Kreek is correct, the games aren't the problem, but the recommendation system is. It keeps showing the players the same games from the same developers every time, and this shows that popular games will just get even more popular and overshadow new games made by different developers.

Yeah I agree, we need more new games that aren't repetitive or not remade from an already existing game. I completely agree. Everything is so repetitive, the same. You could always try older games, perhaps ones that once used to be extremely popular but kind of died out with the change of players' tastes, such as 'Field of Battle', a medieval game made in 2014 which used to be a front page game. Or 'Armored Patrol', games like that. That might make a nice change, and the publicity would be beneficial to those older, arguably more fun games as well.

What roblox really needs to add is a new search feature for example: if I like fighting games I should be able to search for a specific genre from fighting to roleplay to hangouts and etc but at the same time also being able to search how old the game is from oldest to latest and most to least popular.

Another problem is that developers who made games with a small community usually don’t have their game featured, so it would be hard for their game to be noticed by more, which lowers the chance of it gaining popularity, unless a popular KZreadr plays the game and helps increase its popularity.

On the subject of change, in WAAPP the renovation of the Dump is what made me abandon that game entirely. But really the major event that sparked my thoughts of quitting is the permanent closure of Paper Mario Roleplay by Dogon and Super Mario 3D Roleplay by Mahdioh in August 2018. I didn't quit then, as I remembered the one game that has been around since Christmas day 2014: Tradelands. It reminded me of Galleons by Wingman8 which at one point broke and as it re-opened, *literally nobody came back to it at all, sealing my permanent decision.* It was similar to how Team Twisted stopped updating Tiny Town entirely, resulting in its public abandonment.

the exact way to fix this would be to just add a preference system, you can select what games you love the most and what genres you are looking for and itll morph your discover page into more reccomendations for those types of games

Bit late to the party but I think there's another 2 reasons, 1st one is Roblox tech, I recently got sent a devforum post by Roblox about reformable meshes and being able to change the texture in game, on 1 hand a well needed update, on the other hand, they finally got around to adding a feature which is industry standard for at least a decade now, I was pretty excited to hear volumetric clouds were coming a year or 2 back but it was pretty subpar and we can't properly make our own. There's entire tutorials on how to make stunning clouds for not too bad of a performance hit but we can't do any of that because we don't have the engine or GPU level access like you have in any game engine. Another is money and places to reach, all these games are pretty easy to make to the point there's tutorials on how to make them, I've spent a year working on and off on optimizing a script for performance and I still don't have a functional game, I could have used that effort towards learning how to use Unreal and I'd have an amazing tool on my hands

Sadly, creativity completely died on roblox. We used to have some pretty creative games, but now we have just crappy clicker games, anime games, simulator games and that's just some hot garbage.

Games now days just dont feel the same as it used to be

You should try dummies vs noobs, it's really fun and probably my favorite game. It's one of those games where you fight a horde of enemies as a team, where you play as different classes. Teamwork is a big aspect of the game. It usually averages around 500-1.5k players a day, and you could get it more popular.

Here's some interesting roblox games which are actually kinda unique and good but underrated 1.empire clash-realistic graphics,medieval based games and you can be a soldier,doctor,general,king etc and 2 huge maps and classes got skill trees. 2.bordr gam-a goofy and colorful border game with simple combat system and a ton of roles,probably one of the biggest hierarchy type game,ton of things to do here 3.infectious smile-a zombie infectious type game with a ongoing lore and lots of weapons and like 20+ maps

A big problem is that back then the money aspect wasn’t really known so people made creative games for people to enjoy, but now it just seems like everything is a cash-grab sadly

HOURS is another good one, a third-person roguelite beat-em-up where the main gimmick is the time controlling abilities. The more you progress with each character, the more of everything you unlock. The only payments are a donation and bonus content pass.

This was a great vid Kreek, agree completely. You're spot on, nothing anyone can do. Roblox is 100% the problem and I think you're seeing it more now since nearly every other platform has smart recommendation systems but Roblox's engine is dumb as rocks. It has no intelligence built into it.

Actually the sketch game is parkour reborn, it has a lot of hype for it to be released but it’s currently in its alpha testing phase and costs 350 robux to play, that’s why it hasn’t been recommended yet

As someone who searches really hard to find those unpopular detailed and fun games, the main problem for some of them, is that they don't get updated well enough or as often as players want.

