reading fantasy for example I can take up to 5 minutes on a single page of descriptions, but I can read same ammount in a minute or less when It’s a gripping action sequence. But yeah It’s a cool skill to have, just don’t force yourself to use it when you font want to :)

The most important thing about reading in my opinion is the ability to focus for long periods of time, many people in this day and age lack their ability to focus on one thing at a time and do multi tasking instead, which is just terrible, because you cannot possibly do 3 things at 100% of your ability, instead if you were and could focus for only 1 task and give it your 100% the outcome would be times better

I have a friend, who reads insanely fast. He obviously possesses these techniques of speed reading even without ever learning them. I remember we measured he could read two pages in 25 seconds. He also told me that he does not hear a voice in his head while reading. But what I noticed repeatedly, that even understanding everything very well at such a speed, he always forgets things he read quite fast, and tends to confuse details more than me (and I am VERY inattentive). So everything has its price

I really liked the video!!! Actually it's more important how we comprehend while reading fastly! For Example: If we read something which has no title or called 'Schema' but just two three sentences which describes something like:- "This is an easy thing to do, if possible you could do it at home but you would always go someplace else if it's necessary beware of doing it this is a major mistake it may costs you quite a bit of money" Actually this doesn't make any sense but if we say the title of this we can understand easily that is LAUNDRY - WHICH DESCRIBES THE PARA ABOVE!

I've been reading books that are way beyond my years for almost my whole life. I read Bram Stoker's Dracula at like age 11 or 12. My point is, I've been able to speed read for a really long time, and it actually is overpowered. It makes reading a lot of fun, and I read books all the time. I highly suggest anyone who doesn't already starts reading often!

Yeah people who read for pleasure and not to be on a sigma male grindset tend to want to enjoy books and enjoy the imagery and visualize them, and feel the words. Hes literally doing this so he can read self help books. He has it in his mind reading is a successful thing to do. This video is super dumb. Not to mention his comprehension went down on simple example texts meaning hes halfway skimming. Also the "grouping the words" technique will not work for most great authors since they turn their phrases around, and youll probably end up misreading what they say if you rely on it.

i somewhat agree, like even my baseline speed is faster because of speedreading which i do find useful sort of like getting so used to videos on 3x that you can use 1.5x without missing info or pacing but i don't try to speedread everything, that would be like running everywhere sometimes i might read aloud or maybe try to jumpstart again a voice in my head when reading poetry or dialogue so that i am better immersed in what is happening
