Why society doesn’t allow us to speak about Narcissistic Parents ?

In our toxic society, there is an overwhelming pressure to speak well of our narcissistic parents both during their lifetime and after their death. This societal expectation forces us to endure emotional and psychological abuse in silence, maintaining the facade of a harmonious relationship despite the deep-seated harm inflicted upon us. The cultural narrative often glorifies parental figures, dismissing the individual’s suffering and invalidating their experiences. As a result, many are compelled to remain in toxic relationships, sacrificing their well-being to adhere to societal norms that prioritize familial bonds over personal health. This pervasive mindset perpetuates a cycle of abuse, leaving individuals trapped in an environment where their pain is overlooked, and their need for healing is ignored.

Truer words were never spoken! Well said! Perfectly put! Another thing that is frowned upon is that people are advised to be careful of individuals who have a bad relation with his or her own parents. As if this was some strong red flag that the person is wicked. People automatically assume that in all of these cases the blame is on the child and never because of something pertaining to the parents.

I'm not looking forward to this weekend. I'm expected to wish narc dad a happy father's day. After all, it is what is expected by society. "Why can't you just say it?... it would make him happy"

Sad, but true. We live in a failed society that is deaf and blind to our grievances.
