NRL competing against the LA rugby world 7s on the same weekend will be a match of biggest audience viewing. I personally think the 7s rugby will have more viewers globally since there are international teams involved including the host nation USA
Rugby union has no pads or helmets and the America has a Rugby union national side

The USA Eagles are playing in the LA rugby 7s on the same weekend with many other international teams. NRL has some competition over the weekend
Rugby League conquers the 🇺🇸
It will never become mainstream. But can deffo attract TV viewers and gambling revenue. And is way more suited to the US market than Union, which lets face it, outside of France, SA and debatably Ireland. The club game struggles massively.
Whenever anyone suggests anything new there are 1,000 reasons why it won’t succeed. Regardless the NRL is to be congratulated for taking this calculated risk.
I prefer Canadian Football (Australian Rules Footy 1st but Canadian Football a close 2nd) but given that Rugby has 2 types, I just prefer League to Union by a hair. Due mostly to Canadian Football as it was originally Rugby back in the day (American too but Canadian frist and still was the work of Rugby)

Stampeders. CFL craps on NFL but Yank psychy ends at the 49th parallel. Good on you, Tah.

@@davidseamans6151 well the last Super Bore lol was better than I expected (especially as OT was done in a good way) but Grey Cup is still better. Montreal get 4 points and Winnipeg had 13 seconds to outdoes but failed. That is cool! :)
This is like NFL games in Mexico, Germany, or the UK.

NFL games here in the UK are consistently sold out months in advance. I went to one once and it was great. If only I had some mates that were also into NFL 😢

The nfl is a global brand You have to be an elite breed to play nfl and have the smarts. Not this dumb low iq sport that 2/3ds of Australia doesn't follow
Rugby League can make it if ticket prices are consistently lower than NFL and can establish itself as a working man’s game.

@@russe19642don't think Americans have many oval shaped fields to play afl. At least one of the two is going over there

Its not about crowds at the game. Its all about TV viewers
If the betting odds are right

No time outs, just 5 minutes for video ref to get it wrong
Only problem is that Americans think Union and League are the same game; that’s what needs to be told first about this game
Yes... USA have a depth of young people that can play. Image that NRL USA...wo!....

1000% Spot on, mate
And also the US has the t20 cricket World Cup coming up with millions of Indians in America backing cricket growth that’s another competitor to deal with. I don’t think Union will last much longer in the US, it’s dying in Australia and I am sure league fans will be telling US fans to scrap union while they are there. Union still hasn’t taken off in the states and I will be happy to see it go in Australia. Sick of such a disappointing team to the country. They should be called club Wallabies not Australian Wallabies. I shredded my jersey last year, I don’t back losers.

I really hope they tone down the indigenous stuff, these americans just want to watch a game not sit through an hour of bs at a sporting event.

Nope
Honestly, I don't care if the yanks don't like it. Corporate USA is obscenely money driven and political.

American football is a billions of dollars business from NCAA to NFL..and the number one sport in the US. NFL has strong ties with Vegas power brokers..Draft Kings. It's all linked into this corporate giant. So much money involved NCAA football generates more money than the NFL. So like rugby union ,rugby league will find it difficult trying to break into the American market which is closely controlled by very rich business men and big corporate television companies.
American here. They won’t watch
ZERO chance of Americans being interested
Comes down to money...
NRL is boring cos Aussies & NZ don't promote best Black athletes World wide.
You might pick up a few fans but they will never play the game in America as there are too many liabilities with insurance and head injuries………but good luck, I am sure you will gather a good following, depending on what time of the day it’s aired over there
