Well said Jim.
Postmodernism is the reason for this arguement. The idea of individual truths. But words have meaning and are simple to follow. There is only one truth, but unlimited lies.
Great way to look at it
True we always divide over non-essential stuff. You are my top 3 apologists. I like your arguments, I like how you don't want to prove anything, but just want to give arguments.

I like your characterization that we're living in a "shots fired" culture right now.
I used to be far more dogmatic about dogma. I now am only concerned about the incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection. If someone were to agree upon those, then I would consider him/her to be a Christian.

It is our fault, the church for why evil is prevailing, blaming it on the government or Hollywood is very immature.
What a poignant message for today’s world.
