One of the most important and heaviest episodes of The Ranveer Show, with Deepika Bhardwaj. We touched upon the aspect of men's mental health, false claims made against them & their vulnerabilities.
#DeepikaBhardwaj is a men's rights activist. Indian journalist and now also a documentary filmmaker. It was an absolute pleasure to be speaking to someone with so much depth and clarity for what one stands for.
This episode touches upon some of the deepest aspects of what a man goes through. With the case of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard going around media, we have seen this issue finally gaining some light. Taking nothing away from all the women who go through suppression, there is also the other side which we need to look upon.
Hope this episode opens your perspective towards justice and how necessary it is to be able to fight for your rights. Enjoy this episode.

    My father, including me and my sister were victims of extreme domestic voilence from my mother. She's a cunning and insane woman. The last few days before getting out of the house after my sister's marriage, my father faced a lot of torture, cuts from knife and constant abuse. She would hit him and keep shouting for more money to spend. He gave a lot of money just to keep her satisfied. One day she banged his head in front of our 2 maids. I decided to call the police....the police came, both my parents were taken to the police station. My mother's statement was recorded, my father's statement was ignored even though we were the complainant. He had swollen head, everything was ignored. He was kept in custody for few hours but because he is a govt officer, they released him for the night. The next day we got him bail from court. After that he took step towards divorce. We stayed in a rented appartment for the rest of the time. It's 2years now from that day... there's hardly any work being done for the divorce. My mother has no evidence, wittness, the whole family is against her but she has faced no consequence for that, because she's a woman and our country's terrible law. My father had filed a complaint before the incident happened but no investigation was done. Now we are much peaceful living away from her, she still tries to threaten even when my father sends her money every month for living, her ac bills are more than ours combined. But I'm happy he's out if it.

    What a wonderful & encouraging podcast! I personally know a friend of mine who's life got ruined because his wife was a cheater, married him only because of money & continued her illicit relationship after being newly married as well. After being caught she filed a false case of dowry against my friend. Thankfully he fought back & got divorced, case being on his side. We need more conversations like these to spread awareness in society, recognise ruthless women, teach men to open up & teach society as well to accept men side of story in the same empathising way the way they listen to women side of story.

  • @anantsharma6365
    @anantsharma63652 жыл бұрын

    From my personal perspective about life as a man, it's less about men not crying, & more about the society not ready to listen to a man's cries Women know when they share people listen to them, people take it seriously, & that's why they can cry freely whenever they want to Men know when they cry, people distance themselves instead of listening attentively Men are extremely emotionally vulnerable, may be even more than women IMO But when their vulnerability is met with disgust instead of receiving support, they feel it's better to not let others know that we're vulnerable bcoz it actually increases their suffering instead of diminishing it Think of it like this, some parents are so strict that when their child hurts themselves while playing, they start yelling at the child saying "I told u not to play here, why are u being so naughty, why don't u listen to us, etc. etc. etc.", This makes the child feel more hurt & adds to his suffering That's why often a hurt child starts crying louder after being confronted by the parents, to which they say "stop crying or we'll hit u" If these things happen repeatedly, the child starts keeping their wounds & pain to themselves instead of immediately going to the parents Same thing happens with men Men want to share their pain & sufferings....they want to cry, they want to scream in extreme pain & agony, but they can't do it bcoz people don't want to listen to them And that is why many men cry a lot with their close friends, bcoz those friends not just listen but also provide a shoulder to cry on So instead of asking men to cry, we need to start listening to them & the tears will naturally come out

    Who is less fortunate in society, is a game of perspective. The important part is when the law of the land, 498A supported by the court and enforced by the GOVT, is against every man in this country. Treated as less important and 2nd class by the letter of the law, 498A is tyrannical and subversion of every man in India, by the Government.

    Guys, here are some of the red flags I am calling out as a woman myself : 1. Regardless of whether it’s a love marriage or an arranged one, plz take good 6 months to know the person before tying the knot. Everyone put their best feet forward initially so don’t fall for that. 2. Plz notice the red flags pertaining to behaviour, someone who is a money monger or a spendthrift, you can spot them if you pay close attention. Every woman wants to look good but you should be able to tell when someone is going overboard. Yeh 4 lakh ka lehenga and 9 lakh haar is stupidity even if you can afford it. 3. Also, as a old saying goes, check how she treats people around her, the house help, the guard, the watchmen, the delivery person, the nbrhood grocery store seller - if she is cooky, chances are she is arrogant by nature & is playing nice with you. 4. Take a sense of her perspective about men in general. How does she talk about the men in her life. Some women think it’s the responsibility of the man she marries to provide for her, nothing wrong with that but be careful of the extremist mindset. 5. Lastly, please listen to your gut feeling, even if there are no red flags mentioned above but something feels off deep within you. It usually is. And the biggest one is don’t worry about being a single. I am a 39 yr old single woman & I have had my fair share of relationships & they didn’t work out and it’s ok. It’s better to be alone than being in a relationship that’s gonna feel like hell. Don’t give up on it completely either, remember there are amazing people , both men and women who are out there.

    This was a really important conversation to have and eye opening in various ways. As a guy I can second that fact that I have seen way more men suffering from loneliness than women. It is very difficult for us to open ourselves up and even if we do, the other person does not see us with empathy but just as another tantrum of ours and tell us to "man up". In a greater spectrum of things, loneliness feels like such a small problem to share but it eats you up from inside. I believe this is one of the bigger reasons for the greater percentage of men committing suicides.

    This is exactly why such cases happen. Major reason is even if you're proven wrong there is no implications for women side. It's like let's do it maybe it sticks even if doesn't it doesn't matter anyway. 🤦‍♂️

    Very important point was not discussed! Women are always encouraged to find a man who is financially stronger, stays independent without parents. No matter how successful the woman is, she is expected to find someone at par or better! If a man is not able to do well and the woman supports him/family, then the society looks down on the man. Very good debate! I am not an abused person in anyway, But yes if I can't fulfil an expectation, its an inherent insult (This is common and no one takes it seriously). Let's all understand it's ok if a woman is supporting her husband and should be normalized!

    In class 12th .. I was going to my physics tuition classes ...there was jam on road( almost 100 people's with some vehicles also) when the jam opens up people's of both way hurry a middle class boy(age like 24) come with his cycle and a girl(like 18 or 19) with a black mask on her face. The cycle tire touches her pant and a little mud got on her pants ... she immediately SLAPS him multiple time ..he kept his hands on his face and go to another way( and 100s of people were watching) not a single person step up... after 5 min an old person come near him .... he was standing near a pole...then I also came from there to my tuition ( when I told this my friends they show no response).... I don't know what men feels but why don't our women step forward to protect our men( i know they want... no one is weak) MEN ALSO NEED HELP!! Because I can't find many videos on men molestation as youtube is MALE dominating..... I wrote it there...

    Excellent point! More than half of the cases are because of 'my lawyer is suggesting to do so'. People do not have any knowledge of legal proceedings and repercussions, so they trust their lawyers/representatives. But they forget that forget that lawyers/representatives look for their own best interests first. Hence they want to create a big case so that they can get a big compensation.
