this is mostly true. But survivors give advantages over others like being smaller, more quiet while injured or uninjuerd, quieter footsteps, and greater stealthy cosmetics.

MFT aside, Gabriel's story was the highlight of End Transmission in comparison to The Singularity for many. However, I think the survivor side of the Visions of the Future collection also burned a lot of interest in Gabriel in comparison to Gabriel's more abstract yet more sci-fi-adjacent skins, which is a shame. Although the burst of Haddie skins was nice while it lasted, Haddie is a different type of character (aesthetically as a roughened monster hunter and lore-wise as a multiversal window of sorts) and is more niche than somebody like Mikaela, Feng or Sable. Zarina Kassir's popularity is a case of "be careful who you diss in highschool", as a busted perk rework elevated her character purchases and the after-effects linger. Nobody likes Jonah. To hell with Jonah.

in my early teen years i used to play Left 4 Dead with my Stepdad. So maining Bill was a no brainer for me just for the nostalgia i have when playing as Bill.

Back then when I actually played DBD I was a Detective Tapp main. Although he has very limited cosmetics, i like the idea of playing a police man, that's all.

I love Haddie. The fact that she’s unpopular kinda makes me like playing her even more. She has gotten a lot of good outfits recently and I’m happy with it. Although, I’m still going for P100 Jake first since he was my original main.

Haddie: No cosmetics at the start and I also had people in the forums say that "she is ugly". Jonah: Very bad lore content and quality wise. They wanted to create a morally grey character, but failed miserably. He killed 1k people by accident. Adam: Overshadowed by Kate who realeased prior. And he also does not have the most interesting cosmetics. Jeff (I actually main him and Chris): He is loud and large. Him being a metal fan could have been really great IF they would have given him the right cosmetics. How is it, that he still only has ONE corpse paint? Most of his cosmetics are just variations of leather jacket+cargo pants+boots, which is not interesting. There are maybe 3 or 4 unique cosmetics which look cool: Black Metal (the corpse paint one), "Apocalypse", "Chrysalis" (which was prime until now) and the Beach outfit. He also got overshadowed by Jane who was loved for her "big assets". All of those characters did not have a tome yet as well and in Adam's and Jeff's cases, their background is not long to begin with, so there is not much going for them. And then there is also the argument, that there need to be forgotten characters, so the other ones can really shine.

Jeff has one of the best Survivor cosmetics though, (Black Metal) I think. The one where he’s painted up like the Crow.

Funnily enough, one of the reasons I’m a Laurie main is BECAUSE I don’t have to worry about buying cosmetics.

Playing Adam because I like how bravу and confident he is looking in his story. I mean he worked teacher in other country. That's not I was expecting when saw him first time in DLC trailer. And he's just pretty complex and authentic in his skins, but school uniform is not the case)))

I really hope they add more cosmetics for Haddie. She has such a cool lore and I loved her most recent cosmetic, the ghost hunting one (it really reminds me of Chell from portal!) I feel like Yui is also somewhat of a neglected survivor. She's my main and it just feels like she doesn't get that many cosmetics, or when she does they aren't that great

Only reason I play as Ace is cause his moan/grunts when he is injured is so much quieter than any other char so he is good for steath.

Hopefully I see more girl/cute cosmetics on other girl survivors than feng (no hate to feng I feel like she have enough girly/cute cosmetics) other survivors deserve some love 🫶

We all like diffrent things I guess. I play mostly survivor, and mainly Mikaela and Kate. I started playing DBD with Hour of the Witch because of Mikaela. I really like her character design/lore and almost all of her cosmetics.

I started this game back in 2017 and the survivor i picked was bill because i love l4d and l4d2 so it was obvious i would pick him, glad i got my boy to p100 than dropped this game.

From all Surv i like playing laurie i love her vault/running animation i wish she get more skins

Playing Jake Park gives aesthetic vibe, as his cosmetics bland very well with the aesthetic of DBD

I'd love to have more cosmetics for Quentin, if behaviour already did the hardest part which is getting the character in the game then why can't they manage to add more skins for them? Quentin hasn't received anything since his release

My main surv is Yui Kimura, my favs besides her are: Yun Jin (Sorry if a got her name wrong, makes some time since I played this game xD), Vittorio, Gabriel, David, Felix, Renato and Samara's surv. Most of the guys I mentioned that I like is because they're hot. Yun Jin was considered by me the character with the ugliest cosmetics in all DBD. I bought her only for the challenge to make a beautiful Yun. With time she grown on me and now I like her. Samara's surv is because he is underrated and I love raincoat. If I had him would play with him a lot. Yui and Renato are because they have the coolest ideas for me and they sell the fantasy of fighting for their allies that I think is pretty cool. Everytime I played as Yui I always felt like I was some kinda of badass hero just ready to help a friend if needed.

My main on survival is Zarina because i have AoT skin on her. before i had main Nea 3 prestige 50 level before level rework (now she at level 13 and Zarina is 11)

I like to play with female survivors way more because of all the arguments u mention, especially because their smaller but if I play a male character it’s David with the sexy abs😊 I love to play with Sheva but she don’t have cosmetics 😢

Jeff players out here embracing the gigachad mindset.