Tbh this is really true, if you’re having a struggle to find games, here are some I found that are, pretty fun! Copyrighted artists, guess how many, Jake’s or masters difficult chart, wacky wizards, get to the top, walk home in Ohio,pet escape 2, parkour, regretavator, cheese escape, POV: your a cockroach in my house, find the markers, start survey?, horrific housing, backpacking, banana eats, panik, and every second you get +1 walk speed! I hope these help :) (Sorry if you played all of them already)

Kreek Craft, I had this same problem, one time I was looking for a game to play and I thought " Why are all the games on the discover page all have at least 3k players or more." and since then I have not found a new game to play.

Ill be honest roblox is doing things like keeping the same types of games on the front page if they just go through games with 200+ players regulary it could really help players find new games and help the devs contine working on the game.

Low key roblox needs to implement some sort of algorithm that changes each time u refresh the discover place and depending on what u search. This not only will benefit small developers but it will show new games. Or they could add multiple tabs similar to yt like trending and specific genres.

Try Verdant Moon, post-apocalyptic fantasy, dead game, if you’re the kind of person who is a theorist maniac on lore-based game I’m sure you’ll at least like it somehow, and also unlike the background music in most games that make you insane of constant grinding the background music for this game is amazing. Plus you don’t really need to grind levels you just explore the game. Don’t worry you’ll find a lot of cool stuff when you think you’ve ended the journey just keep exploring.

To fix this, I have a complete different game in roblox, I searched whole roblox and did not found that type of game. This game is "all category". You can actually do anything here. I have started working with this with a team of 3. It could take months to complete. Trailer coming soon in this channel.( This can be as powerfull as pls donate) and this is not even a donation game.❤

*Roblox* is packed with tons of *amazing games* that deserve way more *attention.* But, the problem is, the way *Roblox* suggests games isn't great, so awesome games end up getting ignored and fading away. It's like having *hidden treasures* that no one's finding. *Roblox* needs to fix how it recommends games so that cool ones can actually get the *spotlight* they deserve. If they improve the system, it's a win-win - players find more awesome games, and game creators get the *recognition* they worked hard for. It'd be great if Roblox would listen to its audience. Whats annoying is that nowadays, games are only made for the profit they will get out of it, and completely discarded the enjoyment they would bring out of it. I'd be working my butt of in one of these stimulator games to make little to no progress, but all I need to do is buy one expensive gamepass, and Im the strongest player in the server in a matter of 2 days.

Barely any developers nowadays are willing to take risks and create something new and original. They're too worried that since nobody's done it, nobody will like it. If someone's already made a popular game, developers will see that and say "If that got popular, I could just do the same thing, and why it get popular?". A lot of people don't understand that making a new game isn't a curse as long as the new game you made has a cool idea and it's actually fun. You have to struggle for your own unique ideas to get popular, so if you think you have a good idea but it might not get popular, you still have to try.

After looking at this, the devs just want money. Since the audience is mostly kids, people make low effort simulators to make a quick buck. Roblox needs to up their standards in game quality, it’s very annoying finding predatory cash grab games for kids. People need to get more creative in their games and make more unique games.

One of the big problems that also keeps getting mentioned is that we are older now, and these games are targeting little kids who have their parent's credit cards.

This is a good video, but there's something that I want to add here. The whole point of Roblox's "Discover" page is to help you find new games for you to play and enjoy, and as you stated, this page has failed to do so because of their bad recommendation system. The HOME page, however, is a slightly different matter, or at least in my experience, it is. You go into your home page, and what do you see? Games you've already played, the "Recommendation For You" section actually somewhat works better than the Discover version, somewhat meaning that 30% of those games are based on the games I've actually played before, and even in some sections, you can find some games you've never seen on the Discover page. In other words, the algorithm in the Home page works a bit better than the one in the Discover page. Why is that? Maybe it's because Roblox doesn't want you to leave the Home page? Who knows, but what bothers me more now that I think about it, is why does the Default Home page even recommend you games for you to check out? Isn't that the whole point of using the Discover page? I thought the Discover page was supposed to be for finding games, yet, you can just do it on the Home page instead, and it even works better too, making the Discover page almost entirely pointless. TLDR; The Home page does what the Discover page does, but better.

I honestly don't think Roblox has any sort of personalized algorithm to what games each player enjoys. As Kreek pointed out KZread recommends you videos that you'd like based on what you watch. Roblox, seems to just promote games that are popular. Now I don't think that's exactly a bad thing, especially since they're popular for a reason. As well, that's great from a company perspective, but to a player...that's not something you'd want. I don't expect much to change though since it works really well to getting people hooked on the game, especially kids.

I think to help you find games is find out what genres of game you like, if you like fnaf, like me I play TPRR to roleplay or chat and play around. I also like Obbies so sometimes I play FE2, a fast paced obby game. This might not help for some people but my main point is to find your favorite roblox genres.

