rick riordan teaching you about gay people is so funny because it also happened to me and like half of my friends 😭 the percy jackson fan to queer person pipeline is real and i love that this cis straight man is so supportive of us

omg a queer essay by an Indian person. Bless the yt algorithm for once. Representation is so important because for the longest time I didn't even know what gay people were. I mainly only consumed Indian media, especially Bollywood and well the queer rep here was in negative quantities. I wouldn't have found out about queer people if I had never broadened my horizons and started consuming media from the rest of the world. And I would have never been able to find, much less accept myself. I've always felt like I don't belong anywhere and finding out that I'm queer puts so much into perspective and validates that feeling. Thank you for making this video. It's so important to talk about our existence when our existence has been denied and kept a secret for so long. I'm greyromantic, I get not having crushes so bad. My friends used to force me to like guys and I was like??? Do I have to??

okay I'm officially crying now 😭Bollywood was truly bad growing up in terms of many things but especially representation of queer peeps and other minorities and I'm so glad that we have started having queer rep even if its a little steriotypical and extremely slow. I identify as demiromantic and asexual currently (i forgot to mention in the vid lol) and seeing little to no rep in media for the aroace spectrum always makes me so sad because so many teenagers (like us) feel so alone especially during that period because love and sex is considered such a huge part of teen life and it breaks my heart when people like us believe there's something wrong with them just because they don't have the same thoughts/feelings as the people around them and I really hope we have more visible characters in the media from the aroace community (like Issac from Heartstopper) who help normalise this. I'm so glad you liked the video and everything you said is so true!! and I'm so happy my videos are reaching other queer indians, that's literally my dream! love you and thanks for watching

@@trishna_saha @trishna_saha I'm sorry for making you cry 😭 even in Hollywood and the rest of the world aro/ace rep is so rare so i can't even have any expectations from Bollywood. It's moving slowly but surely, and that's nice. And yes, love Isaac but I swear if they don't give him more screen time and an actual subplot next season I'll revolt. I'm so grateful to have found a queer Indian because idk many.

I just found your channel and I really like the type of content you make. I'm a queer teen in India myself and Heartstopper was such an essential part of me finding friends with similar interests who are queer too. Thank you for this video and thanks to the algorithm too lmaoo 💕
