Great video - so satisfying doing the work yourself - and it saves money! 🙂

This is an Excellent example of working smart, safely, using the correct tools *correctly*, and documenting steps as you proceed! This is a good training for novice and experienced mechanics alike. Nice one Doris, you got your own light sabre as well 😉 never liked drilled discs, they always end up in the bin and replaced with grooved, in my experience the heat dissipation with holes isn't worth it.... And yes they will fail at high speed/loads when worn.
Great job Doris! I agree if you can do it yourself, the savings are great! Great video like always! Have a great day!

Super helpful. Thank you.

I just seen your video. I wanted and praise you for the good job you doing. And I was guessing somewhere between 2500 to 4000. But not $6,000. I hate to see how much it cost to have your coolant flush. That's why I do my work myself. But keep up the good work. I'm going to continue supporting you... cuz you do a good job. And you be good out there...

Hi Doris ! Hope you're doing well. Thank you for another great video, I enjoyed so much, very technical and very well explained, wow who would have thought that was going to be so expensive, and it's so nice that you saved all that money so you can use it on mods for the Hellcat 😉 How is everything going with the GT350 engine ? Take care and have a bless day 👋😊❤⭐

At lot of the guys we race with in class run GTR's because they are unreasonably quick on track and the entry cost for a used one if actually pretty decent. However the one constant I hear for them all is "Man, parts for these cars can cost a fortune" and in racing it's not if - it's when you break and ruin things. Always good to find cheap yet proven replacement parts. For instance we run cheap Centric blank rotors on our Brembo brakes - either way they have to be thrown away every 1-2 seasons and theres no performance difference.
My favorite thing about your videos, the smile and excitement is always genuine :)

Hi dorace U r very hardworking.... great video👍👍👍👍
THank you for posting this video, it is really helpful, but I have a few questions. 1. What type of loctite is that? is it specifically for this type of application, that involved a lot of heat? 2. What is that toll that you used to separate the pads from the caliper? 3. What is the torque amount on each bolt for the rotors? Thank you!
Wow awesome 👏 That’s a really appreciated they way you did Great 👍🏼 video keep it up 🤟🏽🤟🏽👏👏👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Doris, Amazing video with all the details. Just wanted to ask where did you order these Brake rotors and Pads?
Thanks for providing the details on the COBB Light from Astro Tools. Like the versatility of the light.
Nice work as always. I love the GTR. Did the brakes on my friends chevy Cruze for 100 bucks 😂
Super Woman to the rescue! Great video. Always wondered how to do the rotors and pads using the old hats. Now I can do my HC rotors when they’re due. The HC stock rotors are $1000 each from the dealer.
Hi D nice job on the brakes that hopefully should make a big difference on the track

I'm betting so. They feel strong on the street. So let's see how they take the abuse.
So i just used Speed By Design for my 2013 R35 brakes. I got an entire set for under $1500, same performance, less squealing noise. SBD have a lot of R35 products on the way to make these cars more affordable, the owner was really helpful too!
Nothing better than watching a beautiful woman work on a beautiful car. Keep up the hard work the vids are awesome.

She makes it looks so easy👍🏻...
Beautiful and nice and safety to use...that's good Dorace,....
Your amazing at what you do especially when you have your clumsy times 😂💯❤️ keep your your great work I love what you do💯
my advice is to look at the weight on the tire side of the spring , it's entirely detrimental to have weight on that side of the springs. it's why you drill holes through the rotor, it really doesn't have any larger effect on Cooling, but it does get rid of weight you really don't want. Slotted rotors heat up your brake pads very quickly, some brake pads need higher temperatures in order to work correctly halk HPS would be an example . The carbon content of the rotors is fairly critical to this, cast iron is still very strong at extremely high temperatures. Lower carbon rotors or high nickel content may have a higher coefficient of friction and it may seem like a car and stopping better, but push them to higher temperatures and you will see what melts first. Anyway, you seem quite fantastic. But don't underestimate the reasons why you're thinking Nissan was designed the way it was. I'm reasonably confident you can't get better results with slotted rotors
Thank you for a new video I missed you girl.

lol.. I mean.. if my garage was wider..no problem :).. The GT350 will be a pain to get up on ramps though.
Great video as expected. The only issue I could think might be with the blue loctite. If you put all the bolts in at once doesn't the loctite already semi set up before you finish bolting and setting the torque specs for every bolt. The set time is about 10 minutes so hopefully you got them all set within that short window of time. Love watching your explanation and work ethic.
@woman.driven

Thanks! I feel I gave myself enough time. I didn't feel much if any resistance when torquing them. The issue is they have to be tighten in an even order, so that sort of delays it. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Another terrific and enjoyable video. I'm guessing just north or just south of 2K for the job at a dealer shop.
This is so cool 😎 a woman that works on cars a real game changer 💕

DBA make good rotors, my XF6T was warping OEM rotors in less than 8000km with the hill driving I was doing. Replaced them with slotted DBA's and 40000km later they were still going well.
Great video and good savings!! I'm kind of wondering why you didn't say anything about maintaining the brake fluid. When replacing the pads/rotors is an ideal time to replace the fluid.
@woman.driven
4 жыл бұрын
The video was already way way too long to begin with. I did have the blower bleeder on the table during the first part. I will do that quickly off camera as I've done way too many on film. Same process :)
Do you feel it’s worth it just to get another 2 piece rotor (ring and hat) so that you can take your time to replace rings when it comes time to do brake job?
HI Doris, You have given me the confidence to get this done on y own GTR. Can I ask you to provide the torque settings for the caliper bolts
Good video once again. To answer your question, taking your car to a dealership to change brakes and rotors, will cost you around $5,000. I had to find an alternative to change my brakes and rotors on my 392. This hobby is very expensive.....😂😂😂 very good video once again.👍🏾👍🏾😂
Wow u are so awesome.I got my 468 big block chevy sold. And i bought a 540 stroker engine pushing 720 horse's no turbos or chargers..All motor horse power..Love all your cars..Okay most awesome chick ever. You have a great week..Much Aloha

@@woman.driven WELCOME!!!
Yess you are wonderful all the time I’m a big fam of your channel and your car collection is amazing and awesome keep up the good work it would probably cost you about $3,500 to take the GTR to a shop and replace everything with OEM parts probably more lol
If you mount a dial indicators, opposite of each other, on the spindle and rotate the rotor, you can measure runout as well. This is a quick way to check for warped rotors.
I notest the coment about the drill on the disc brakes...they are made to no happens the vacuum between the pads and disc when under high pressure and temperature, take care about how hot your brakes will get, this tiny holes help with dilatation too, we can consider they absorb the fast dilatation under a heavy and short braking, or simply to much heat. greetings from Brasil
