So this was just a random roborock commercial of him just summing up the selling points. What a waste

During the initial setup turn off the cellular on phone during the initial setup. Once the cellular is turned off on the phone then it will connect to WiFi (2.4). Turn cellular off before set up to make it connect to WiFi. After setup is complete you are safe to turn the cellular back on.

Commercials are a great way to make money with KZread, but I was really looking for actual performance and quality comparison to other brands. Obstacle avoidance is a nice feature, but maybe it's better just to pick your stuff up and put it away.

Do you know whether the dust bins of both robots are cross compatible? Then we could have the best of both worlds.

Would be great to know the difference between Q8 Max+ and Q Revo as their MSRP is very close to each other.

The Q Revo has rotating mops that it can lift up, so it would be better as a dedicated all in one machine with a lot of tall carpets. Not sure how they compare otherwise, spec wise they both have same suction power. But the Q Revo has a single roller where as the Q8 Max+ has dual roller. I believe dual roller helps picking up hair and small objects better. Then the Q Revo has a very large dock. The Q Revo can also both wash and dry it's mops, where as the mop on the Q8 Max+ is a fixed mop. If they cost the same and you are wanting to mop a lot, maybe try the Q Revo. If you dont need a lot of mopping, you can do the Q Max+ or even the Q8 Max (the one that does not have a bin, it may cost 100-150$ less or so).

Which one is better?

Is the dock worth the extra $140 for the Q5, not including the bags you will have to buy? Some good Black Friday sales going on so I’m in the market but that extra cost is hanging me up. If it’s just to dump I think it won’t be so hard to empty the bin myself lol

Q5 is inferior to Q8. If you want to save money, you can look at Q8 Max (without +), it will be the Q8 Max but without the bin. Maybe it saves you 100-150$. The bin is of course practical, but the non bin model can live under a couch. When you have to empty the non bin model, you can just say to google: hey google.. start the vacuum. Then when it goes onto the floor, you either say: hey google, pause the vacuum.. or you go onto the device and press the button to stop it. Then you remove the bin in the vacuum and empty it in your trash. Afterwards you put it back and either start by button on vacuum or: hey google, resume the vacuum cleaning

Duorollers have proven to be less effective on hard floors in some tests I've seen, so not much of a game changer. Base stations are for me a waste of money, I also prefer to have the machine hidden under a piece of furniture such as a sofa.

is it really worth it tho? You are gonna have to refil the water and clean the mop attachment every single time the self emptying unit doesn't do that for you. You mind as well save your money and get the one you can do it manually for. Ensure the bot you get cleans your home well
