i hope they helped him put his parents where they belong
Imagine having the balls to be straight up at the beginning. Cards on the table, you know why I'm here. Hard fucking core absolute bad ass.
Everyone who joins the army are always escaping from something. People from broken homes will often make the best soldiers

Really Bloody Sunday the British Army are despicable disgusting racist scum today revealed their War Crimes in Afghanistan absolute effing Vermin! 6 7 2023.

What these monsters forget is that one day they’ll no old, and frai, and unable to defend themselves…
A truly brave man to say that.
Fkn that's deep, I can only imagine it might have helped him, even if it was just a tiny bit. God bless him, that's fkn awful 😔

Not as deep as his dad was up his ass
Brave man for telling the truth! There are people who are living with this kind of thing and more and hiding it like they are to blame! I feel for this man who went through such horror and betrayal!
So this lad was brave in so many ways and including speaking out and putting it all behind him .. thank you for your service you fine young man !
Churns ya stomach!! So glad he got out of that situation and did good with his life!!
Good for him to leave an evil situation and seek a better life.
Tough lad...😢
This realm is a horrible place for some
I joined the military because i wanted to change my stars. Never regretted it, had some of the best laughs and stories that i will be forever grateful for!
Usually the quiet commited types who stand on their own feet usually do have hidden stories. He did the right thing getting out and progressing to the story told, just hope his pals gave him the encouragement he needed after admiting that.
That young man showed such courage and bravery. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR. ❤️
Saw him leaving an art gallery in Grey Street, Newcastle. Clocked him straight away as he passed by me. He then never took his eyes off me as he crossed the road to the Theatre Royal and up to the junction. Always switched on !!
A man that goes thru shit like this is always fearing himself more than anyone else. I know
Hat's off to the lad for fighting through. A lot of us joined to get away, not knowing what to do or where they fit in as civvi.
A damaged soul makes the hardest soldier ! ❤ and respect to our SAS !
Waiting for the punchline… that never comes

@@Cial😂 exactly what i thought.
And I never ask that question again in my life
Exactly and that's why we are the best in the world.
Respect to all of you. It’s interesting why you do it, but I am mainly just glad you do. Not much to be proud of about the U.K. these days, but the ability of the SAS to turn apparent Zeros, into Heroes is inspiring.
Anyone reading this needs to say a prayer for Chris at the moment. Not saying why, but if you know, you know. Get home safe.
Damn. My Dad wasn't abusing me but I left and joined the Army when I was 17...just up and left. It was the best decision that I ever made.

What a hero. To go through such a childhood and come out the other end. It would have destroyed lesser men or women. Top respect
I have to admit I read THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY and believed what I was reading at the time😂🤣😅

Andy didnt get away hr got captured and tortured. It was other member of team made it to syria.
Well that’s conversation stopper of a lifetime.
😢 this makes me want to cry.. how can a mother not protect her child?
Should make a revenge movie
Chris Ryan writes some of THE BEST books, that you Know he Lived That Life, and it`s some Truly Fascinating stuff...100%
😢he deserves a medal 🥇
Horrendous but pleased he got himself a new life.
The guy should be extremely proud of himself making something of his life coming from such an abusive background! What an achievement & hero! An absolute credit to the SAS & our country! 🇬🇧 May God-bless him.
A good response would be "We need to pay him a visit. What's his address?"
Credit that guys honesty One of the tuffets men I no had the same thing happen to him and I’ll say this anyone who’s ever cornered this guy has ended up hurt severely
I could get through life without hearing something like that...how do you ever look at that guy again without thinking about it
Total respect 😢
I knew a guy who had the same issues, his dad's dead. Tragic road accident, nothing to do with him as he was deployed. He used to run selection and he's my daughter's godfather and a great bloke. Can't say more as some will know who he is and we can't have that.
That poor lad.hope he paid his dad back big time.and disowned his so called mum.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That soldier 100% didn't fear death anymore.
Respect for that guy to admit his abuse but I think his new family the team will heal him 👍
How brave of this Soldier saying that.
I grew up in what was known as the 5th Edition of S.B. A few blocks from the railroad tracks and under the flight path of airplanes from a major intercontinental airport. Down the block was a guy who joined the USMC at 17. His father was an alcoholic who used him for a punching bag. Did better than others in the neighborhood who end up in "juvie" or jail.
Jesus Christ, I thought I heard it all, this takes sickening to another level.
I watched a documentary on the SAS and a lot of the troopers had strange backgrounds. Sad to say but I think it’s what made them the best soldiers in the world.
I too left at 16. 34 years old now, an honours degree in business and finance, HNC electrical engineering but settled as a Learning Disabilities Nurse because two boys I was fostered with had complex needs and that always stuck with me. Life is shit but its not how you start but how you choose to finish.

Fair play to you mate ✊🏻
Well done for speaking out against his parents plus fair play to the rest for not jibing him about it!!
There’s always one mate that ruins the fun with a sad story
Mind blowing. But great move
To go from a victim to a soldier feared the world over
Kudos to this guy propa mush👍
The Royal commandos served with us here great mates all. Semper Fi boys.
That’s a hard man right there, respect.
Thankyou for your service.
😡 that’s sickening/horrifying. Death penalty?

Death penalty isn't a thing in the uk
Poor lad. Good on him for finding the courage to make the most of his life after something so vile.
Knowing everything about those you trust and rely on .. ❤
Sad but more prevalent than we all like to admit.😢
My heart goes out to the man who was an abused child, he has my life long respect for turning a negative into a positive for himself, the horrors of endless men's lives needs to be spoken about more.
This is one very good reason for the death penalty
Speechless. Anything I could say in response to that would sound trite.
Pretty brave and incredible that he said that. Awesome guy
I know of a couple individuals in the states that this was thier reason for joining our military...Sad state of affairs😢
My boyfriend did same things and he is English. He had a horrible family, and he wants to leave that house, and he joins the army after all he got medal for serving in 1997 in Bosnia.
The army or prison are the two main alternatives for men from nightmarish lives. Sad, but that's life sadly.
Thank god for that...thought he was going to say he hated Scotland.
There are tough men on this island, we threw our best twice in mechanised warfare and now we have paid with our very home.
That man can reach down into that darkest of places in his soul and pull 100-proof hatred up whenever he needs to.
I wouldn't want a soldier in my army who had suffered so.
Wasn’t expecting that
It’s not beef, just Royally.
and today SAS finally gave up on their demands to prevent SAS being publicly mentioned in war crime enquiry for crimes commited in Afghanistan in 2010 and 2011
