Definitely eye-opening and great insight! Human capital is way more important than material wealth because it produces material wealth. Taking the material wealth of people who are rich in human capital is not only counterproductive, it's also theft. Every race is guilty of doing bad things to other races and to members of their own race anyway, so using that as an excuse to steal people's wealth is a wicked scheme that has hurt every society where it has been employed.

I remember a conversation with an economics professor who said that in spite of what is taught regarding supply and demand, people seem "shocked" when the prices go up for an item that has become scarce. It's almost as if "the government" should compensate for this in some way.

The first people to pay reparations should be the Nigerians and other African countries who sold people into slavery. Start with that and then we can have a further discussion.

I have now been educated on reparations, and now know they are a good thing. As a person of Spanish heritage, I have to point out that from the years 711 AD to 1490 AD, Black Africans ruled Spain for more than 700 years and subjugated the Spanish. While I know it was 500 years ago, I now know that there is no time limit on reparations, in fact having an older claim should put me to the front of the line. I have also learned that we do not have to blame the Africans that did it, we can not blame everyone with Black Skin. So we will now be expecting reparations from all Black people, because we know that it does not matter how many years ago it was, or who actually committed the crimes, all that really matters is the color of the people who committed the crimes.

Yes, all of our ancestors were subjugated at some point unless you belong to a royal family. The Moslems, who subjugated the people who had subjugated the other people that lived in Spain before them who subjugated the people who lived in Spain before them etc., etc. etc., also subjugated each other. Humans are always fighting over dominance and status. It's inherent in any herd species.

The problem with these arguments is the assumption that the bulk of "welfare" goes to the poorest. Wrong. The bulk of government financial support goes to the rich through government subsidies, tax breaks, inflated government contracts, and bailouts whenever the rich gamble and lose. Why hasn't this created a disincentive for the rich to produce capital? This is absurd! Welfare only creates a disincentive to produce capital if it is poorly structured. For instance, in most states, if a person gets a job, they automatically lose their welfare checks. Sometimes, the costs associated with working (e.g. traveling to work) are so high that they eat into the paychecks meaning that people end up financially worse off than when they were on welfare. In such cases, the financially smart thing is to remain on welfare instead of working and ending up with less money. People who argue against welfare usually come from affluent backgrounds and have no idea what it means to live in poverty and lack basic necessities like food, shelter and healthcare. They assume that the poor are lazy and will not strive once they have the basics of life. What they don't realize that they themselves are beneficiaries of welfare (from their parents) in form decent education in private schools, debt-free university education, connections for job opportunities and sometimes seed money for start-ups. They imagine themselves smarter and more hardworking than the poor. What they don't realize that there are millions of people around the world who are probably smarter and more hardworking that they are but weren't lucky enough to be born with the same opportunities they have.

The point of taxation is to take money from the poor and give it to the rich. The higher taxes are, the more money ends up in the hands of the rich. The higher inflation is, the more money ends up in the hands of the rich. It's a scam.
