The fact that a customer is flying you out overseas to work on their vehicle speaks volumes; even if money is no object to that customer. You’ve done a fine job building the reputation you have. The last gearbox I stripped was a Vauxhall Chevette in the early 80’s! Things have changed somewhat! Amazing engineering and tech. Brilliant job 👏👏👏👏👏

My three only gearbox strips were one disaster and and two successes. First when I was 17 a four speed Ford Anglia109E which went to the scrapper lol, second a Borg Warner 65 I think it was out of my SD1 3.5 V8 Rover. That went back in with new clutch plates and bands, worked fine and thirdly a 2600 Land Rover 109 Four Speed new synchros and all new bearings and seals in both both main and Transfer boxes. That worked fine too.

One of your best videos (they're all incredible honestly). You guys are getting really good at this- the camera work is on point and your delivery, technical explanations, mixed with dry humor keeps one completely engaged every episode.

I’ve had hell trying to find details about these transmissions absolutely love the video and if you’ve got any tips on where to find technical info ie bolt patters external dimensions ect would greatly appreciate it

Hi Great video thank you. You mentioned the upgrades were a lot cheaper than replacing a box. How much does it cost for the upgrades? I am in Australia is there an Audi expert here that you could recommend?

Would a gearbox oil flush not work to clean the mechtronics sensors?

no they are magnetic

If used hard how often should oil be changed will that stop that swarf build up.

If used on track as well I would be changing at least every year. The clutches run in it so degrades quickly.

14:40. a sheet metal guy can make you a drain pan that fits "with" that stand, so you don't spill 1 drop of fluid. and it wouldn't cost much.

25:13 currently stuck on the rear casing right now 😂

Every other V10 plus doesnt lunch well at all. They slip and traction kicks in and shuts off the power and it only picks up from second gear

I did take about what the upgrades are, Dodson 11 plate clutch, 2nd gear and circlip. 👍🏼

As you know mine went, old box back to Audi, new one in from Audi but that is warranty for ya. If I had no warranty you'd have been doing it :)
