The day the album dropped my 14 year old cousin didn't have enough money to buy the tape. He got on the phone and called around until he found someone who had it then called our other potna on three way and convinced the first dude to put the phone next to his radio so they could listen to THE WHOLE TAPE. Dude put the phone down, pressed play and did stuff around the house, came back to flip the tape over when side one was finished and played the rest 😂😂😂

Snoop is the reason hockey jerseys became a thing in the culture. I know I wasn’t the only kid that saw those videos and asked for a Penguins jersey.

I'm 1 million % convinced that the sales of this album were so high because ppls parents would take it and then we'd just order another thru Columbia House. I did it like 4 or 5 times myself.

The G-Funk was in full motion. Doggystyle was an impact in ‘93 & ‘94. Dr. Dre produced the hell out of that album on Snoop Dogg

The 1st “gangsta rapper” to become a pop star late 93-94 was a muthafucka cuz Midnight Marauders, Enter the 36 chambers, and Doggystyle all came out in November of 93 so it helped to usher in this classic time period

At the time, “Doggystyle” was the most anticipated rap album of all time…and it might still be.
