At lot of the guys we race with in class run GTR's because they are unreasonably quick on track and the entry cost for a used one if actually pretty decent. However the one constant I hear for them all is "Man, parts for these cars can cost a fortune" and in racing it's not if - it's when you break and ruin things. Always good to find cheap yet proven replacement parts. For instance we run cheap Centric blank rotors on our Brembo brakes - either way they have to be thrown away every 1-2 seasons and theres no performance difference.

THank you for posting this video, it is really helpful, but I have a few questions. 1. What type of loctite is that? is it specifically for this type of application, that involved a lot of heat? 2. What is that toll that you used to separate the pads from the caliper? 3. What is the torque amount on each bolt for the rotors? Thank you!

my advice is to look at the weight on the tire side of the spring , it's entirely detrimental to have weight on that side of the springs. it's why you drill holes through the rotor, it really doesn't have any larger effect on Cooling, but it does get rid of weight you really don't want. Slotted rotors heat up your brake pads very quickly, some brake pads need higher temperatures in order to work correctly halk HPS would be an example . The carbon content of the rotors is fairly critical to this, cast iron is still very strong at extremely high temperatures. Lower carbon rotors or high nickel content may have a higher coefficient of friction and it may seem like a car and stopping better, but push them to higher temperatures and you will see what melts first. Anyway, you seem quite fantastic. But don't underestimate the reasons why you're thinking Nissan was designed the way it was. I'm reasonably confident you can't get better results with slotted rotors

Great video as expected. The only issue I could think might be with the blue loctite. If you put all the bolts in at once doesn't the loctite already semi set up before you finish bolting and setting the torque specs for every bolt. The set time is about 10 minutes so hopefully you got them all set within that short window of time. Love watching your explanation and work ethic.

Yess you are wonderful all the time I’m a big fam of your channel and your car collection is amazing and awesome keep up the good work it would probably cost you about $3,500 to take the GTR to a shop and replace everything with OEM parts probably more lol

If you mount a dial indicators, opposite of each other, on the spindle and rotate the rotor, you can measure runout as well. This is a quick way to check for warped rotors.

I notest the coment about the drill on the disc brakes...they are made to no happens the vacuum between the pads and disc when under high pressure and temperature, take care about how hot your brakes will get, this tiny holes help with dilatation too, we can consider they absorb the fast dilatation under a heavy and short braking, or simply to much heat. greetings from Brasil

Good job 👍,good choice on the choice of pads, the highest level of pads would have required too much heat to be driven on the street.

Thank you. That is correct, although better for the track, it does not make much sense without proper tires and heat. Thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers!
