Best game ever. Pathfinder 2 is a nod toward simplicity, like 5e, but for GMs, worldbuilding, story building, backstories, and versatility, this is it. You can play with many rules, classes, spells, and have a complicated game for old hands, or just a few of those and run a pretty streamlined campaign.

My table runs 3.5e but we throw in Pathfinder content every now and then. We LOVE the backwards compatibility. I just started a Homebrew campaign last week, one of my players rolled up a Pathfinder 1e character (Magus)

I started playing tabletop rpgs by playing Zweihander the grim and perilous RPG with my cousins and recently I have my eyes set on Divinity original sin 2 tabletop RPG. and now KZread recommends this! Truly today is a great day.

My group will likely never stop running 3.5/pathfinder. P2 hasn't really drawn us into it yet. But we dabble in various other systems but always come back to pathfinder.

Pathfinder will always be special to me. Started playing 3.5 with A group which fell apart but I wanted to continue the story, then found pathfinder and wanted to try it since it offered more opportunities to people who different races, instead of hampering half-orcs who weren’t combat classes. Tried the latest DND system but doesn’t seem to have the same Pathfinder did. Would love to get back to this again , even if I’m a player again.

My real only gripe about pathfinder is late lvl when there are so many buffs being cast. Haste, good hope, greater magic fang, bardic performance, bull strength, blah blah blah... makes it difficult to keep track of every buff you have and then yo add it all up on top of your roll can slog the game

I really wish Pathfinder had something simular to DDB since I would really like to try a Kitsune but learning the rules is a bit hard with the limited free time I have.

tldr: First time playing, bad at talking (especially on the spot). Does this limit my choice of character because I have to act as them? (grunting feral Orc vs articulate Gnome witch) I've been approached by a friend of mine to play Pathfinder 1e in a group with him as DM (this is both our first time playing a tabletop) and what gives me the most trouble besides learning all the information is the decision on which character to make. It's not like I don't have ideas but I feel like I can only play the characters I'd be decent acting as. I'm not very good at expressing myself in spontaneous ways (at least not without resorting to my already limited vocabulary and speaking skills) and that feels lke a prerequisite to have, since pretty much all the game is interacting with other people and in character. There's also the fact that I have pretty bad social anxiety (if I didn't know any of the people I'm playing with I wouldn't even agree to playing) compared to most people and acting in front of them without preparing my sentences beforehand is the worst case of being put on the spot for me. I'm prone to overthinking and since this is all our first time playing maybe we don't need to act in character yet but It takes me a long time warming up. I'm confident I can play a convincing feral orc but I'd also like to play a female gnome witch with a bit of an attitude and smarts (grunting vs eloquent) Maybe you can ease my worries a bit (or anyone reading for that matter). Love your videos!

That's possible if you're both very into character and roleplay but difficult if not as without the need to discuss plans with other players, a single player can sprint through content.