I predicted this way back in 2018 with very innovative and fun games like the Conquerors, Pilgrim Islands Reborn and other examples not being promoted, while clones of successful games seemed to be pinned permanently on the front page. One of the saddest victims of the recommendation system were Speedrun 4, Galleons, Armored Patrol, and most notably the legendary Roblox Battle, which has no players.

There are alot of really good games that just barley get recommended at all, just last week i found about this parkour game called Parkour reborn, when i decided to give it a try it ended up being one of the most fun games i have ever tried on roblox despite it never being recommended to me. the recommended section of roblox really needs a rework so that people can find new games to play like this one.

i agree 100%, the community is working hard to give us entertainment, but nowadays on roblox that is very rare. For example games like pet sim x its all P2W. And roblox is making it worse by allowing online dating. It really disappoints me on how roblox is acting, and how developers like big games is completely wasting their potential for some cash.

You should do a thing where you take a look at your comments and read the games they suggest for you to play so even if you know what the game is, and maybe you've played it and you don't like it, you'll expose more people to these good well made types of games and then they will get bigger fanbases and ROBLOX may do something about the problem, or you could find a game you might like, my personal recommendation is like Deepwoken, most people don't play it although it's arguably the most well-made game on ROBLOX and is super duper fun, you could also revive well made games with your KZread status, like Polyguns which is a dead game that's insanely well made for ROBLOX, now I'm mainly recommending all of these because they're games people don't want to play because they don't want to expand their taste but maybe if you show them how fun they can be then they may want to, but yeah just an idea idk

they did have that back in 2016 to 2006.

i agree 2023 august i started 2 grade but then roblox was falling i stoped playing it from games

You should try Noobs vs Zombies: Realish. It’s pretty fun and you level up to unlock more weapons and gadgets. It averages only 10 players unfortunately, even though it’s pretty fun. I’ve played since 2018 and this is one of the only games that I have played since my account was created consistently.

A thing that I noticed is that if you want to find a game that is good, try putting “beta test” or “Alpha” because for some reason most good games are in early versions

​@@testinguser9311fr fr 1 of my fav game to play is arcane odyssey made by Vetex he spend time to make the game and infact he almost ran out of money to pay taxes while developing arcane odyssey yet he still took time to make it before releasing it

I feel like we’re entering an arc in Kreek’s channel where he’s about to start playing other games and play them more often. It seems like every time Kreek makes a video he just talks about how bad Roblox is doing or something dumb Roblox is doing

The city movement game is called Parkour, one of my most favorite games

The discover tab doesen't even make you discover new things, it's just the most popular ones, it would be cool to have a "new to you" tab that has some random somewhat popular games.

The main issue is the way roblox recommends games: it values the "addictiveness" of the game over its actual fun factor. Take Pet Simulator X as an example, it's a really addictive and visually well-made game but its "grindy" gameplay sacrifices fun for engagement and retention.

It’s sad how this is how the world works… if there is no mutual benefit then there is no success… developers implementing systems to increase playtime with psychological tricks not genuine fun

4:29 One of the best example of that too would be those " 2 Players Obby " It started with Altitorture & Carry Me if I'm not wrong? And now there are like a dozen of popular games like that. The thing is I don't really mind, most of them are genuinely fun. I would say the main issue is the discover page constantly showing the same popular games over and over even tho there are a bunch of not so popular hidden gems

Huge problem I've also noticed is that there is just no games coming out or being updated and honestly I think Doors 2 is gonna be the next big thing since it's about time for it to release or atleast some teasers and literally the only thing I'm currently excited for is the Evade Overhaul update I just can't find any other good games rn there's just nothing going on in Roblox and there probably won't for atleast the next 2 months

Guys, try Lore Game .-. exploration type game almost no tutorial at all, the vibe is unique, small community, tbh it doesn’t really need a surge of players but if you’re a player who has lost passion and keeps on trying their luck on rpg simulators, try it.

8:32 it’s actually a good game where you can make a business and where you try to make a grocery store and you hire people to do your work for you and you have to pay them you can make anything basically in there like a mall or a simple grocery store.

Why DV plays new game series is so useful

I got a good game i found that I like to play it's called Tiny Sailors World where you complete voyages across the world to earn money but if you make a shipping line it's even more fun in shipping line mode you complete voyages to earn money and prestige and you can customize your shipping line logo, name, and description any time you want. and they sometimes have events when ever their is a holiday coming up and it's super fun I recommend trying it out!

