Great strikers are a rare currency in modern football. While big Premier League teams like Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea are struggling for a number 9 this season - is the problem actually that desperate?
Inspired by Brentford and Newcastle, JJ Bull is here to argue that your side doesn’t need an expensive striker, but should invest in a set-piece coach to help grab goals. And also weasels.

Here in Argentina we have a club called Estudiantes de La Plata - might know them, they beat United's butt in 1968 with Osvaldo Zubeldía They're a team that had a lot of coaches that emphasized in mastering set-piece plays. In fact, it's like a house recipe for them. Zubeldía, the coach that kind of invented lots of new stuff like pre-videoanalysis analysis, offside traps... seemed to be a very important person for the Mechanic Orange team coach Rinus Michels, as he cited him and Estudiantes de La Plata as the creators of total football They also had Carlos Bilardo as coach, Simeone... and this part is important cuz I got reminded about this by Trippier, who casually played in Atleti before being signed by Newcastle.

It's because we've had a plan and have stuck to that plan for a good 5 seasons now. We know what we want from our players, and we coach it into them. Which means that it doesn't really matter what 'formation' or tactic we play, as we can adjust seamlessly. Only issue comes, as in yesterday, when we do not finish our big chances and then turn off at the last. Didn't help that we're missing 2 of our most important players in Jensen and Rico Henry, as well as our other FBs in Hickey and Roerslev...plus Collins, Josh DaSilva, Toney, Schade...which is really tough on a club with a smaller squad. You'd think with Henry, Hickey, and Jensen, we would have kept up our concentration to defend against Saka late on. Plus, Onyeka always drifted to leave Zinchenko in space, which led to Arsenal's 2 best chances before the goal. Janelt would have got tighter in midfield, if Rico was at FB and Jensen alongside in midfield.

@@liamconverse8950 What does that have to do with skill? I mean i guess it does take some skill to hold on to a Ball, But i Can gurantee it takes much more talent and skill to control a Ball with your feet enough to where 11 other dudes, and 4 perticularly Big dudes cant just kick it off you
