Thanks for Dwayne for the editing this amazing videos and Jared for helping his friends ❤️ I love this channel
I don’t know what was better the infomercial for the brakes, which was completely hilarious! Or the education I got on adding Corvette parts to a Nissan! That was awesome! You’re right that rotational mass that will be removed is incredible!

Brakes, often the last thing people think of upgrading when it should be the first! I really love that brake manufacturers like O'Reilly are putting these nice looking, rust proof coatings on their rotors now - I fitted a set to the front of my GS460 last year, and it just lifted the look of the car that little bit not having rust visible through the wheels. I'm not sure if it's because of the channels I watch, but I really have seen much R35 wrenching content so this was great! When the seatbelt electronic pretensioners kick in, you know you've got some good breaks - for me it was moving to Pilot Sport 4's that got me into that zone - the seatbelt gives you a nice hug 🙂

That's really informative! I never thought of mixing and matching parts like that. Normally ,owners upgrade to the brakes on a higher performing model, but it's interesting seeing other options out there.
the duster you want to have fun not be special and it's fun to see it coming along and that GTR so cool thank you for sharing w us and thank Dwane for his editing :)

The editing is killing it lately. NOICE!
Good to see you fit Australian made products in the GTR.
It's cool to see a change of pace on the channel. That Duster is probably my favorite car being built by anyone on KZread. Can't wait to see it at Moparty.

From one gear head to another you rock bro !!! Not a mechanic but a cook/farmer … but really like your recipe !!! Also bonus moment…have very big well equipped garage including car lift milling machine etc … as a race track club member have several cars including a corvette c6 Zr1 and 2 Nissan GTR’s a 2014 black edition and 2017 track edition… cannot believe this video and my luck ! It’s almost to good to be true !!! Looking around if I’m on candid camera lol ! You Rock!!!
Hi Jared nice Nissan and the carbon ceramic braking system !!! Nice workmanship
Jarrod’s come a long way since I first started watching his work and I wouldn’t think twice about taking one of my vehicles to him to work on
One of the best things? This content goes from old A- & B- body Mopars, Supras, IH Scout and now "Budget" upgrade for a GT-R. It bounces around, never gets stale
I love when your building cars that you like!!! Would love a 80’s super car build!!!
Jared I've noticed the thing where people drive close when you're in a nice car (97 Viper GTS in my case) and I honestly think it's just people trying to get a look at the car most of the time.
That moment you realize that your Corvette brakes cost more than my Corvette. :-)
i love MOOG cranking in my shop also grate for a cruse! they don't ask for royalty's for YT just a mention in the credit.. grate for YT
Nice job on the beauty shots montage - great job on the editing as usual!!
Great content . Questioning tho the use of carbon brakes on road cars due to the real need for heat to make them work properly Has the compounds and design changed so the brakes dont need as much heat nowdays Chers
I hope your friend is doing a ton of track days! From what I've heard carbon-ceramic rotors need some heat in them before they have maximum stopping power and that steel rotors are the better option for street use. I think the main benefit of going carbon-ceramic is not fading from heat soak during track use.

I feel like Jared needs a day to just kick back, have a beverage and smoke a good cigar. Yet here he is, wanting to work on something not his own he proceeds to call up a buddy with a GT-R to slap non JDM parts on it, sacrilegious, lol. side note: ever want to work on a 350z I definitely have some maintenance/work she needs...
I’m not a commenter usually, however if comments help the video succeed . Jared has earned it. Never know what he is gonna do but you can bet it’s original and built not bought. Great work keep it up.

Nothing like watching a $5000 brake job! I wonder why you didn't also go with vette calipers as well and save the Nissan's for future use.
I just hit 19:40 in the video-very impressive Mr. P
Could you do a dedicated video on bedding in brakes?
I love GTRs, i love Corvettes, i love this video, i love this channel. Bam. 😉
Yes! Very expensive for brakes. But like my aunt always says, you have to pay to play!
STRONG, but not FRAGILE video. Bravo!
Sounds like the GTR needs new flashers. I assume the Duster is getting O'Reilly brakes?
I hated changing breaks the first time I learned it’s not easy
This is awesome! Wouldn't mind doing this to my car!! ADD MORE LIGHTNESS!!!
*Meanwhile, Freddy is STILL picking bits of South Beach out of places that McLaren didn't even know it HAD places...* I don't know why, but this build is still more interesting than a $2,000,000(+) Hybrid Hyper-car. @The Questionable Garage / Jared, I was told by friends in japan with the R32 and r33 gtrs that they both are heavy cars that were very wide compared to similar cars. Is there something you specifically know about the r34 that is different? or is the r35 even quite heavy compared to those previous models? I wasn't under the assumption that any of the GTR's were particularly light compared to other sports cars like the EVO or Subaru STI Thanks for any info in advance.

The first two generations of the GT-R, produced from 1969 to 1973, were a relatively light ~2500lbs. The third generation, the R32, was introduced in 1989 and had similar dimensions but was quite a bit heavier at ~3150lbs. The modern version is closer to 4000lbs.

Do you not need carbon ceramic specific BMC or calipers? I’ve read when retrofitting either way on other cars, say a Porsche or Mercedes, you’re to swap the entire brake system and can’t just do rotors and pads. Also did you add additional brake cooling?
@mm8436

For the GT-R, you do not. Normal driving is fine but track driving heats up more than stock.
Brakes are always my first upgrade on a street car. I'd love to see you do a DOT 5 system one day. That GTR is a smexy beast.
Is the braking ratio between front and back going to change from the original factory design?

tnx for the video
Love the braking heard.
I'm all over on music. I've been listening to Hamsa Lila and Aaron Burdett lately.
Best vid... pls add more GTR content!!
Love the videos Jared, keep it up! A little suggestion for the audio to prevent the distortion, try putting you mic a little farther from you mouth/throat as it sounds like the mic isn't able to cleanly pic up your voice with it pinned to the neck of your shirt and it causes some loud high pitched distortion.
Jared! Please work with b is for build and fix their gtr! I'd love to see how the transaxle works!

Hello, what kind of damage the parking brake can make to the rear cap?
Awesome project Jared! Love your videos. Idk if other viewers are hearing this but there seems to be some frequent audio clipping in your videos. Might want to adjust or change your mic.
Does the drum brake assembly underneath the disk brakes still work? Is that the parking brake?
FYI, Racing Brake have rear brake hats, that have a steel liner for the parking brake.
I have a brake related question for the car guys. I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and, it goes through brakes fast. I asked a few folks why and a Dodge mechanic told me it's because the pads and rotors are too small for the size of the vehicle. He basically said it was a design flaw from the factory. I was advised to try slotted rotors but, does anyone know of a better solution like, what Jared did here? Maybe a way to put bigger rotors and calipers with little to no modifications? Great video as always Jared.

If it doesn't have them installed, upgrade to Ceramic pads. They last much longer and take heat better than standard pads, which also means less brake fade.

@@animebeatle81 I did the same thing. But the ole Cruze ate em up on even fresh turned standard rotors. She travels up and down a mountain everyday. The kit I ordered had the drilled and slotted rotors plus new ceramic pads. Be sure and follow the break-in or they glaze over.
Blinker bulb out or after market lights
Doesn't appear to be an access hole in those rear hats to be able to adjust the handbrake.
what kind of pads go with carbon ceramic? you never spoke abut the pads.

Are rear rotors the same dimensions as the front ones?
Rust will not cause rotor cracking, too much heat and poor metallurgy causes the cracking.