Roblox is just dying out quickly. This has happened to me for the past 4-7 months. It hasn’t been more fun as it used to been back in the day when it was actually good, I would say if Roblox made an update that would get rid of all the bordem, it would have a better impact for me and other players. What I’ve been doing is just playing the same Roblox game for days and the games that I have on my pin tab, I barely even play those games any more.

try playing headcrab infection is one of the most good pvp game it’s about a game between aliens accidentally teleporting into the facility while the scientists were experimenting and the aliens teleported its heavy inspired by half life it was like made in 2019 but it’s kinda full with p2w guys and that’s the problem

The funniest part about the discovery page is that sometimes some sections have the same games just switched up a little bit.

I used to be such a big roblox kid, i actually used to have fun on this platform, now its turned completely twisted and i have officially quit roblox, i moved on to VR.

Roblox should really make a search tab to show the unfeatured games, because searching in the normal search bar will give the monetized games that people pay 1000 dollars just to advertise, its really sad to see really good games that are genuinely entertaining and enjoyable not get the recognition they deserve.

Just find some games that you find in bottom of game pages. Also, I recommend you to play Waste of Space, Blackout (Just released), Parkour Reborn, Randomly Generated Droids, Bombline, Contact A-888, Resurrections, Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5.

hey kreek, since you're an influencer you might be able to help some actually good small games out try out phighting, a game where you select a phighter and absolutely destroy the opposing team what makes it stands out is it's unique gameplay, character design and extremely addicting ost if you wanna know how its like, you've gotta have to experience it yourself

this is the same thing for me. Roblox was my first game to start off with and i really used to spend time playing it. Then a time came that I wasn't really sure what to play and spend my time gaming, which made me switch from roblox to other PC games. It will genuinely be really helpful if roblox brings a recommendation system like youtube which shows games of my interest.

to anyone who wants to search for newer games: what i usually do is click on a game ive played thats different and unique compared to other games (like radiant residents) and then scroll down and ill find other games similar to that underneath it thats not as popular but is really fun, and ill keep doing that over and over until i find something thats rarely played.

we don't have proper original, fun, updated games. even if there is one, unless someone is actively spending money on advertising, then Roblox won't give it enough attention. coding is hard. i get that. we should let the developers team up to actually think of game ideas and hear from us what we want. as the players, we should tell what we want!

It’s good to just type “[beta]” into the search bar and pretty much every game is fun or interesting

This situasion has been giving me issues since 2020 and made me quit several times :/, in the past I used to have much more fun it clearly seems originality has been lost

I’ve been working on a game for a while. My Roblox studio won’t open so I can’t edit it. If you can tell me how to fix it, PLEASE DO!!

another problem is that developers who made games with a small community usually dont have their game featured so it would be hard for their game to be noticed by more which lowers the chance of it gaining pupularity unless a popular KZreadr plays the game and helps increase its popularity

Well, the home page does it well. Made me discover a Roblox I love(even though it's kinda dead until an update comes around)

The problem is it's not showing you games that you want to play or that are even fun, it's showing you games that make then the most money.

Fun fact: Blade Bal isn't even an original idea, the first game like it was a regular game where by clicking, you'd block, it would deflect, and go after the nearest person, only skins, no map voting, just that, so, in turn, Blade Ball just got popular because swords are cool

I've been discussing the Roblox discovery system for more than a year now on the Developer Forum. The Search & Discovery team at Roblox aren't listening to the community, which is evident by devforum activity, or rather the lack there of. I could give example and go on about various things. In short, Roblox is focused on semantic search, AI, and catering to investors.

Try using the homepage feature, it recommends you games of different genres that changes as you play different games.

Maybe before you create an account it will ask you what genre you like yo play and it will recommend games like that and you could change which genre type you like from the settings? Or maybe it could see what games you play and then show you games similar to the ones you played? This is just my idea about what they could add

they alr added the second idea, just go to the recommended tab . you just gotta scroll down

The thing about roblox devs is they are scared that their idea will fail and their time and effort will go to waste. That is what makes it hard to find a good game on roblox, if everyone had a creative idea which im sure they most likely did, and were not scared of failure (example deepwoken imo) we would find roblox more fun.

To fix this problem find action games that are from the era of 2015-2020 if people are still playing, it can be really fun

Roblox really should make their discovery system a lot like TikTok or KZread, especially their tag features, if you were to go on a social media platform, there's a good chance you'll find tags on posts, that's what Roblox should add as an option, the ability to add tags to your games, working tags, and when you play games with those tags attached, the discovery will recognize that you're playing games with those tags, so they'll suggest games with those tags in them.

@@garbearboy838 I don't want to sound rude, but if you look back at the comment, you'll see that I added "working tags" after I suggested for Roblox to add those, the type where you could click on it and it would show everything that has the tag you clicked on attached to it, like many social media posts.