It's easy. There's survivors that get cosmetics and lots of love and then there's us Quentin mains staring at the ceiling for hours at night knowing that the Nightmare on Elm Street license is in so much shit that cosmetics will never happen and it's a miracle DBD is holding onto it still but we cope by telling ourselves that the Stranger Things DLC came back so /surely/ anything is possible, even cosmetics for Quentin.

I believe many listed characters ain't getting as many cosmetics because many of them are licensed characters and Behaviour would have to ask for permission every time, they'd want to add something new. All of this takes time and is expensive, so I guess they are just being low-budget on those characters and focus on unique/own survivors. And also: Female characters are more popular because if you stare on an ass for hours.. You should like it, at least. (My thesis...) Edit: I just saw that he even talked about original and licensed. 😅 I was at 3:04 when I commented this.

I main Bill and he's around 58-59 prestige rn. I liked playing him in l4d and saving my teammates. But some time ago I got some interest in Silent Hill and I got 2 new mains - James and Cybil. 35 prestige rn. While Bill is free and more popular, others are quite expensive and almost don't exist in your average dbd game. Cybil's supportive nature is similar to Bill's, while James's story was fucked up. Hope they will become more popular later (and cheaper).

The Lyra siblings are honestly underrated survivors 🤷 I hardly see any of them and when I do OMG they are some of the best players I've ever seen. I play Thalita the most atm with her brother right behind. They both came to the game with unique perks in my opinion. Thalita brought cut loose and her brother brought background player 👍 yes cut loose is good and if you think it's not good then you just use it incorrectly. Now I understand that they aren't popular by a lot of people because they are tied to skull merchants but they can easily get some of the best duo outfits ever since they are siblings. How come there hasn't been any Christmas related full outfits for these two yet? Two siblings? They really could have done anything better than two sweaters bruh. The latest outfits that they both gotten are really good and that is just a prime example of what I'm talking about when I say "best duo outfits" and since they are canonically an actual sibling Duo, them being non-licensed characters should have easily opened the door for more outfits. There aren't a lot of canonically Duos in the game that are unlicensed Nancy and Steve do count as a Duo but they are licensed. So as every other resident evil duo that you are going to put on this list so please do not try and argue with the resident evil cast. And sable getting a whole lot more cosmetics than them and she just got released made me so upset. It is crazy how popularity beats quantity and quality

Well one reason Meg and Feng are popular is because they are free, vs others are DLC.

If someone gets a cool cosmetic, Feng Min gets an equal attention cosmetic so she doesn't feel left out. Not seeing being Feng Min. She's supposed to be a top tier gamer and she is under a lot of pressure to at the top. If she sees someone else getting more attention she will feel like she will fall into obscurity and people won't like her anymore.

Short answer: Would you rather play as a cute goth girl or a guy that looks like he should be the killer instead

plot twist, making unattractive characters or characters from niche licenses doesn't sell as well as the opposite

It's obvious that if you're going to look at a character for hours, you want to like what you see. If Behavior weren't dumb, they would spam hot characters and sexy cosmetics. It would be like printing money. And the game is rated M, so having all the girls wear black boy shorts for underwear is baffling.

I am a Meg main myself. But I think that Feng is a little bit overrated like she is only picekd because of her cosmetics but we have like match better survivers who are actually better at helping your team in the game. And after all the game is made for escapeing and killing not because of cosmetics. So yea. But don t get me wrong I have nothing against Feng mains I actually think they are cool. But yea I think she is a little bit overrated.

I actually don't like most of Fengs cosmetics, I like Jeff but he's so loud.

Short answer: They are free (most) by default, are females and have skins about gaming. As for Meg is mostly because her perks are extremely good and people who started playin her just found it boring to level up another survivor. Same goes for Kate. Yui because japanese weebs. Nea cuz vibrant colours so toxic people wants to get all the attention for their shitty yt/twitch channel. And the list keeps goin on

Haddie, Jeff and Jonah aren't that attractive compared to most other characters, though imo these guys look cool, just voices and bigger model's don't cut it for me and I tend to play licensed characters.

i personally find Jonah quiet attractive in almost every cosmetics he has except his Base Outfit which is why I find it pretty sad that he doesn't get much love from the community or the developers

I dont get why people dont prefer to play licensed characters. You can play with one of your favorite characters (if nor the favorite) from many franchises but instead take one generic made by bhvr? And saying its because auric cells doesn’t make much sense since its only 500 and usually you won’t have many shards to buy characters at all and will have to rely on auric cells or chapters anyway

Why do people care about which survivor they play or play against is beyond my understanding. They are all just skins because they are all the same. I play this game for quite time now and I still don't know survivors names. They are just different skins for the same game character so buying cosmetics for them is basically buying skins for skins. Also "maining" specific survivor is just hilarious. It is like someone say: "I main Chatterer skin". No. You just main Cynobite.. Here is the same. You main either survivor or some specific killer.
