@@mtezman3465 it's funny because if she had pronounced 'mosi' phonetically she would have been correct as she should be used to seeing as hindi (assuming she's a hindi speaker) such as Afrikan written words are both mostly phonetically pronounced. The problem is that she tried to pronounce 'mosi' via US English. For example, Iraq is pronounced as 'ayraak' and Iran is 'ayraan' in US english. They tend to pronounce the names of the voul letters rather than the sound the letters represent. That is how 'mosi' becomes "mosayi" 🤦🏿‍♂️

The white minority government in South Africa was supported by Western countries, especially the UK and the US up to the core financially and military. Western countries lost momentum because the organizations that fought for freedom were very powerful, including the ANC and others. The organizations that fought for freedom received high-level training and weapons from countries like Russia,Cuba, China and some African countries like Zambia. I'm a South African, and I'll say outright that this behavior is a damn disgrace. The ANC government (which runs the country, poorly I might add, and that's an understatement) has lost the plot. The US and Europe are our biggest trading partners and we have little to no trade relations with Russia at all. So there is no way this is in the interests of our economy.... at all. This is a selfish, deluded act of the ANC government which has some misshapen romantic notions of Communism (which is their ideological rooting), and somehow thinks that developing or nurturing a stronger relationship with Russia (the old Communist heavyweight) during this geopolitical crisis is in our best interests? Really? Russia has literally nothing to offer us in terms of trade. This is just one corrupt government trying to rub shoulders with another corrupt government whilst aggravating and alienating our biggest trading partners. This is the policy equivalent of Brexit. Speaking on behalf of the rest of the sane populous in our country and saying that whatever your position on NATO, Russia, Ukraine, or anything else, this is just a non-sensical and economically self-sabotaging endeavor. In the words of Andre De Ruyter "the ghosts of Marx and Lenin still haunt the halls of Luthuli House (the ANC headquarters) and they embarrassingly still call each other "comrades" in meetings". The ANC would sooner see liberal democracy done away with and adopt the same oligarchical authoritarian government that Russia is subjected to.

Who is "we"? China and Russia is ruthless. There is a reason why Russia doesn't show the other countries within itself on a map, there is a reason Ukraine broke away from Russia and tried to gain independence. You forgot that our government is extremely corrupt, they want China to loan them more money, just so they can steal more. Go to China and publically call the president a monkey, see what happens. Do the same in Russia, EU and USA. We'll see which country disappears you or cut of your toes first?

Trade between SA and the EU is approx 54 Billion $ while trade with Russia is only around 750 million $. What happens to the SA economy if the EU decides that while SA has the right to slap them in the face the EU has the right to stop trading with them? You can avoid reality but you can't avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

Which shall Increase thanks to all the corruption and load shedding and now cosying up to a country that has started a war in Europe. Very little thinking going on but don't seem to care as it's hardly going to affect the government and if it goes wrong the blame card will be used.

Aah yes, "helping". You mean China making loans to South Africa, make them pay extremely high interest, just so politicians can be corrupt and steal it all. Where China forces an African country to use the loan money to build infrastructure, but only China is allowed to build and use it. Where they bring their own workers down and then strip the ground of minerals. This leaves the African country in large deb and still has to pay back the loan. China instantly got its own money returned back to its economy and it gets free resources. That same African country can't complain, because it's not allowed to take the loan in the first place since they are greylisted. Just look at Sri Lanka as an example. The only good government is a transparent one.

and the western countries have every right to not trade with South Africa and not provide aid either. This will cost jobs and make the poor people even poorer. The ruling ANC does not care because its pockets (not the countries) with Russia money. This is one of the most corrupt countries in the world - it is also country with the lowest education standard and the great disparity of wealth. It is totally incompetent on every aspect of administration.

@@Richcanvas You used an argument (without context) for slavery, to say you shouldn’t blame whites for colonialism. You are aware that slavery is a completely different issue than colonialism? Yes, you are right, natives did sell their own to slave traders. But non native Europeans did the exact same thing. I’m not woke, I don’t blame everything on the “whites”. We should still recognise the fact that Europeans abused Africans heavily during the previous few centuries, which led to these bad relations. The exact same thing happened with natives who sold their own. Many civil wars have been fought on the continent over the same issue. Tribal hatred or xenophobia between different African nations is just as real as hatred towards Europeans.

I do believe "the other camp" is not just Russia, Belarus and China. While most countries are afraid or some how dependant on the west - many if not most support Russia at least silently. And i should say Russia have its supporters in west as well. Not many as the levels of antirussian propaganda are brutal, but Russia still have its friends!
